Unlike some other spots where you're herded through like cattle and left waiting forever, this team treats you like a valued human being with a life outside of donating. They respect your time, keep things efficient, and even chat about local spots or whatever's on your mind. I agree with a lot of the other 1-star reviews here. This location is awful. The staff is VERY unprofessional and slow. My very first visit there, the phlebotomist whom everyone said was the best one on staff stuck me, and even she didn't do a good job. She missed my vein on my first arm - I asked her not to fish, and she didn't listen. She ended up sticking me on the other arm, and still missed twice before finally getting it. I ended up with bruises on both arms and couldn't come back for 2 weeks. I only went there for my 8 new donor donations, and never went back. HOWEVER, if you're going to donate at a Grifols location, I HIGHLY recommend the location on Discovery Drive near UCF. The entire staff over there are very professional, nice, and fast. Need to make a little extra money to pay your cell phone, groceries, gas, and even something for yourself?!?!?!? This is the place to go to. Everyone here is kind and deliver quality care when donating. They have an app that you can download and make an appointment. The first time takes the longest time out of your day but after that it's easy peasy. It takes me anywhere from 35 to 45 mins to donate and that's ok. I enjoy seeing both of the Megan's, Jonathon, Mackenzie, Jose, Lizzy (even though she doesn't stick me). It's always a good time here. Thank you all for not giving up on my tiny veins. read more

This place is unprofessional, instead of communicating with YOU they write very rude and unprofessional comments on your profile like high schoolers on a forum, this place made me feel uncomfortable and stupid for asking basic questions for being a first time donor. They will let you sit in the lobby without speaking while they all communicate amongst each other And the moment I spoke up to be assisted I received attitude from the lady with gray hair at the front desk. Was donating here for years but cause of a new policy claiming they need to see area around the stick mark for bruising etc I can't come here again. You can clearly see the skin around my tattoos. I literally just donated Sunday 10/30/22 and on 11/03/22 it's "new policy". I really feel like the closer they are to closing the more things they'll try to find and get you out of the building for. This Christmas they messed up everyone's second donation last minute. They took the paperwork that shows the usually payments. Then they only have second donation of $50 instead of a $100. Not letting anyone know. And they didn't give anyones a heads up. read more

I am new to this and was interested in the reviews. This is not the place I go to now. I see a professional and concerned staff. Open for questions and all boxes are checked in my opinion I'm not a yelp person but need to say something when reading these self serving reviews. If there is any concern they should take the proper precautions. It is not all about the money received but the safety of the donee. Thank you for your professionalism and on the human side the light humor and conversation when I was a little nervous I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to help others or needs the help themselves. They offer new donor incentives but 2x now I have wasted my time going there to be told they "aren't accepting new donors at this time". I have gone to csl many times over and never have been turned away as a new donor or return and they have good new donor incentives. If you are new and haven't donated at csl I recommend going there instead. read more

staff was completely rude and unhelpful. I am now finding a new place to donate because of how horrible this staff was! Unprofessional and unnecessarily rude to myself & my friend, first time going to this location and they completely ruined my experience with donating. I've never given plasma before so I wanted to call and make an appointment because their website Grifols I believe wasn't very good and I couldn't set up an appointment myself. So I call and a woman answers and I say "hello I'm a new donor I'd like to set up an appointment to donate" and she was able to help me do so. So I arrive at my appointment and as I'm walking in I see a sign that says not excepting new donors so I'm a little confused because I made an appointment and specifically mentioned I was a new donor so I go up to the desk and I say hello I'm a new donor I made an appointment a few days ago and the woman at the desk says we aren't accepting donors at the moment but let me see if I can pull you up so I give her my name and she says it doesn't look like your on here and I'm like that's weird because I called because your appointment application on your website doesn't work and she says well you can always come back and donate if you'd like but I can't really do anything at this point. So I'm frustrated at this point that my appointment magically disappears and even if it was there I couldn't even donate because I'm a new donor? Kinda pathetic if you ask me. read more

I used to donate here regularly. However, Biomat acquired this company and recently rolled out many procedural changes. I assumed any negative aspects of this would only be short term as I've heard that Biomat is a world leader in plasma donation. I tried to stay patient, but ultimately I decided that nothing was improving and have stopped donating. I miss the extra cash, but in the past I could get in and out in an hour and 20 minutes and I loved seeing certain staff members each week. Subsequent to the procedural changes, my donations were taking over 2 hours. Additionally, the newer staff members are difficult (rude) and don't seem to put any effort into making the process run efficiently. The nail in the coffin is that they stopped taking appointments, which made wait times worse. This would be fine for those that are unemployed, but for me, trying to donate around my work schedule, I miss the appointments. read more

First off the staff is ok. But they are a joke. The staff and management believe in the equipment over people. I go today to donate and the BP machine said my heart rate was in the 40's and I know that is not right. So, I wait 15 min. My heart rate was still in the 40's. I am a paramedic and I know what my heart rate normally is. I leave and in my vehicle I checked my pulse and it was 86. So, I called management and they told me " the machines are never wrong and they have to go with equipment". I even asked if they can take it a third time and they said "No". This is the same machine that said my heart rate was over a 100 a couple of weeks ago. They don't care at all about people, but they put on a good face. This week you get a extra $10.00 if you donate twice. Yes I am extremely upset with them. I lose out of $65.00 and gas to drive there. Happy Thanksgiving to them. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would but unfortunately that's not an option. This is the most unprofessional medical atmosphere I have ever witnessed in my life. They treat their donors like second class citizens and like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to donate. Any complaints of their treatment of the donors or their lack of professionalism gets you the response this is voluntary and you don't need to be here, completely ungrateful to the gift you're giving to help other people, not to mention with possible risk to yourself. They are not accountable to anyone but themselves, any complaints made to corporate goes directly to the center's managers who completely disregard the complaints, because why would they punish themselves for their constant rude and unprofessional behavior, complaints are literally held against the donor for making them rather than the complaint the person was made about. I would not recommend this place to anyone, go somewhere else, anywhere else where they're appreciative of the time given, gift of life saving plasm, and risk to yourself to help others. read more

Wait times are 2-3 times longer. Receptionist is slow appears to have her own agenda as to who she wants to be seen next. Was recently told could no longer donate becaause of blood pressure medication. The same medication that I have been taking for the past 3 years that I have been donating was told if I stop taking the meds I could donate again. So to put it differantly if I stop taking my meds which is putting my life on the line I could donate there for allowing them to make profit. If I'm going to put my life on the line it sure as heck won't be for them to make more profit. Would give them less then 1 star if they had option. read more

I got turned down because I have a prescription for medical marijuana for my anxiety amd PTSD. They want documentation saying that you're no longer prescribed the only natural thing that keeps me from having nervous break downs. Other centers don't care, as long as you're healthy. My first time donating was last week and I was there from 9am-1pm, everything went smooth just happened to be busy at 9 so I'd recommend going earlier than that. But I actually enjoyed the process, didn't hurt and was done in less than an hour once they started. I then set an apt to come back in two days and when I walked in, I filled out my questionnaire and everything else and was in and out in less than 2 hours! Staff was nice and very helpful! read more

I've been going here for about a month now. Every staff member I've dealt with has been friendly and helpful. My first donation took about 3 hours because of the physical you had to get. It used to be a great place. But now it's changed owners and the new big guy in charge has apparently never run a place like this before (or all he cares about is making his way to the top or getting more money). All the new "improvements" only make it worse. The waiting time is twice as long. Most of the workers there are nice, but the new management and all the new rules and changes make no sense. Would have given them a good review 6 months or so ago but they keep changing owners and making changes, most of which are not for the better such as making you wait 1 1/2 hours now instead of 30 minutes like it use to be. Most changes in a business would be for 'the better' and to improve patient relations but the most recent change of not wiping off the iodine from your arm is questionable. May save them one minute but not a plus for the donor. I was told my protein was too high - in the last 9 or 10 years that I have gone there I have never had my protein too high. When asked if I could repeat the test I was told that new policies say this test cannot be repeated - again, it might take another minute or two, but in the past when some tests were repeated they got a different reading. The manager (or whoever he is) did not really care when I questioned him about it. The center is not customer friendly like it use to be and as you can see, I am a little perturbed with them right now. read more

I was denied entrance because 1 of their blood pressure machines was broken at Biomat in Altamonte springs florida, meaning that the machine wouldn't read me, according to them, and they refused to try a different machine, a proper working one-- which they had MANY of, and they refused to take my bp manually as well. They simply sent me away. I asked them through their corporate email if this is really their policy, unlike EVERY OTHER PLACE ON THE PLANET, or did they lie to me and turn me away wrongfully, which I'm already certain is the case-- but no one ever replies to my messages when I write them. They've also had dishonesty problems in the past with pretending they paid $20 less than promised just to cheat me out of $20. And they've had issues with posting payments on time and in full, after donating. They also pretend your iron's too low even when you've been taking a slew of iron pills and eating all the right foods. A lot of lying going on there. And new people who act like they don't know what they're doing. It's too inconsistent to be reliable, and it's a waste of your time, gas money and faith in humanity. read more
