Donating blood is easy and quick! This location helps make things smooth and you feel really welcome. We did a walk-in on our most recent visit as we weren't expecting my husband to get out early enough to make it during their Friday open hours (only open til 2 p.m. on Fridays). They were quick to greet us and very welcoming - they had no issues with the walk in. The location was clean and well-kept. The staff was thorough, but quick with everything so we were there for less than 30 minutes all in. They have private screening rooms for checking your overall health and eligibility. From there they offer you snacks / drinks in order to keep you happy during donation(s). The blood draw room is off to the left when you enter and there are several beds. There are a few TVs and they play mainstream shows that keep you distracted. Overall: A+ Donate if you can! You can help save up to 3 persons with EVERY donation. This location is super quick and easy to get through.

Big Red mobile bus on Church St! They're all around town!

I've been coming to the Orlando center for over a year on and off. When you get your initial…read morepromotion, be sure to schedule while you're in the chair. My first time coming the staff was very informative and make me feel safe. Considering donating? New Donor? Some types from a seasoned donor: -Give yourself a minimum of two hours to donate. An hour to donate and an hour to check in and wait. -Stay away from late appointments and lunch times if you can avoid. -Eat and hydrate before. -Upload any promotions prior to donating -You can request a phlebotomist (Miryan and Summer are awesome) -Bring a blanket or wear warm clothes. -Checkin is a small prick, donating is a bigger stick but not bad. You sit in a reclined chaise(lounger chair) while the machine removes the plasma and the blood is returned. -Sign up to donate and use my referral code : [https://info.biolifeplasma.com/new-plasma-donation-800-0422] or Coupon Code - 98374 I have rolling veins so I'm not an easy stick. My favorite phlebotomists are Miryan and Summer. They are professional, friendly, kind and very skilled. They are always very pleasant and ensure my comfort and safety. I love that and I'm thankful for them. If their management is reading this give them a raise and/promotion. I always see them hustling and going above and beyond. Recent Issue: Recently, I've seen a grumpy tech/manager, Sebastian walking around. Bad vibes. Today, I witnessed Sebastian announce prior to closing that they likely wouldn't be able to take donors. He sent two people home who've been waiting for nearly an hour. He seemed very motivated on sending people home, I watched the other techs pick up the pace. A customer complained stating that he'd driven over an hour. He said I can't control what corporate does and who they schedule. We have to go home and we have to be finished by a certain time. It's not our fault." SMH. And I JUST witnessed him nearly get into an altercation with a super friendly donor. I witnessed everything and there is something not right with this guy, Sebastian. Management should address and watch security footage. Please please PLEASE consider giving management/supervisory authority to individuals like Miryan, Summer and a lovely black lady with a beautiful Afro puff, I wish I knew her name. I appreciate they're professionalism, safe and swift service. I appreciate the new machines as they get you out quicker but you definitely feel it. I wish they would stock the center with hand soap and paper towels in the bathrooms. Also, masks would be great for clients and hand sanitizer at the questionnaire and vital station. Lastly, squishy balls that you can actually squeeze would be awesome Signed with love of donating, @ TheOriginalCharlestonian

No member of staff could say what was happening other than their systems were down. I asked for a manager who said I should stop asking questions (like did we have a time frame for any delay?) because it made her staff uncomfortable since they didn't know the answers: I said I had planned on a few hours but would like to know if I needed to reschedule. The manager shrugged. I called to complain and was rescheduled for another location. When I arrived and halfway thru the physical, I was told I was banned and all staff refused to speak further. If that's how they perform customer service imagine their medical skills!

The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and actually seems to care about the donors. Everyone from the front desk to the phlebotomists greets you with a smile and remembers your name -- it makes the whole process feel welcoming instead of just transactional. The facility is spotless, modern, and well-organized. The phlebotomists are skilled -- I barely feel the needle and have never had bruising or issues. Compensation is competitive and always paid on the debit card right after donation with no hassles. They also run great new-donor bonuses and frequent-donor promotions that actually add up. If you're thinking about donating plasma, this is the place to go. Clean, efficient, kind staff, and you're literally helping save lives. Thank you, Octapharma team -- you make it easy to keep coming back!

Jamaican lady that takes your vitals moves like a turtle . Not sure if she's doing it on purpose or what but it's very frustrating. Once you get passed vitals you have to wait for your name to be called which is about 30-50 min due to employees playing around . Once plugged in and done it may take up to 30 min just to get disconnected from machine . My last time donating it took me 3 hours . How on earth thins place still working is beside me . Ok, I was willing. The 1st visit- nobody seems to man the "customer service" desk, I arrived 5-10 minutes after opening and went directly to the customer service desk where I stood waiting for 10 minutes before a very bored looking technician asked if I need d something!? She got another sad/bored employee to help me. No one in this place looks happy, there is NO music, I went in February and the remnants of old Xmas decor was still partially taped to various places on the wall. I've gone 3 times now, every time the technician (always a different one) jabs the needle in my arm... then starts "threading" the needle in my vein!! The last time I was there: 4-5 "suits" there waiting for a manager, the kiosk dirty and looks like syrup on it (at opening), rude tech doing vitals calling out my weight, and while donating, a technician named something like Janeka (?) bummed my corner donation bed so hard, it shifted about 6" and she never apologized or checked if everything was okay! NO ONE is happy here.. not employees or donors! I'd rather go back to BioLife... not as much $$ but the employees are always so sweet, the place is spotless and music is always playing! Oh... and you can make an appointment and not have to wait HOURS! Kedplasma needs to just shut their doors: dirty environment, rude/unhappy employees.

But when the "nurse" who put the needle in his arm, completely missed his vein and DUG the needle around in his arm for a minute, and had to have someone else re poke him to find it! You would think a plasma donation center would have professionals to do the procedure but don't be surprised if you're next.

Working remotely I now have an assignment in the Orlando area which facilitates reassuming my donations here locally. My initial interaction with a help desk gentleman at 609 N Powers dr. I was told that my address verification letter which had a USPS date stamp for the previous week was unacceptable and I was additionally insulted and asked who was the letter sent by . Even if the letter was sent from Santa Claus, that was in no way reflective of company policy, donor eligibility requirements, or my personal privacy. This staff is grossly unprofessional, displays aggressive patterns, of behavior and treat potential donors as an inconvenience . As a verified donor I merely required a change of venue, not a hostile interrogation from an inarticulate staff member.

The Red Cross responds to local disasters on a daily basis, such as house fires, which occur many times a day in Greater Central Florida. Teams respond with compassion, care, and assistance for those impacted by a disaster. Working with multiple agencies, the Red Cross makes sure that victims of disaster are set up with immediate care for temporary housing, food, counseling and so much more. This local chapter in Orlando has an amazing team in place, balancing logistics, client care, volunteers and also offers a plethora of courses to the community in a variety of fields, such as certification for CPR/First Aid and more. The road to becoming a certified volunteer is rigorous and there are many courses to complete, but so very worth the time invested. This local chapter is so well managed and truly worthy of a 5 star rating. If you find yourself in need of assistance, please reach out to the Red Cross. If you are looking for a great place to volunteer, the Red Cross will help you find a good 'fit' for what you are looking to do. Hands on disaster response was my choice, but there are a great many areas that are needed to support the operation in administration areas, hospitality areas and more. Please contact the Red Cross now if you wish to become a volunteer and you will be trained and ready when the need arises for activation of volunteers.
