Then I walked over to LabCorp at 6:58am where there were 10 people ahead of me. At 7am the doors opened, and I bypassed the line and sat down. My name was called a minute later. I confirmed my information. Another minute later the phlebotomist called my name. I had blood drawn and was out under ten minutes. I still can't believe how easy this appointment was this time. Hopefully my next appointment will be just as easy here. This location is at Lakeside Village. There's metered street parking and two hour residential parking.

I was also fasting for a lab draw so I was a little hangry. And, it took about a month to get this appointment, which is much longer than I've experienced in the past. What is going on? I'm luckily healthy, but it makes me worry for those who need lab routine draws. The phlebotomist was the only staff member working, which likely contributed to the delay. She provided excellent care, but the clinic could clearly benefit from additional staffing and improved scheduling.

I decided to take a chance at Noe since I was fasting, and they were able to get me in right before their 11:30 am lunch break. The sign outside says it's "appointment only" but if you check in at the machine inside and say you'll wait, they may be able to do it if not too busy. The female phlebotomist was also working the front desk and was very kind and patient. She was personable and didn't lose her cool despite the influx of patients. I really appreciate her squeezing me in. The other male worker was processing the labs in the back as they do that on site. He was hustling too. This location is much less stressful than others. My family member came here for same-day surgery and we experienced great care!…read more The WOWs: +Every member surgery team all came to meet us in pre-op, to take detailed history, ask/answer questions, confirm which body part they are working on, and addressed all concerns. Everyone showed great compassion and the team was very effective. +They were able to give fairly accurate timeframes for every step of the process. +I especially appreciated the constant text communications, so I knew how my family member was doing and when I need to come back to pick them up. +The surgeon and nurse both individually called me to debrief the surgery and review post-op care. The meds were sent to the correct pharmacy and we had no trouble picking up everything and going straight home. +I also called the on-call doctor in the middle of the night and they got back to me quickly to address concerns. +All the staff we encountered were professional and helpful. Improvements needed: -One thing that they could have communicated better was that only 1 caregiver was allowed to be in the pre-op with the patient. My sibling came and had to wait outside. -The hand IV access was a bit painful according to my family member, but he is a hardstick. Maybe they can add a "vein whisperer" phlembotomist for hardstick patients. -The coordinator was a little hard to reach at the beginning of this medical journey, but she advocated for us and was able to swoop us last minute appointments so treatment wasn't delayed. From first contact with UCSF to the surgery, with all the imaging in between, it took about 8 weeks. Surgery dates are scheduled based on urgency of the condition. For us, we felt the timeframe was reasonable. -The CT machine went down on Sunday, the night before the appointment. They left us a voicemail on Sunday night to reschedule, but there was no one to talk to until Monday. We showed up for the imaging appt anyhow (because the doctor needed to see the scans the same day) and they were able to pencil us in at an alternative location nearby. It was quite nerve-wrecking on Sunday night and I can see how that can be confusing for non-healthcare background patients to figure this all out. Overall: some hiccups at the beginning, but the rest of it was mostly smooth and the surgery team was excellent. Primary insurance: Medicare

It's less stressful when you know parking would be abundant. There is a security downstairs, new elevators now, and proper procedures per usual. Lockers are provided for you to put your things in prior to exam. They give clear instructions. Typically you find out your results right away, if not there would be a print out with instructions. Your palm would be scanned, photo would be taken, pockets would be checked.. and individuals with hair past your ears that would be checked to make sure there are no bluetooth in place for any cheating. All in all the only place I'd want to come for my exams as it's also close proximity to me, so I hope they will always keep this location open and have more dates here as a choice option.

Everyone was kind back then, although the nurse practitioner I saw at the time was a little nonchalant and didn't have much of a bedside manner. However, she still got the job done. Yesterday, I had to return after my face suddenly became very swollen, and my son took me in. This time I was treated by Gary Smith and whether he's a doctor or nurse practitioner doesn't matter to me -- he was WONDERFUL! He examined me, made me feel completely comfortable, and was so funny and personable that for a moment I actually forgot about the pain and discomfort I was in. He prescribed medication for me, explained what I needed, and had a 100% better bedside manner. What a difference it makes when a medical provider can make you feel at ease when you're already scared and not feeling well! If you're really sick and need urgent care, I definitely recommend this location -- and pray that Gary Smith is there to treat you! Thank you for making an unpleasant situation so much easier. My only complaint has nothing to do with the care I received. I really wish they would fix the phone situation. The number listed on their website, (415) 964-4866, only leads to an automated system, and I could not get an actual person at the Glen Park location to answer. That was honestly the only annoying and frustrating part of the experience. It would be extremely helpful for patients to have a way to speak directly with someone at the location when needed. Other than that, excellent experience and excellent care!

Short wait and was directed to wait in patient room...short wait...the doctor came in. The doctor looked exhausted...but continued to provide very good care. We did arrive toward the end of her workday. Much much better experiend here than what i remember last visit to ER.
