A decent cut at a reasonable price. I got my hair cut there twice, I think by Kim, but I'm not sure as she didn't introduce herself. She was very pleasant, and I enjoy her unique cutting style. But both times she cut my bangs way too short (after telling her I wanted to grow them out). I went back because I thought maybe I didn't communicate well what I wanted. The second time my bangs were even shorter, almost sticking out horizontally over my forehead. And even though I had a scheduled appointment, she took a man ahead of me. I'm assuming he was a regular. I thought it would be quick, but she worked on him for quite a while I waited. There was man working in the salon, who barely said one word to me, which made for a generally awkward and uncomfortable waiting experience. read more

This is a BIG Woohoo for H*E*I*U (pronounced Hugh) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to Bionic Hair Care unexpectedly a few weeks ago and got the most amazing foot massage I've ever had in my entire life by Kim's (owner) son Heiu (sp?). For $30 I got the head, arms and foot massage for a whopping 45 minutes. He's very thorough and gentle, afterwards I felt completely invigorated, totally refreshed. This service (reflexology) is different than most, where they concentrate mostly on the feet instead of the whole body. He preps by putting your feet in warm water and cover you with warm towels, later he puts this spritz on your legs which feels like cool water. I loved it! I much prefer someone work on my feet solely (no pun intended!) because of all the nerve endings. My circulation really improved and I felt like I could run a marathon after Heiu worked on me. Kudos also to Kim for keeping such a clean establishment, nice bathroom too. This service is highly recommended. read more

Because of my work schedule I always try to get there on her workdays 5 min before she opens to get a haircut. For those of you who plane to do the same, don't bother because she newer opens her shop on time. Every time I get there she is not there. I usually wait for 20min and still she is not there. I stopped in Andersonville and was told a simple men's cut was $37 at which point I said thank you and left. On my way back home, I found Bionic. It was late, they were open, and I'd rather have no cut than go to "supper cuts." So I decided to stop in. The cut was $12.99. I was treated to an exceptional cut at an affordable price point. The cut even came with a scalp massage at the end. There is definitely a reason this neighborhood salon has been in business for as long as they have. The shop and people are nice but I asked for highlights was told I would save money (not that I mentioned anything about saving money) if I got lowlights and ultimately left with an uneven all over red. Also, I left with unwanted layers.... I shouldn't have said yes to the cut! Two stars only because my husbands hair looks good for the price. I should have said something but I got upset when my hair was being dried and I noticed that my roots were way lighter than the over all red color that I ended up with.
