Now Stan is retired, trading Minnesota winters for more agreeable weather, and the shop is CLOSED! His son has taken over the business operating out of a modern building housing a lot of simulator bays and even a small restaurant and bar (Office Golf in Bloomington). The work he did for me, refinishing a couple of woods, was quite good and a good price, I'll probably go back. Still...I miss that little shop on S Bryant.

Step one was to find a local expert and acquire knowledge and necessary equipment. I determined that my current location was near Everyday Disc Golf, and proceeded to confirm with the website that as it was 11:15am, the shop would be open. I arrived at approximately 11:30 to a locked business with no lights on, and a sign proclaiming the hours to be from 11am-7pm. I called the business phone number, and those hours were confirmed. I waited and watched two groups of would-be customers visit the store to no avail. One of the would-be customers asked some of the other businesses, and was told the proprietor generally rolled in around noon or so. NOON OR SO! If you are going to have a business with public hours that are available on the internet, a storefront sign, and in voice mail, maybe you should care enough to be open during those hours. I departed, and will not darken this doorstep ever again. I instead made the drive to a town known as Little Canada, to a store named Delta Disc Golf. You should too, because the good people there actually are present during store hours.

That said, the apparel selection was decent for such a small store and they had a solid sales rack on the floor too. I saw most of the typical tennis brands (K-Swiss and such), plus a few I wasn't familiar with. In addition to tennis clothes, shoes, bags and accessories, they also offer re-stringing and have a whole wall of racquets, including demos that you can borrow to decide which to buy. The shop lady (who I assume was one of the owners) left me to explore after greeting me and asking if I needed anything. I like that---helpful, but not on top of you. While I didn't find a new tennis skirt the other day, I hope to get back there once spring really rolls around and see what the new season drags in. P.S. This might sound biased, but I also really appreciate that this store is owned by two women, since sporting goods are historically a man's game. Just sayin'. :)

This was probably my third or fourth purchase but this time, my refund took me horribly longer. The person I spoke with informed me that there was no indication that my refund was to be credited to my credit card. However, I placed my order, I specifically stated to credit my trade-in funds to my purchase. Buyers/fellow golfers beware! Their processes and communication became horrible and sub par through the years. They do not respond to emails so attempt to even reach them electronically Now, since my funds would be converted to check, it will take another two to three WEEKS to receive my check. They stated that USPS is slow in sending checks. TERRIBLE! Lessons learned: NOT to purchase with 2nd Swing Golf once again. NOT recommended!

Explained the situation…read moreto Nick and he went straight to work on getting me set up with matching clubs and when he couldn't match the exact head/shaft combo on my hybrid, one of the associates picked out 3 similar demo models and explained the one that most closely matched mine. Not only did Nick and his staff go above and beyond but he allowed me to use the demo at no charge no matter how much I insisted on paying some sort of rental fee. Nick also expertly bent my damaged putter back to its original condition. I can't tell you how impressed I was with not only the willingness to help but the professionalism and knowledge as well. Not that my local PGA SuperStore isn't good, but I wish I had Nick and his team at my disposal back in Cali! GREAT JOB!
