Dana and his team with Birds Eye Flooring Co. Inc. did a great job refinishing my wood floors this past week 5-10-21 through 5-14-21.

This was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The second I looked them up on Angi. Someone called me and the ball was rolling instantly. I communicated with Allison and she kept me up-to-date on everything and let me know when one of the guys was coming out. A fantastic, friendly and easy person to work with. Jeremy was the first one to come, and he was very personable and seemed genuine from the second he came in. He offered us different options, gave us some opinions, but ultimately left it up to us. When we asked about the chances of it being put in before Thanksgiving, he said he felt very good about it, could not promise anything, but would do his very best. The carpet was just installed today and it looks amazing. Chris is the one who came out to make sure everything was measured the way we wanted how much carpet vs floor would show. He did the installation. Promptly here at 10:00 am. He was beyond incredible. Not only did he once more walk us through everything before he started, but he fixed a small issue we have been having with our top step where there is a decent gap between the stair and the wood, We have not been able to fix it. He said he could take a look at it for us and he fixed it. Then on his own without any asking he went and re-glued some of our spindles that were just loose. When you would walk down the stairs, they would make a little rattling sound, but he fixed that for us on his own time. I would recommend them 100%. They were spot on, great communicators, very personable and did a fantastic job.

Professional and efficient service. Carpet replacement in three rooms and steps. Looks good!read more

The homeowner would not stop talking about how professional Greg was and I agreed. When I spoke to the owners of Handyman I told them what the homeowner said and I told them how I felt the same. I hired Local Handyman-St. Louis (167 Lamp and Lantern Village, #129, Chesterfield, MO 63017) to replace the wood area surrounding my front door and sidelights, paying $2,200. My request was for a full removal and replacement of the wood surrounding the door with PVC. Instead, the company performed a surface-level "capping" service, nailing thin PVC pieces directly over the existing wood. The merchant later confirmed in writing that structural framing and jambs were entirely excluded from their work, despite charging a price point that represents a full system replacement in the St. Louis market. Furthermore, the workmanship left the front door weather-stripping misaligned and initially highly difficult to lock. While a technician returned once to adjust the weather-stripping, the door remains at times physically resistant and difficult to lock and unlock. Proceed with caution if you expect comprehensive structural replacement for premium pricing from this company.

Okay, so earlier this week I was angry with you empire for a couple reasons. But as I'll explain…read morebelow, you've really come a long way to rectify and impress me with your customer service. Here's what happened. A few weeks ago I purchased Cool Breeze carpet for my whole house to go over the tiles that are currently in place in every room and Northbrook Terrace vinyl plank flooring to go over tiles in kitchen, dining room, and butlers pantry. Install date 7/19 arrives and the install team lead by Juan arrives (very nice, professional and knowledgeable) they do the walk through and inform us that the carpet can't be laid over tiles, it's the wrong type. You can imagine our frustration, our salesman completely screwed up. $11,000 is a big screw up. Juan was trying hard to make it right, but he couldn't, he wanted to at least put down the vinyl but alas he didn't have the right transition moulding to do that without carpeting. But dude was really trying! So, by this point I'm totally ticked, salesmen are supposed to know their products! Needless to say at this point my house is in complete disarray as I'm ready for flooring, I'm upset and now don't know what my options are. So I get a hold of the salesman who is going to come back out to my house Monday evening and show me products that will work over my tile floors and try to save the sale. He shows up and is of course apologetic, he's a nice person so I try to make the best of the situation and let him show me the products; we find one that is suitable sign the paperwork and find out that now I'm looking at weeks before I can get an install which has just got me beyond depressed because now I have to live with my house essentially torn apart and in chaos because what's the point in unpacking everything that I've put away in order to prepare it for install and do twice the work? So before he leaves he gives me the customer service managers phone number for the area John Merrell, so I call him the next day which was Tuesday the 20th and leave him a voicemail he calls me back within the hour and immediately starts to try to make everything right. Boy howdy did he, this man went above and beyond to make it right! Suffice to say my new flooring guaranteed to work in my house is getting installed tomorrow. Talk about customer service! I am very impressed on how empire took a negative and turned it into a positive. They saved me money to boot! So, that being said I'm impressed. The reason I initially picked empire was because the products are made in America and are mostly all recycled or have a lot of recycled product in them, but the reason I chose to stay with empire after the debacle of the wrong product was their outstanding customer service.
