    Having just bought a new home, I was looking to replace existing carpet. I started looking at Home Depot. Then I went to Advance Carpet. I had picked out carpeting I had liked at Home Depot, however, the price was fairly high in my opinion. I was referred to Key Carpet by someone who had told me that I would not be disappointed. I will tell you that I was extremely pleased with Ray, the owner, as well as his knowledge and variety of carpeting he had in stock. The installers were excellent as well. They got in and out and did a very professional job. I cannot even tell where seems meet in the carpet. Bottom line, you will not be disappointed and Key Carpet will beat any big box carpet store hands down. Home Depot wanted more than $2,000 for the same, if not similar carpet that I was looking at. BONUS: Neighbor asked where we got our carpet from. When I told him where, he said that the best place in town (quality and price) as the neighbor was a regional carpet dealer. Ray, your operation and team were excellent and we are very pleased customers.

As a Consumer that loves to support local and/or small businesses I wish I had patronized a Big Box Store for this small project and accepted a quote that would have been twice as much, but at least I would have been able to open and close the Front door and have closet doors that were actually able to open and close after the flooring job was complete!! They do not agree that after a flooring job has been complete that a customer should Assume that their doors, including the FRONT door will open and close! This is one of those situations where one person (let's call him Terry) knows that his employee (Humm let's call him Jeff) did not write a Bid correctly and then outsourced the Labor to a company that is not equipped to do the job!! Don't let the "SALE" price persuade you because they do not include or expect for a job to be complete. Terry actually said "well it doesn't say the doors will open" WTF! Terry originally verbally agreed that Jeff should have known that the new carpet would need a different installer! I didn't hire the outscourced company! I hired this sorry excuse of a flooring company! #SMALLCLAIMSCOURT #HORRIBLE

Buyer beware! Update: Every time we leave a bad review, they ask us to email them but they never respond. They only respond on public platforms like the guy that responded under me.

    I initially left a positive review for Empire Flooring before any work was done because the…read moresalesman, Tim, was friendly and professional. He asked for a review and I assumed that based on his level of service in sales, that would carry through the entire project. Unfortunately, that assumption was dead wrong. Tim mismeasured our flooring, and the installers did not have enough material to complete the job. They had to leave the project incomplete with our home in disarray while more flooring was ordered. They kept trying to make us wait until the end of the week. We did not want to wait while the house was in disarray. I guess to get us to stop talking, they said that the installers would be back on Wednesday. I took time off so I could be present during the install, only for them to call me 30 minutes before arrival to say they couldn't come until Saturday. The contractor also asked us to sign completion paperwork, but we refused to sign anything until the job was actually finished. While I felt bad knowing they couldn't get paid until paperwork was signed, that's between the contractor and Empire. It's not the customer's responsibility. The contractor should know not to ask people to sign papers for work that isn't finished. The contractor should also ask permission before they get too comfortable in a client's bathroom. None of them asked to sit on our toilets and handle their business. That is very unprofessional of them. We repeatedly tried to reach Tim the salesman to resolve the issue. When he finally returned our call, there was no sense of urgency, despite the inconvenience we were dealing with. What's most frustrating is the lack of accountability. Instead of owning the mistake and trying to make things right, Tim attempted to shift blame. This situation exists solely because of improper measuring and poor follow-up. I now understand why Empire has so many low ratings. I would not recommend them to anyone.
