I came here on a random Tuesday to buy my first pair of Birkenstocks, and the experience did not disappoint. I arrived less than an hour before closing. I believe it was about 6:15 pm/6:30 pm. The sales associate was patient and kind, running back and forth to get different colors and styles without hesitation. He also knew about the product and gave me tips for care and breaking in my new Birkenstocks. I ultimately settled on the chocolate brown, oiled leather Arizona. My feet are so happy that we finally purchased our first pair, and I know it will get better over time. If you are looking for a place to buy Birkenstocks and other feet-friendly shoes, this is a great spot, as they have a mixture of sneakers, dress shoes, and casual shoes. Great experience buying fitflop sandals! I needed a quick trip and Chase helped me find my size in Fit Flop sandals. They're awesome for flat feet and plantar fasciitis. I'm excited they also carry Danska and Vionic which are my other favorites for comfortable yet cute shoes. I plan another trip for my next shoe stop. A small spurt of spontaneity came upon me a few weeks ago to surprise my wife with a new pair of shoes. I wasn't exactly sure that these guys would have what I was looking for, but I ended up calling beforehand and they happily helped me find the perfect pair. I've been in to this location a few times before to check out their selection of TOMS and have always been happy with the variety. I was so stoked to hear they had the last yellow pair in my wife's size that they had. They were glad to hold them for me until I could make it into the shop later that afternoon. I believe the two reps in the store were Gary and Beth. Such nice folks and helpful with everything. They made it a fun experience and were glad to add to my spontaneity. Best of all, my wife loves her shoes! We even came in a little while later to pick up a pair of shoes for me as well. They had a great pair of brown TOMS boots that were the last pair in my size as well! Gotta love the selection of past seasonals. Glad these guys carry such a wide variety. Edit:::::I originally have this store 2 stars because the women there was horrible. However, the next day I called there to see if they had a certain shoe in my size, they did not, but the man called the store in Durham and them overnight me the shoe in my size. He was so nice and communicated with me so well! I was very impressed. If this was my only experience with the store5stars it would be! But I am compromising and doing 4! I want to give this store 5 stars because they such a HUGE selection of shoes and they are all so comfy and stylish at the same time. But the woman who worked in there was horrible! She was older with short hair. We were the only people in the store. She had no interest in helping us, in fact she CLEARLY annoyed that we were even there....at 2pm on a Sunday...don't most people shop on weekends? It's not like we were holding her up from closing. I normally shop here for my Birkenstocks. I am a healthcare worker and on my feet constantly. During these visits I had a middle age gentleman assist men & he educated me in different insoles for wider feet (mine!) and extremely courteous. I am an avid Amazon shopper, but decided to return to this store to buy my summer Birks vs Amazon. Well what a mistake! The olde woman was curt and abrupt. Once I told her my woman size, she immediately said 'we didn't carry that size'. She did not offer a male equivalent of the unisex shoe and I had to ask. Her response was, "we don't carry that size". FYI the size is 41/42 (women 11/12 or men 9/10). When I saw the style I wanted and asked her for a different color, she responded, "those are for healthcare workers". When I replied O am a healthcare worker, she said, "Oh, Well we only care black b/c of healthcare workers". Well I realize she did not want to sell me shoe, so I left. They have a nice selection of shoes. However, this store is not good on customer service. I have never been in a Birkenstock store where the salespeople weren't super helpful until this one. They have a very lackadaisical attitude about helping you. The didn't have the shoe I wanted in my size but he indicated it could be ordered. When I asked what color they had, it was like oh lots but the salesman never went pulled out any catalogs or looked anything up in the computer. It was like he really wasn't interested. There were no suggestions of other styles or brands- They carry Dansko, Merrell etc as we'll. So I decided to leave and order what I wanted on Zappos. When I have visited other Birks stores in other cities, they gave lots of helpful suggestions on various styles, gave out catalogs, researched shoes online etc., explained the order process. These people aren't really interested in helping you. Several stores both locally and online sell the same brands so there is no need to put up with poor service. I won't go back here. read more

This shop is located off of Providence Road, located in the arboretum, next to TCBY, across from Michael's. I'm not a big shopper, and the thought crossed my mind to purchase Birkenstocks online. I'm so glad that I didn't! Amber was very personable and patient with me, as I had no clue about the European sizing. I recommend getting sized before you purchase... they run big!!! I could tell they were lazy and didn't want to do much. We didn't want the shoe on display due to the discoloration on the sole and if we are paying 90+ for shoes, why not get a new pair? I went in to check out Birks but left with a pair of Dansko clogs and Ola Kai flip flops, both brands that the clerks steered me to - after listening to my needs - and gave me lots of information about. And I LOVE them, both! I had no idea that flip flops could feel so good. They have lots of other brands, too. Im not the one to write any reviews on stores just because I've never had a bad experience, but I have never encountered a worker give such bad costumer service as they did today. I walk into the store with not the highest intention on buying Birkenstocks, I was just wanting to look around and see what fits and what I like. An elderly lady proceeds to ask what I'm looking for and I explain that I'm just looking around and want to see if a particular style will fit, but I'm not sure if I want to buy today and I may possibly buy online. She then tells me in the most rude way possible that she doesn't size for people who aren't going to buy, and why would I not buy from a local store. I then ask how will I know what size I am if I can't even try on a pair because my feet are small so I'm not even sure if any will fit. She finally says if I plan on ordering online I'll just have to go by their sizing chart, and didn't even offer at any moment the whole time we were talking if I wanted to try on anything. Poor customer service. They acted as if they were put out by my shopping. I was still polite. Then when I said I had a coupon the sales lady looked at it. She wasn't too bad. She said she would need to check with the store manager. Well, she was so rude. She would not even look at the coupon which was only giving 10% off. It was false advertisement - the coupon said the address and said it would not discount Naot or Toms (it said nothing about the brand Birkenstock). I would not have been that bothered because really it was just $10-12! But the manager was SO RUDE! Wow! I used to love to browse and find great shoes there. The absolute worst shopping experience I have ever had due to an employee who clearly does not know how to interact with customers. She was rude and spoke to me in a way that was unacceptable in any setting much less a place of business. She snatched my debit card out of my hand and then threw my debit card at me after using it. She hit me repeatedly in my arm with the shoe box while trying to shove it at me after she rang up the purchase. She refused to put the box in a bag as if I wasn't worthy of one. I really wanted a pair of Toms for my birthday, but the pair I picked out was not available in my size. We called Toms to see if they would get more in stock, but they said that they were discontinued and the only thing we could do was go to stores that sold Toms and see if they had that particular style in stock. We heard that this store sold Toms, so we stopped by. While we were browsing, the associated asked if we needed help. I explained my situation, and the sales associate went out of her way to find out which style I was talking about. When we found it, she explained that they no longer had that style. Before we were getting ready to leave, the associate told us to wait. She went to the back and pulled out the shoe I wanted, but in a children's size. They fit perfectly, and as I was going to buy them, she offered to knock 10 bucks off the price. So, not only did she go out of her way to help me, she also gave me a fantastic deal. I will be sure to recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a pair of shoes, and I will be sure to come back here next time I am looking for some Birkenstocks, Toms, Rainbows, or Sanuks. Do not go to this store. This is the worst experience we have had in a long time. The woman, who said she was the manager, is rude, does not want to get shoes in the back, and provides no advice. We wanted to shop local, but they lost two sales that day. As it went on, she was increasingly rude. She would refuse to get shoes , she would not look online to check if other stores had the shoe we were looking at until we were sure, she would not let the other clerk help us, she accused us of "being in the store for an hour", on and on....And on top of that, she is incompetent. We saw that the shoes that we tried on were not fitting right, but she told us 'this is your size'. The other person (much nicer) took a look and offered for us to try the right size. This woman was rude all around, but was particularly harsh to our family. Like a bully, it feels like she chose her target and went at it.Seeing from the comments that this has been going on for a while, I would say that the management does not care what type of service this store provides. Restaurant Employees!!! STAY AWAY!! This store deserves no stars!! The customer service at this store is absolutely horrible!! My husband is in the restaurant business and can only wear slip resistant shoes. After only having his shoes for 5 months that we paid over $100 for, the souls on the shoes wore out and he was getting water inside the shoes. We were originally told by this horrible woman that we could bring them back and could get a new pair with our original receipt if he came across any issues. When I brought the shoes and receipt in yesterday, the horrible women kept arguing with me about getting a new pair. She claimed they were not defective and he stepped in glass. When you wear shoes and work in a kitchen, most likely you will step on all kinds of things. She called the manufacturer and they ended up being covered. So when I went to get the new pair, she yelled at me for over 10 minutes about what my husband did for a living and she would not warranty them again. I asked her to recommend a new brand for him and all she kept doing was talking about the pair I had to return. I will never shop here again and hope non of you run into the same issue. Being in the restaurant business, you're on your feet all day so it's very important to have good shoes. Even worse, I'm sure she's the store owner, and doesn't care about you or how much money you spend.. she will most likely get you to buy the most expensive pair and lie to your face when it comes to the store warranty. Being from Salisbury, finding a Birkenstock store was tough! I have looked online at the company's website and everything (I mean everything is showing OUT OF STOCK or on BACKORDER.)I called around and was finally referred to Birkenstock Feet First. Before I made the hike there I called and spoke with a very nice male that gave me great directions to the store and their hours. When I first got there, I have to admit, I was a little shocked that they carried WAY more than just Birkenstocks, but, I was on a mission for my first pair, so that was pretty much all I looked at. I was immediately greeted by a female that looked about my age that asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told her that I wanted Birkenstocks, and that was pretty much all I knew. Ive seen everyone wearing the "Original" Arizona's, so I figured that would be what I would try out first. They had such a large selection! The saleswoman measured my foot and asked me what kind of look I was going for. I measured a 40 , which she said worked in my favor, due to Birkenstock being in such demand right now, a lot of the smaller sizes were on backorder until December/January. I didn't have much time, as I am in a student and wanted to get out of Charlotte before traffic got back, so I just asked her to bring what was most popular. The saleswoman brought quite a few selections back for me to look at - softbeds, traditional beds, leather, synthetic and suede. I decided I liked the Habana softbed. Unfortunately, the store did not have it, so she called one of their other store's in Greensboro to see if they had it. They did! I explained to her my dilemma of me living so far away, and she told me that they could ship them to me! I didn't get instant gratification BUT I got great service, product knowledge, AND my shoes 3 days later! Will DEFINITELY be back to check out what else they have! read more

The haughty bearded salesman this morning, who referred to himself as no less than the "proprietor," was especially rude to me in my quest to address a wear issue on a product purchased in this very store not more than two months ago by my mother. I can report to you that they've' lost our business: my mother and sister shopping here for many of their footwear needs heretofore. I showed up at this store this morning, nicely dressed, and this snitty salesman would not accommodate the concern I had with my black Birkenstock London shoes, which my mother says were ordered in October, that had worn through almost completely at the toe, after maybe ten uses at most in Manhattan. Though the soles are super soft and this particular model, the bigger surprise was how dismissive this little man was. He was dismissive of me, told me to contact Birkenstock entirely on my own, would not help without a receipt, examined my shoes and said, "Wow, Birkenstock should definitely back this," and flitted over to the display shelf saying "We don't carry this particular model in your finish." (The model he pointed to on the shelf---the same one---was of a sueded material instead of a matte black leather.) He said, "Sorry, but there's nothing I can do." I left the store absolutely stunned, wondering how these people with "Birkenstock" in their stores title, no less, cultivate customer loyalty. I texted my mother, who purchased the shoes. She's out of town. She called back and said, "Go somewhere else and just buy another pair. I'll reimburse you. There's another place, called Comfortable Soles, in the same Eastgate Shopping Center. See if they have their size. Try something with a harder sole. I will take this up with Birkenstock on my own. We will not be going back to Birkenstock Feet First." I love my mother. She does not prevaricate. I thought I'd convey my experience this morning at Birkenstock Feet First in Chapel Hill to the public at large. This is no joke. If you cannot find the expected level of service from people who are licensed to use the manufacturer's name in their title, there are plenty of other places who I'm sure will be happy to work with you and accommodate. read more
