Alright!!! Alright!!! Coworker and I gave this spot a try, don't sit next to the door on a windy day cause it kept blowing open also due to the pressure in the facility but everything kept blowing open also off the table. Walking in everything was clean and the set up was nice for a small place. Tuesday is dollar taco day your choice of meat, I ordered birria res, asada and lengua with a side of beans. While waiting they brought out some small tostadas with a side of pickled onions carrots etc. and two hot sauces, everything put together and by themselves were excellent loved the flavors. Waited a bit for our tacos even though we were the first there and a few people showed up after us and got their food before us. Finally after getting our tacos and waiting for them to serve everyone else we finally got to eat, the tacos were small but very flavorful loved the flavor of all the meats as my co worker did also but the corn tortillas the meat was in felt like they forgot about them or waited they were not warm like the meat. The beans were very good but way too runny, but back to the meats my favorite was the lengua some of the best tasting I've had in some time besides my grandmothers I can get that by itself and get my own tortillas and be good amazing taste in the meat choices I do not know about the others but wouldn't mind trying them possibly at another location or maybe this one just to see if it was a fluke visit just an off day. So we got water with our food and the service wasn't really service they took our order at the table and brought our food drink and appetizers with our drink so they only came to the table 3 times, I had to get up and ask for more water once and even after finishing that glass they did not step in and ask if I'd like more they sat there talking to one another. So with all this being said I'd give the meats a 4.5 out of 5 the service a 1.3 out of 5 and the rest of the experience a 2.5 so my over all score of this place just this location like I said I loved the flavor but everything else was poor. They do have other locations. But this location gets 3 stars. read more

I stopped at this location and ordered a plate of "nopales". The food arrived and the main food was extremely salty, I complained about it, but the cook, the manager, or any of the servers seems to care. I have tried hundreds of different restaurants and this is the worst. read more

Road trip stop. We didn't want fast food so we stopped here. Atmosphere Felt a little like fast food but tried it anyway. I had the quesabirrea. It sounded good. The lamb was tender and moist, i would have liked more seasoning and spices. The tacos were corn & mostly crispy. The consommé was a little weird. It didn't have a distinct flavor but kinda had a wild taste or maybe it was freezer burn flavor. I didn't like it. I did like the green sauce, spicy and flavorful. The red sauce was just okay. Chips were good, needed a bit of salt but much better than most places since they were freshly fried. The Honey, got the Guiso de Puerco Pork Stew, Rice, Beans, with Red Sauce. It was served on a platter but wasn't as appealing as if the pork stew had been served in a bowl. The meat was tender, cut to a uniform small piece and the gravy was good. He liked it okay. The beans were good. Rice plain. He ordered corn tortillas, they were not homemade. They did not have butter which we like with our tortillas. Wish we would have gotten the homemade flour tortillas. Overall it wasn't bad, would I go there again...Maybe but I'd order the fajitas, they looked good. read more

Service and ambience was great. Food was alright, but that's expected with the price paid. Will visit again soon.

Horchata tasted like bleach and they charged $5 each. Service was friendly but our table of 5 adults and 1 kids meal (8 years old) was served one meal at a time over a 30 minute timeframe after waiting 45 minutes. Meaning the first person who got their food who waited to eat for everyone else to be served had cold food by the time they ate. To add insult to injury, they charged us a 15% service fee for having more than 5 guests. 5 adults and an 8 year older resulted in an additional $15 on our $101 ticket. I didn't see anywhere where they disclosed this before we sat down and ate. Why penalize people for bringing more customers into your establishment to eat food and spend money? Ridiculous. Food was ok. La Zacatecana in Ferris is 1000% better, my family and I won't waste our time ever again going to Ennis to this rip-off sub-par of an establishment. read more

Their tacos are to die for. Their rice and beans are great too. We get food from here 2-3 times a month and have never had a bad experience!

I love the employees there, they are always nice and smiling! I always get the tacos and they're pretty cheap! I never wait over 10 min on a to-go order so very fast service as well. There are so many food places where the employees are rude and just look like they hate their job. I have never once met an employee that was rude to me there and I go at least once a week. It's a small place so if they did get a pop of customers, I'm sure it wouldn't be good but hey they can run it however they want! All in all, I really enjoy this place read more

Very authentic. Not your typical chips and salsa. The salsa is spicy. The mixed fajitas were the best I've had in Ennis, lots of flavor and very generous. First time here. Hubby and I came in 10:30am. There were alot of people in there and noticed no one had any food. Hmm. That could mean the service is extremely slow. Then I noticed a weird smell; like stinky plumbing/pipes. We stood there a good 2-3 minutes and no one ever came out to greet us or seat us. We left and went next door to Norteno's Mexican Restaurant. We are at Norteno's right now. We were greeted and seated immediately and are eating chips and salsa. Need I say more?
