Went here for weekend breakfast-the place was a tad bit busy so be prepared to wait. The prices are very decent. Dosa was a tad bit of a disappointment ( but cold). Poori and vada are really good and upma was ok. Coffee was great. A decent place if you want to grab Indian breakfast. read more

I think this place should consider that there are so many other Indian places in Mason. The rice containers were not full. Not even half way full!! WTH!! The naan was burnt and crispy, not soft and buttery. The chicken tikka had no heat, no flavor, and it was full of vegetables so they don't have to give you chicken!!! Come on guys!!!! Very disappointing! Will not be back. We try a new Indian place every other Friday and this one is the worst . read more

4.5 stars I called in a takeout order while staying at the great wolf lodge close by. Order was ready when they said it would be, about 35 mins. The food here is authentic. Everything I had was good, all things I would order again and recommend to a friend. Their biryani is pretty good, not the best I've had in regard to flavor but still pretty good and the chicken thighs and legs were excellent. Dosa masala was excellent and highly recommend to anyone just dabbling in Indian food and looking for something a little different. The potato filling is delicious. The American classic butter chicken you can't go wrong with. Excellent flavor, tender boneless chicken. Inside seating also looks like a nice option and they have a pastry/desert counter which is a little different than most Indian restaurants. read more

This place always hits the spot! I got the chicken tikka masala, spice level 3 out of 5, & it was as delicious as I remember. My husband had the lamb vindaloo, spice level 4. When I tell you this is quite literally the best Indian dish I've ever had - & I am a die-hard chicken tikka masala fan. The layers of flavor are insane. The garlic naan was extremely fresh & delicious. The guy who took our order was very nice & asked if we had any questions about the menu. It is a laid back self-service type of atmosphere. This restaurant just opened and I tried it for lunch for the first time today. WOW! Quality was through the roof, extremely tasty, freshly made from scratch, and truly Indian and not "Americanized Indian". Spice level of 9/10 was hot enough for me, "Americanized" Indian restaurants that use a lot of cream and weak spice don't cut it for me. Disclaimer, if you don't like REAL Indian food you won't like this as much. I however don't like "Americanized" versions so I loved it. Most of the diners were Indian too, good sign for me! The pricing here is very fair, $10.99 for a good portion of curry and rice, then $1.99 for traditional naan. Even the rice was delicious and had some herb leaves added for flavor. I got Paneer Tikka Masala and plain Naan. The owners asked me how my meal was and I told them it was outstanding. My wait was quite long, around 40 minutes since ordering. An owner explained to me that everything is done from scratch and nothing is pre made or bought in and to allow for time. The food was worth the wait! A worker apologized for the long wait time and explained they got way too many orders at once. I get it, Saturday lunch rush as a new business. I was going to knock the rating down to a 3 star due to my 1st visit. I stopped by a few days earlier at 3pm expecting to order a meal. Nobody was in the front of house, I finally walked back and asked if anyone was there. Front door sign said they were open as did Google. I was told they were "on break" and couldn't make me a curry, only Biryanis. I told them I was a first time customer and they still turned me away. As a new business in this competitive environment I would have appreciated them making my meal. Google said they were open, if they are only making Biryanis between 2:30 and 5pm I think putting that on the website would be a good idea. I brought this issue up with owners and they were understanding. Apparently they are experimenting with the menu, etc. being a newly opened business. Overall, excellent experience and I can't wait to become a regular with this level of food quality! read more

Today I stopped by Biryani Pot in Mason, Ohio and picked up three chicken biryanis and two plates of puluguru (also known as bonda -- a tasty vegetarian dish) to take home. The staff and manager were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The biryanis were absolutely delicious, and the bonda was just perfect! Biryani Pot is not designed for Americans. The menu lists categories of "Idli, Dosa and Biryanis" with little description and no pictures. I asked my waitress for help explaining I was unfamiliar with Indian food. She said she could take my drink order while I decided. So she brought a can of Coke to my table and I ordered something with the word shrimp in the name. She looked at me funny and said, "Is that all?" Taking her reaction to mean I had ordered a small dish, I quickly looked at the list of appetizers which ran $10-$18 each. I saw the word spinach in the list so I asked her to describe the item. She replied, "Its an appetizer." Its probably a salad, I thought. Its pretty hard to mess up spinach so at least I'll have a safe and healthy vegetable. While I waited for my food, the only TV in the room was set to an unfamiliar sport, maybe cricket. I was the only customer present but the waitstaff were enjoying the unrecognizable game. It took 20-25 minutes for my food to come out and by then the can of Coke was room temperature with no ice available. They set before me a plate of tobacco-like substance, brown and stiff. Apparently, this was the spinach which had been dipped in a funnel cake batter then deep fried. The grease was still running off of it as it sat in front of me. I tried a bite but chose not to eat this vegetable cake. Then a rather large bowl of rice was set before me. I asked if this was the shrimp, and was told they were inside the dish. I hunted for them and pulled out ten tiny shrimp which I ate. The meal with tip came to just over forty dollars for a handful of shrimp and a warm coke. I saw signs for Biryani Pot before it opened and was looking forward to trying it. Finally picked up a few dishes from here, and while it's not my favorite Indian/Pakistani restaurant in the area, it's a solid new option. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza with ample parking. Inside, there are a few well spaced out tables. It's open and bright inside. There are two individual bathrooms. I was pretty disappointed with my take out service. My wife called ahead and was told 20-25 minutes. I came by 30 minutes later and was told it wasn't ready yet. I waited another 20 minutes, only to find that one of the dishes was incorrect, despite being confirmed over the phone. They spent another 10 minutes to make the correct dish. I hope they are able to work out the kinks in service, as I hope this family run business does well. We ordered the Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, family portion. It was a generous size, with a good meat to rice ratio. Flavor was good, a little heavier on the cardamom than I prefer. We also tried the goat chettinad. This is a dish I don't think I've had before. Good meat to curry ratio with a nice, light coconut flavor. The last dish we ordered was chicken Manchurian, which was top notch. We tried their garlic and butter naan's, which were fresh, and a good size. While I have a few other restaurants in the area that are still my favorites, I think Biryani Pot is a strong newcomer. read more

This was my second time here, and it is my new favorite Indian restaurant. It was awesome last time, it was just as great as I remembered this time, only this time we had a special treat. A gentleman stopped at our table and told us a little about the food here. Their philosophy is fresh ingredients and food made fresh, in house. All the masala made in house. Naan cooked fresh to order. No artificial colors, flavors or ingredients. They even have a bakery! I've had both the goat and chicken vindaloo - fantastic. Thought we would try it as it opened recently. We tried the veg Diwali Thali and a chicken Diwali thali and it's a joke!! Half a Naan, some onion fry that was dripping in oil, the "Biryani" was yellow colored rice thrown together with huge chunks of potato and carrot. For the chicken biryani, I think there was like 1 or 2 pieces. Mango lassi was given in 2 oz cup or was it 4 oz? The veg Kurma was tasteless again with huge chunks of potato and carrot. I've come here a couple times including the opening day. Though it started off really shaky, coming here almost 4 months later, the quality and taste of food has come up tremendously. I ordered Bullet Chicken and Vijayawada Chicken Biryani and they were outstanding. I loved the way they served the biryani with the juicy chicken in the middle with the fresh basmati rice on the outside.
