Horrible service and very bland food. We almost missed our ferry because of them. When we called to place an order we told them we had a boat in just over an hour and they told us "no problem your take out will be ready in 20 minutes". 40 minutes later we go up to ask how long and they tell us another 10-15 minutes. After that we go up once more and they said "sorry it took time to fry the chicken." While this is understandable they should have either planned for this situation or told us ahead of time when we explicitly asked. I never understood how people could like such dry, tasteless bread like biscuits. But that's because my experience with biscuits ended with KFC. Biscuits here are fluffy and delicious. My biscuit-loving dining companion agreed, so it's not just that they're better than KFC biscuits. The rest of the food was pretty good, but nothing too special. The blueberry pancakes were pretty disappointing considering the tiny amount of blueberries. This place is really all about the biscuits. I got the Cod Cake Benedict and holy moly was this delicious! It came with home fries on the side and those fries were heaven. Although they were not conventional fries they were more like mini baked potatoes, the crust was just melt in my mouth. I was visiting the Cape with college friends and I would gladly support this business again. Be prepared for long wait lines- we came in after 11AM. Good place for breakfast, not sure why people wait on line for an hour and a half to get in. We called ahead of time and when we arrived, we were able to walk right in, lucky! Biscuits and eggs and grits...all very good. Servers are nice, they are doing the best they can in a small space. Perhaps they should figure out a way to do a takeout kitchen? This was a very pleasant surprise! We were going to go across the street but it was pretty busy, so we yelped and found this place right across the street. We were all super glad we did! The best french toast we have ever had and we are kind of french toast snobs! We had the ones with bananas stuffed but any style should be amazing as it seems to be the way they make it. We also had the crab cakes Benedict and a breakfast sandwich biscuit. We were too late to get their homemade cinnamon buns since they were sold out, but we suspect those would have been amazing. They had fresh squeezed OJ too. Everything was homemade and really, really good. It was fairly priced too, especially for being on the island. I would absolutely recommend them. What a great find in Oak Bluffs. My spouse noticed this place when we started an island tour in the morning and thought "This is probably where we will be eating lunch today". Funny thing - It was! When we got back from our tour, we could not find any restaurant in the area that could cater to vegetarians and/or had a line out the door. Biscuits came to the vegetarian rescue with their breakfast selections. We could tell that everything is homemade, including their amazing breakfast potatoes (which are baby potatoes split down the middle and roasted with seasoning (Yummy! Yum! Yum!). The perfect balance of no frills establishment and excellent food! Small place with simple decor and in the perfect location for people watching in Martha's Vineyard. Their menu has a fantastic selection, from health conscious granola and chicken sausage to down-home chicken and waffles and sausage gravy smothered biscuits. My south beach scramble of spinach, tomatoes, and feta (I cut the ham out) was fresh, flavorful and delicious!! With the side of home fries seasoned with the classic Lawry's, I couldn't have been happier. My friend's chicken and waffles looked fabulous also (sorry, forgot to snap a pic of hers before we dug in!). The service was nice and chill - just like the beach town it is - and we got our food in record time! Very disappointed. The staff literally ignored our table nearly the whole time. The waitress asked If we wanted hot sauce, only to never get it and never speak w our table again. They did offer to refill our coffee once, but not until we were nearly completely finished. Awesome place to eat. They have a small menu but what's on it is awesome. It's a small place under 50 seats so by state law they aren't required to have a public restroom. JUST A HEADS UP. We decided to order breakfast. I ordered a western omelet which came with homefries and a biscuit. The hubs ordered a cheese omelet. The portions were a good size also. The biscuit was ok. Nothing to write home about. The home fries were smashed redskin potatoes and fried. Don't worry I took a picture. The service was friendly and a man who appeared to be the owner made his was around the small place speaking to some of the guests. The locals eat here, they were in and out grabbing takeout. My wife and I went to eat this morning and after moving our luggage out of the hotel and walking to the restaurant, we were quite hot and sweaty. The owner pumped up the AC and found a table for us right next to the unit. How is this not 5 stars all around?!?!? It was definitely worth the wait and was definitely the best breakfast/brunch I had during my vacation on the island. Chris and the entire staff (including his kids) were amazing, attentive and all around cool peoples. I could tell he takes pride in the business and taking care of all of his customers - the regulars and newcomers alike. The food was DIVINE! I wouldn't say I'm a biscuits and gravy type of lady but that day I became a believer! The biscuit was super moist and the gravy was perfect. The sausage patty was rather big and the ham slice was huge (my friend and I shared the meats so we could try both!). Often times when I ask for my eggs scrambled soft I never know what I'm going to get... the chef clearly knew what s/he was doing because I didn't have to fuss and they looked and tasted just how I like em! Now those potatoes... those potatoes were the best surprise of the entire breakfast. They were the small red potatoes - don't think regular ole home fries - and they were seasoned oh so well.
