Don't be put off by the bowling because the restaurant is really amazing! My wife and I split a Caesar salad, paella, and some Brazilian flan. All were A+++. The paella was more than enough for two and the seafood tasted like it was caught this morning. The clams completely line the ring of the black skillet, and the fish, shrimp, octopus, squid were plentiful with everything just right. The flan really topped it off and was perfectly creamy and sweetened. The restaurant is separated from the bowling alley by glass, so if you like to watch some people crush the pins and others throwing gutter balls between courses, get a table on the alley side of the restaurant. The Calamari was perfectly crisp and the menu said it came with banana peppers. They were crispy and fried!!! So good. The chili sauce was a hit too. Potstickers had great taste! Soy dipping sauce was great and not overpowering. Entrees we tried: the grilled chicken sandwich lunch special and the chicken and shrimp famous curry! Ask for combination of meats as there were quite a few options. Both so good! I was offered cheese on my grilled chicken and Bleu cheese was an option!!!!! Dessert- Warm apple crisp to go! Who knew a bowling alley could have such great food? We were skeptical when we were told how good the food is at Barn Bowl & Bistro, but having been there about a dozen times now, we're convinced. They serve up great dishes with consistency and at a reasonable price for the Island. Most recently I had their Brazilian churrasco bbq...where they come to your table with skewers of meat and slice off what you want. At $34.99, it's an awesome deal for some delicious meats. It comes with three sides: rice, a salsa of sorts, and a third dish which I didn't catch the name of but was quite tasty. Currently, they're talking about offering it on Saturdays - maybe Fridays - so call first. And go support them so they continue to serve it up! Other suggestions...the shrimp and sausage pasta is great as are the pizzas. I haven't had the curry but friends have and thoroughly enjoyed it. Personally, I've had the Bang Bang Cauliflower, SW Chicken Egg Rolls, and the Fried Fishermans Platter - which can serve two. All are good. A lot of folks tout the fried chicken but the night my husband had it, it wasn't well seasoned. And rumor has it there might be better fish and chips elsewhere. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The staff is awesome and they mix great drinks. All in all, it's an establishment we'll continue to enjoy and support. The Barn is simply the BEST in Oak Bluffs and really all of Martha's Vineyard! It is absolutely awesome service (especially if you get Auggie or Maria as your server!). The beer is cold and the food is excellent and the price is more than reasonable. The locals go here and the tourists would go here is they knew about it (it is about 3 blocks off the Main Street on Circuit Avenue but they have great parking). My family and I had a wonderful time at The Barn Bowl and Bistro last week. We rented a bowling lane (they have a total of 10), ordered drinks and appetizers and played a few games. The lanes are well maintained and all the equipment is ship shape. The ten lanes are divided up under scenic paintings of five MV cities. They also feature several large posters of former US Presidents bowling. After bowling, we got a table to sit down for dinner. We had an attentive and helpful waitress who gave good food and drink recommendations. The food isn't high end or fancy, but it is plentiful and delicious. My picky-eating son swears that The Barn has BY FAR the best pizza on MV, and this was the sixth place he has tried. read more

Not sure how we don't have a review for The Barn yet since we have been here on many occasions, most often on Thanksgiving when we go bowling with family. First of all, we love the MV-themed lanes--the whole bowling section actually feels very cozy and well-kept (we've never gone to the restaurant section, which looks a bit more generic). There are good beers on draft and one of us tried the sangria for the first time recently, and it was a bit sweet but tasty. The food is always a solid offering. The kale brussels salad (minus pecans and cranberries) was a nice change of pace from the usual stuff you see on menus, and the mac-n-cheese our daughter got was not from a box. The mozz sticks are crispy, but the batter on the fish-n-chips dish was a bit limp. Overall, though, it's fine. Pricey, but that's the Vineyard for you. Service is also solid, which just feels the overall word to describe this place. It is well-run, clean, friendly, and welcoming. We really like it here and try to go every time we visit. Four grateful stars and we hope that The Barn will become an island keepsake. read more

This is actually a bowling alley with a fairly large barn but the menu was somewhat impressive. I have the temporal cauliflower was excellent.
