I've seen their advertisements everywhere, so we had to try their Biscuits. We got the combo, where you get your food item, choice of side, and a drink for a low price. We chose hashbrown patty as our side item. My husband had the sausage Gravy biscuit and I had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. It was delicious!

Hash brown casserole I was served

Biscuit was not good, egg was rubbery, sausage was burnt, bacon was burnt. The hash brown casserole was nasty and looked nothing like the picture from the menu. Is there anything they do right? Why was it so busy? This was unacceptable. Never again yuck!

I do love me some Biscuitville. I usually stick with the Biscuit and Gravy and some grits on the side. Never ever disappointed. I wish I could eat here every morning. What is amazing is they have a pretty big menu and I want to try some more items out but I just cannot tear myself away from my usual. I love that you can spend a dollar and get your puppy little bone shaped biscuits.

This wildly popular local breakfast hangout has been serving up homemade biscuits for over forty years. During a recent visit home my wife and I dropped in for a bit of nostalgia and found it more crowded than ever. We both ordered biscuits, of course, with a side of fries. Everything was very good, including the service; however, I personally enjoy Bojangles more. Glad we stopped by though.

Biscuitville has to be the best breakfast franchise around. They have now ventured out into the land of the lunch menu which I have not had the chance to try yet. This location is always as Outkast says, "So Fresh and So Clean."

Great southern style breakfast foods. Staff is always friendly. I do prefer the Piney Forest location.

The best biscuits around. I love the Steak, Egg, and Cheese. Biscuits are hand made. Always hot and fresh.

The street situation precluded a few spots downtown, and since we weren't in the mood for our go-to taco place, we decided to head out to the Family Diner. The walk-in was awkward on our part- cash register or hot bar line first? A sweet call from the kitchen of "Y'all's first time?" got us headed in the right direction. Full disclaimer: I've been nostalgic for the southern cafeteria lately. While talking to some food industry friends last week, we realized there is something powerful about the food we all remember from K and W. And while Family Diner doesn't have a giant dining room or a 5-snake velvet rope line to get to the counter, it does take me back. Here's how we made our choices: the hot bar was a choice of three types of chicken- the baked and fried were tempting until the gentleman serving us says: "We can fry you fish to order. Flounder, trout, and catfish." The chicken got skipped for a plate of flounder (plentiful plate, btw), and a side of the Mac and cheese and cooked cabbage. The kid sampled the catfish plate, same sides. Sweet tea. And yes ma'am, I'd like the cornbread. Done. We sat down at a table in the main, cozy dining room. The first thing that I noticed: this place is clean- tidy, even. There was a super polite young man moving around and busing tables, tidying up unassumingly and doing it in a way that is lacking in some finer dining places I've been in recently. The food came out, piping hot. I used one of the malt vinegar packets to douse my flounder (a cafeteria habit) and dug in. The first bite was light and flaky, cooked perfectly. Nothing greasy-tasting, at all, just clean. The sides were great- nothing over seasoned, and like cooking at home, there was room for you to season things to your taste. Well played, Family Diner. The owner (I think? She was the one who guided us down the right path when we walked in) came out to make sure that we were happy, and yes ma'am, it's great, and holy cow, you just dropped this cornbread into the skillet and fried it? Yes, we will be back. It's unassuming, and it's just what the doctor ordered. It's a cafeteria, but it's clean and polite and makes you feel good that you ate there. It's soul food, but not just from an ethnic standpoint- it makes me happy and full and feel welcome and I'll be back.

And offer specials each day. Lots of meat options and veggie options. Including salad, which isn't always available in a homestyle southern restaurant. The roasted potatoes that are available only on Fridays were my favorite part of the platter. So flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The Mac n cheese was also very good. Creamy and cheesy. The hush puppies were HUGE and very crispy. Loved them. I ordered along with two coworkers. Coworker one is now in love with this place and wants to order at least once a week. Coworker two ordered meatloaf and said it was quite tasty. Negatives: Be prepared for the salt!!!!! We ordered from here twice. We got the chicken pie both times and it was wayyyyy to salty. The first order I was able to combine with the potatoes and Mac n cheese to make it edible. But the second order, all the sides were salty too and I ended up not being able to finish most of the plate. It was also disappointing because I'd ordered chicken tenders but received the chicken pie instead. While I'm wary of ordering in the future because the food is salty, my coworker loves it and we'll order again. Hopefully I can explore more of the menu and find the perfect dish and come back for a higher rating.
