Update 4/21/18: Last night I received several text messages demanding that I take down my review and threatening to post my personal information online. I have uploaded screenshots of the texts to Yelp. Business owners threatening people is unprofessional, unacceptable, and illegal. Original 4/20/18: Today I was the victim of reckless driving from a man in a Bishop Glass van, and then when I called the number, Mike (the owner) was very rude to me. I was driving home from work when a Bishop Glass van pulled out of a gas station without stopping (or looking, it seems) causing me to emergency brake to avoid a collision. My work bag flew off of my passenger seat. I honked. As I resumed driving a moment later, the van slammed on their brakes. I think he was trying to brake-check me. I stopped in time and jumped over two lanes to avoid him and continued on my way, being careful to drive just under the limit in hopes that the van would leave me in the dust. Instead, he drove up next to me, and when I got to the turn-in for my apartment, he slowed down and honked at me while flipping me off. I felt threatened and intimidated. I'm still shaky with adrenaline. Luckily, the van had had the logo and contact number on the back, so I almost immediately called and spoke to the owner, Mike Mayer. Mike was exceptionally rude to me. When I told him what happened, he responded with "Are you sure? Are you sure that's what happened? Are you sure you're not telling a little white lie?" in a sing-song voice. As I tried to explain what happened and the seriousness of it he became very accusatory. He sarcastically asked me if I just wanted some free some free glass. He repeatedly interrupted me. He accused me of making it all up. He accused me of being the aggressive driver. He kept asking what I wanted. When I said that an apology would be nice, he sarcastically asked me if he should ask the driver to call me. Honestly, all I was looking for was to be heard. I knew that the driver was not going to get in trouble. But instead, Mike yelled at me. If he had been polite... or even just civil, I would not feel motivated to leave this review. read more

Today I witnessed someone driving a big white van with bishop glass and the phone number printed in large blue letters on the side almost hit someone in a parking lot. The person he almost hit said something to him and the driver started cursing and yelling at the other man. Completely unprofessional. Upon further reading of reviews I see there is a common factor of aggressive driving over the last couple years. Maybe road rage courses should be in order or possibly some anger management? read more

On our way to church this morning with my family we were flipped off the middle finger and headlights flashed at us by the driver of a white van with blue lettering reading Bishop Glass. This is really upsetting because we had our children in the vehicle. Not very professional. Very rude. Called to get a price on a piece of RV glass. I was given a price and when I expressed that I felt it was high I was told that I could go somewhere else and hung up on without being given an opportunity to ask if there were additional alternatives. Updated Review: on 1/15/17 I received a response from Bishop glass regarding my review. Rather than to genuinely apologize for the situation and attempt to make it right, I got a nasty note and was told I'm an internet bully because I wrote about my negative experience on the internet. I have written 2 negative reviews in my lifetime (as it takes a lot for me to publicly write something negative about anyone) but both times I have received confirmation that my reviews were accurate because the shop owners criticized and insulted me rather than trying to remedy the situation. Yelp is a place where customers can voice their experiences positive or negative and business owners should not bully customers who've had a bad experience and decide to share that with others. I have been in customer service my entire career and this is definitely not how you treat customers. I just had a very strange call with Mike that began with me asking for a quote and explaining my situation. I called to request a bid or to look at my current bid since my previous contractor had fallen ill and was apparently in the hospital. I asked how long it would take to order and install about 10 panes. He then got very defensive and snappy. He said that it sounded strange and asked a couple times who my other contractor was. When I said I didn't really want to put their name out there he asked "Why not?! I might want to send him a card. Why not? The Bishop Glass name is out there!?" I just said "Wow, you have been very helpful" and hung up. What a bizarre encounter. read more

I had my front window broken and called Mike. Even though it was turning into the evening hours, He fixed it for me without waiting until the next day. He was so polite and kind. super helpful and attentive business. can communicate through text and open on weekends which made the ordering process and updates SO smooth. prompt and courteous. the mirror was cut very nicely and polished so smooth to be a very safe product. he even delivered it to my home which i wasnt expecting but appreciate so much! some advice because i didnt know this is apparently the polishing and finishing will take away about 1/8 -1/4 inch per side so just specify what your final dimensions should be. in my case it didnt really matter for my project. a pleasant experience and good to know there's someone great out there for any future glass needs. thank you bishop glass! read more

I have only written a few reviews for Yelp, but I have to give huge kudos to Bishop Glass. I found a large piece of pane glass that I wanted to get cut for a snake vivarium. I had the snake cage ready to go and I had called around looking for quotes to get the glass cut to size. Everywhere I called, it was either too expensive or I would have to drop it off in order to get it cut. I work 8-5 and it would be difficult to get it dropped off. It was a Saturday at 2:30 and my wife found Bishop Glass on google and I gave them a call. I was very surprised when Mike answered and even more surprised when he said he would swing by after he finished the job where he was at in Scottsdale. I live in Mesa. He was really friendly on the phone and quoted me $25 for a service call. He arrived at my house at 5:30 and he measured my snake cage and he cut my big sheet of glass into 2 windows for my cage and he even went the extra mile and left me some sanding paper to clean up the edges. He even came back the next day, (which was a Sunday) and dropped off some window railing supplies that he had extra. I was so impressed that I paid him $30 instead of $25. Mike is a great guy with a big heart. I hope you use him for your next job. I know I will. read more

Mike was the guy I dealt with over the phone and in person. I needed a glass top for my office desk. He said he would be happy to come to my neighborhood since he has to conduct business in that area anyway. Came to my house took measurements (took him 5 minutes) and gave the price, I asked him if he can give me the quote I will think about it and get back to him. As soon as I said that he got all upset telling me that it's not nice what I'm doing here by getting him out here to get a quote. I told him you are the first person I asked and I need a 2nd opinion and well $270 dollars for quarter inch glass that is ~13 square feet is not in my budget right now. But he still was rude saying "what did I think I would find something less than $100" and rambling like rookie salesman saying I should get plastic then. I said "listen if you didn't want to come here (mind you he was in the area anyway, he said it himself yesterday over the phone) I could have given you measurements myself all you had to do is tell me the approximate price over the phone". He couldn't even reply to that lmao. Other than saying he doesn't want to do business with me because I'M rude, I said me neither and gave him his quote back and he left, lmao. After 5 min he wrote me a text word for word: "That was very rude disrespectful and quite frankly a smart-ass." Guys don't let imbeciles like him try to intimidate you in buying stuff and by the looks of it that's how Bishop Glass does their business. Word of advice to Bishop Glass/Mike. If you can't give a free quote don't offer it and don't advertise it, yes it's that simple and if you can't handle that go back to business school and take basics class 101 LMAO!! read more
