We called him back up a few months ago and he came back out to double check measurements and while understandably prices had rose somewhat, we felt he did everything he could to try and stay as close as possible to the original quote total. Seth and his crew came out and did the job over 2 days. They were on time, pleasant, clean, and did great work. Seth pointed out a flaw in a couple of the window panes and said he was submitting a claim to get replacement parts so they would be perfect (and honestly, we would have never even noticed the issue). When Chris from Tracer came over I knew immediately he wasn't a typical sales guy telling me what I wanted to hear. I can smell b/s from a mile away and it does nothing but drive me to find someone else. Chris was objective and honest and gave me a good list of pros and cons and enough information to decided not to install a $10,000 three pane sliding glass door that I thought I was set on. That alone sold me that I could trust Tracer to do the job. The quote came out very fair and Chris gave me the confidence that they would be installed professionally and meticulously. I just had the windows installed and completed this week and couldn't be happier with the job. The team of window installers blew us away with their customer service and professionalism. They respected our property by taking great care to protect anything that might have got damaged during install, they ensured all their work space was spotless upon leaving and they didn't try to rush through the job to get it done it one day. On top of that they adjusted my patio door to swing more freely without me asking them and did it free of charge. Their work was meticulous, every joint and corner of the window trim inside and out was perfectly sealed and trimmed and they cleaned the windows leaving them spotless. Through the finish walkthrough they pointed out a very discrete scratch on a window pane that I wouldn't have ever seen and they insisted to take care of it through the Milgard warranty. Just another huge plus. To say the least I'm very thankful I hired Tracer Window and Door to take care of this big project. I would recommend them to anyone looking to replace their windows. I believe Tracer is a team of honest, hard working people that want to exceed 100% customer satisfaction.

I was locked out of the house due to this malfunction. We tried tightening the screws, but it didn't help. I reached out to Cory via the Thumbtack app messenger and asked to have the problem rectified. He didn't respond. I send other messages via phone, text, and email with no response (using the same methods as I had used in the past). Now, we are stuck with a screen door that doesn't lock properly, and no response from the company. This is bad business, and I would never recommend this company.

My experience with this Door and Trim Store was exhausting. It was so many issues with them. It's…read morehard to figure out where to start. They sell you products that their not familiar with, and will not replace anything after the fact. If you order anything from the store, make sure you double check it when you get it before you install it because they take no responsibility or fault for missing items on products. The doors were good, but the biggest issue I had was with their pocket door and barn door. I asked them about a pocket door that would extend across a certain size opening. They said they had two panel pocket doors, which I thought was a great idea. Well, the pocket door came without some hardware, and after 2-3 trips back to the store, we kept receiving the incorrect hardware, and we ended up paying for this incorrect hardware because they would not give it to us as part of the purchase. In order to make a long story short, the installer they requested, kept reminding us that we did not have all the hardware for the install. Currently, I have a two pane pocket door that is not secure. You need two hands to extend it out, and you can look in behind it and see all the dust and debris from the installation. They provided nothing that would shield you from seeing inside of the pocket door when it was open. Use them if you like, but just be aware that there are no refunds, and double check that you have all your hardware and pieces for any type of installation. We even ordered a barn door that was missing some screws for installation.

I told him to refund me the frames and get me a price on the handles. He told me the handles were the same price as the frames (hard to believe) I asked for a refund for the frames and they said all orders were final and no refunds are issued. They have terrible customer service UPDATE. After several bad reviews written on multiple sites I got a refund but the quality of the doors are not worth the money

I would not recommend this company…read more Our sales representative was great, but almost everything after the sale was a completely different experience. Our Milgard windows arrived at K&J's warehouse on time, yet the owner and office continued telling us they had not arrived. I eventually confirmed through one of their installers that the windows were already there. Only after I called K&J and told them I knew they had been delivered did the story change. I was then told installation would be more than another month away. Before ordering, K&J sent out the installer the owner described as their "best installer" because our job was complicated. He inspected everything beforehand to confirm measurements, window types, and installation requirements. After our windows arrived, we learned the installers we had been working with were no longer working with K&J. We were told K&J had a major installation backlog and had hired another crew. That crew subsequently stopped working with them as well. The delays and misinformation we had been receiving suddenly made much more sense. Things became worse when I met the owner. He was extremely rude and dismissive toward my wife. While walking the project with another installer, he repeatedly interrupted everyone and told them to stop talking and listen to him because he knew what he was doing. He then announced that ALL of our windows were wrong, blamed the installers who had left, and said K&J could no longer complete our job and would have to refund us. At this point, WE HAD ALREADY WAITED OVER SIX MONTHS. With the owner standing there, I asked the installer directly if the windows were actually wrong. He disagreed with the owner and explained why they could be installed correctly. At that point, I completely lost confidence in K&J and chose to have the original installers complete the job independently--the same installers the owner and sales representative had previously praised as their best people. I also learned K&J sells the windows but uses subcontractors for installation. Anyone considering them should get clear answers IN WRITING about exactly who will install your windows and who is responsible for installation workmanship, repairs, and warranty issues. The final straw came when we picked up our windows from their warehouse. The owner, his son, and other employees were there. Their behavior toward both me and the installers was rude, confrontational, aggressive, and incredibly unprofessional. Comments made during that interaction also reinforced my belief that customers were being told their windows had not arrived when the actual problem was K&J's installation backlog. The Milgard windows themselves were never the problem. They arrived as expected, and our initial sales experience was good. The problems were K&J's communication, scheduling, management, treatment of customers and installers, and the owner's handling of our project. What was even more concerning was what happened when we started sharing our experience with friends, family, and others in our neighborhood. Multiple people told us they had the SAME OR VERY SIMILAR experiences with K&J. Some actually told us they wished they had known we were considering K&J beforehand because they would have warned us not to use them. I really wish we had talked to them first. After more than SIX MONTHS of waiting, contradictory information, multiple installation crews leaving, being told our windows weren't there when they were, and ultimately being told K&J couldn't complete the job, we had enough. I have dealt with many contractors and businesses over the years and have rarely experienced leadership and customer service this poor. Based on our experience--and after hearing remarkably similar stories from people we personally know--I would absolutely NOT use K&J Windows again or recommend them to friends, family, or neighbors.
