I've been thrifting for many years, and unfortunately this store is no longer one of my regular stops. Over time I've noticed prices steadily increasing to the point that many items are priced at or above what I can find online. In my experience, pricing often appears to be based on asking prices rather than actual sold values, which makes it difficult to find genuine thrift-store bargains. Many collectible items seem to remain in the display case for weeks or months without selling, suggesting the pricing may not reflect current market demand. Selection can be hit or miss, and I rarely leave feeling like I've found a great deal anymore. While some staff members have always been kind and helpful, the overall shopping experience feels much less welcoming and community-oriented than it once did. As someone who both shopped and donated here, I've decided to take my business and future donations elsewhere. We have been loyal customers of the Deuce ever since we moved here two years ago. It is one of the better second hand stores. There's not much to it. Folks donate junk they don't want, we show up and buy it. Charities benefit. If they've over priced, we decide how badly we want it and factor in that all proceeds benefit a cause. This store is really well organized with a huge variety of junk. Prices are great, especially for clothes. They have a massive dvd and book collection. Even a nice selection of Alaska based writings. Take care, remember it's donated stuff other people didn't want. Sometimes that means damaged or in need of repair. Buy accordingly. I know it's for a cause, but there are times when it's fun to dicker, especially when something's broke and so are we! I've bought cool shot glasses, growlers, tools and OSU Buckeye dolls. As far as second hand stores in Alaska go- you're not going to find a better one. This store is huge, incredibly and thoughtfully organized, and has an extensive selection. The only negative part about the store is it is for profit and does not benefit the needy. But in a sense it does because clothing is SO Expensive in Alaska, it really is a blessing to find a place like this. Not only do they have clothing, but they have baby stuff, scrubs, bridal gowns, suits, Halloween costumes, rainwear, tons of sporting gear, kitchen and house stuff, books, dads, cds and albums, bikes and strollers. read more

I am living out of my truck and I asked if I can have a frying pan and the manager looked "pained" when I asked. She said she would get back with me. She came back and said that she can't help me out and we don't even have any right now. I saw two on the shelf. They get given so much and it makes me sad. I have shopped here and donated for over a decade. When I'm on my feet I won't be back. read more

I was underwhelmed, to say the least. I grew up going to this Bishop's Attic on Saturday drives and it was never top notch but it was better than it is now. Some parts look pretty well organized, while others are totally out of order. There was a room full of shoes and then two rooms later there was a rack of shoes. The sign on the door said masks mandatory but the staff were not wearing masks. The place was a grubby mess. They had some decent looking furniture and a good sized children's section. read more

I find that you don't have to wear a mask but bathrooms are off limits to customers which is odd.

So disappointed with the horrible customer service at this place. They have decent prices with decent items but unfortunately the staff is so incredibly nasty. Every visit I either experience or hear a staff member being rude for no apparent reason. I've worked retail so I understand the hardships of customer service, but none of them give a shit about their job and it shows. For example, There are no signs that the dressing room closes 15 minutes before they store closes, and they don't have any announcement (at least they didn't this evening). I asked to try on some items 20 minutes before the store closed and they refused. They told me they closed at 6:45PM, I checked my phone and it was 6:40PM so I told her it was 5 minutes before closing and I only had a few tips and she shrugged/rolled her eyes and said it was 6:45PM by her clock. My mom was with me and asked her again and she didn't even respond and just rolled her eyes. There was no manager on duty and it was blatantly obvious the only thing this staff member cared about was leaving. I most likely would've bought everything I had to try on, so it's really sad that because of their nasty. I'm shocked that a charitable organization would treat people so poorly. My money will be going towards businesses that treat people with respect and has decent customer service and I recommend you do the same. read more

Cute and clean little thrift shop! Has a good selection of women's clothing (even a plus size section). There's furniture and movies/books in the back. Not a good selection of children's clothes though, it's not super organized and I only found one piece of clothing in my sons size (18 months). Prices were decent (better than Goodwill or Value Village) but their fitting rooms were closed and they said they don't do returns unless it's electronics I think. Thank goodness the clothes I bought all fit! I'd come back! Maybe I came at a wrong time for kids clothes. read more

I may be a little hasty in this 5 star review as I've only been one time. Every now and then I decide to drive the old Glenn highway for a scenic slow drive to Palmer. This time I decided to check out a thrift store before heading back to Anchorage and this is the first one that Google came up with and I'm so glad it did. Every area was well partitioned and organized. The coats and some clothes that I looked at were in decent condition. I found a brand new pair of shoes for $4, and almost bought an emulsifier for $6 (I'm really regretting not buying it now). I will come again, and hopefully soon. read more

Love this thrift store. Not as fancy in decor as some of the other thrift stores, but that reflects in the prices which are more reasonable and affordable for the low-income person. Inventory turns over rapidly which means they almost always have something new to see. I stop by here on a regular basis to look through the junk and when I'm getting rid of stuff, this is where I usually donate it. They have a nice book selection. Magazines are free. Everything is usually reasonably priced and it's an interesting assortment of small town cast-offs. They don't accept debit/credit cards so bring cash or a check. This has been my go to spot for many years. I just love how clean the building is which means a lot for a second hand store! Bishop's Attic in Palmer has everything but why I go time and time again is their records! I don't think they realize the deals they are just giving away. The Palmer Bishop's Attic is a great thrift shop. They have tons of stuff and everything is marked clearly with a price and if it's clothing, the size is marked on masking tape on the clothing so you can clearly and quickly see it. They have furniture, tons o' kitchen crap, lots of good books and toys. They have lots of nice clothes and I saw several nice designer (but vintage) suits and jackets (if you are a size 4-6 petite you need to get out there right away!). I don't think any of She Who Was Once Governor's wardrobe is there but there are plenty of other nice clothes. The clothes in particular are displayed in a way that makes it easy to find everything quickly. I bought my kid a pair of jeans for $3. The prices are low and have stayed about the same over the years. Other places, like Salvation Army have jacked their prices up in the past year to the point where I won't step foot in the places now on principle alone. I mean, this is used "stuff" that could have been in a meth-lab house, right ? So don't expect me to pay half the price of new...I want dirt cheap or I wouldn't come here...and at Bishop's Attic you get "dirt cheap" . Good place to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. read more

I've been going to Bishops Attic in Palmer since I was a little kid. I'm grown now with little kids of my own and it's still a go to stop when I'm thrift store shopping. The building is old (as most buildings in Palmer are) but it's not dingy and grimy. They do tend to get a lot of old and outdated items, but I never fail to find something for a great price. Recently it was a pair of kids Merrels that retail for $45-$60 new depending on where you buy them. The pair we picked up were in almost new condition and cost me a whopping $3. Can't beat that when your kid is growing like a weed. No, I'm not nor have ever been an employee and I don't live in Palmer or only shop in Palmer. I make the trip because it's worth it. It may not have the fancy, big, new facility that value village has, but they aren't pricing their stuff as high as value village does. I can get a pair of jeans at Bishops Attic for $6.50 that Value Village is charging $14.99+ for used. I definitely recommend them if your out for a day of thrift shopping! read more
