My family has been shopping at David's Jewelers since they were in the Northway Mall and it was a great mall to shop in... now that's a long time!! From purchases to repair, they offer it all! I've used them most recently for repairs, bother earrings and a necklace. My everyday wear diamond earrings had stripped out a post and they replaced both of them with locking backs, which is fabulous. Along with that, a vintage necklace that I regularly wear from my late MiL broke and I was able to pick out a similar chain that didn't take away from the pendant and kept the original integrity of it for me. They're very knowledgeable, kind and helpful! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for jewelry needs!! read more

I went to David's on a whim since I was planning on getting engaged soon and wanted ideas. David's has the classic sets that every other store has, but what grabbed me was the jewelry on the other side of the shop. Here, there are so many beautiful pieces, new and vintage that don't exactly scream "classic engagement!" , but they can help you decide on shape, color, fit, and everything else you could look for in jewelry. These folks did a nice job resizing three rings for me, including my wedding set. Their counter staff was thorough and flagged any potential increases to cost there might be, like whether they would have to remove nearly 20 smaller band stones because we were going more than a full size smaller. They helped educate me about my jewelry and did maintenance on my older ring free of charge. I feel they were fairly priced, thorough, considerate, and fast; they got the work done within a week. I was in and out at around 10 min. I recently bought a new watch and needed it resized and a replacement pin since I tried to do it myself and lost it. Lol. Best part was that it only cost me $10!! I trusted the reviews I read about this jeweler but, unfortunately for me, I cannot leave a stellar review. I brought a ring in to be resized and, while in the store, I was encouraged by the employee to have my wedding band and engagement ring soldered together which I decided to go ahead and do. I paid up front for both charges. When I picked up my rings a few days later, I noticed that my wedding and engagement rings were not soldered together evenly (see photo) giving it a lopsided appearance. When I pointed this out to the same employee, he gave me several reasons why it was the best they could do. One reason was, they would've had to use more metal making it more expensive. I wish that they would have called me to discuss options before moving forward with the soldering because now it's too late. If I want to fix the uneven look I risk damaging the rings because they'd need to be unsoldered. Again, all it would have taken on their part was to call me ahead of time before proceeding with soldering the rings together unevenly. Very unprofessional. I am sad and feel helpless that my rings look the way they do together. Go elsewhere for this particular service or at least be specific about how the final product will look. I feel a reputable jeweler never would have put the rings together in this lopsided way. read more

Amazing work and prices! I live in Kodiak and needed a jeweler to fix a diamond band that broke and replace two lost diamonds from a sapphire old ring. I called another place and was told they only work on jewelry they sell. Seriously. So then I called Davids and they said to bring the rings in when I'm in Anchorage and they would ship them back to me when they were done. They charged me very little to fix the broken band and $50 for sizing my other ring. In the end I had them replace all the diamonds in the sapphire ring with a better quality stones all around. I felt the price was very fair. I'm a huge jewelry lover (as you can see I've reviewed a few jewelry places on yelp) and have only lived in Alaska a year so I know what the prices are in the lower 48. David's has NO "Alaska markup" that I've found for other things. I will be back next time I'm in Anchorage to get a quote on a custom ring I want. read more

They let me know that rose gold was extremely delicate and to be careful especially with the design I have. We live in Juneau and had a so-so experience with our local jeweler that left us searching for someone within the state to create a custom engagement ring and wedding band from family stones. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted and were able to email pictures to Sean and Vern who were both wonderful and responsive. Our plans to travel up to get the rings left them with 15 days to complete the set and they knocked it out of the park! Sean sent us pictures of the wax molds and they were perfect, he really got into our heads to deliver exactly what we wanted. He stayed late the day before we wanted to pick them up and called us to let us know they were done. We walked into the shop for the first time, because we had mailed the original rings up and only communicated by email and phone, where we were greeted very kindly; they recognized my voice! When they brought out my rings I made a series of ridiculous, gleeful noises because they were sooooo perfect I couldn't even believe my eyes, my fiancé was beaming because they are even more spot-on than he could have imagined! We believe we got a really fair and reasonable price on the custom set, a mere fraction of what we were quoted by the folks here in Juneau. They bought the old settings at scrap prices so that was easy. We were really comfortable in the shop and enjoyed chatting with all of the staff. My fiancé ended up picking out his band after about 5 minutes of looking, that's on order from the manufacturer and will be engraved before they send it down to us. Overall seriously quality people and product. Very knowledgeable and helpful for those of us who don't know very much about jewelry. I have been going to David's Jewelers and have always been happy with the work they have done. I had an 18K gold and diamond ring that was in pieces. I didn't hold out much hope that could be repaired. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up. It was beautiful. You couldn't tell it was ever broken. No job was ever too small.
