I noticed that fruits and vegetables are now being sold pre-batched in baskets, without allowing customers to choose their own produce. I attempted to purchase Champagne mangoes, which were packaged in sets of two. In every batch, one mango was clearly good while the other was rotten or overripe. I tried to pick 2 good mangoes instead, and without warning, a short heavy set woman came up behind me, pushed me, snatched the mangoes out of my hands, and told me I had to purchase them "as is." I was then told they were "only $1 each," as if customers should accept rotten produce simply because it is inexpensive. No customer should be treated this way, especially loyal shoppers who have supported this business for years. Selling spoiled produce bundled with good produce and expecting customers to pay for both feels dishonest and unfair. Buyers should be aware of what is happening here.
