I attended a baby shower on Sat and cannot believe how rude the lady was, she actually told me go to the table and get a plate she did not have any more plates for food. I want to share my experience so others can make an informed decision. I rented a catering hall managed by Michelle (owner), and unfortunately, it turned into a very stressful situation. Throughout the process, I was promised communication and meetings with different staff members, but no one ever followed through. Several times I was told someone would contact me, and they simply never did. The lack of professionalism was overwhelming. I also received contracts that did not match the amounts I had already paid in deposits, which made me extremely uncomfortable. & I refused to sign them so she said she was seizing any communication unless I signed it, As the event got closer, the situation kept getting more confusing and disorganized. Just seven days before my daughter's celebration, I was forced to find another venue at the last minute, which cost me additional money and caused a lot of unnecessary stress for my family. I later learned that others have had similar issues, including a friend of mine. I truly wish I had known this beforehand. Planning a Sweet 16 is a big deal in our community--we save, we plan, and we put our hearts into creating something special for our daughters. Instead, this experience left us disappointed and financially impacted. I am requesting a refund for the deposits I paid, and I hope no one else has to go through the same experience I did. Worse place ever‼‼This Hall is now in Farmingdale NY on Broadhollow rd (route 110) worse then ever .. I was there last night for a sweet 16 as a guest. And not only were the flowers on the table old and dusty( the fake ones). The real ones look like they have been sitting there for weeks and she added roses. The hall was divided into 2 parts. So when the exchange of the ceremony was happening and the hosts was talking on the mic the music from the other party was loud and clear on our end that no one heard what was being said or what was going on. Then to top it all off the fire alarm was set off no one know by whom or which of the two parties and everyone had to exit the building except for her staff, to my surprise her staff stayed in the building and the guess had to wait to be cleared by the fire department. Which took and hour or so and we got surprised once again back in the building where her staff cleared the room of the tables and chairs. But the hall was booked until 12:00 and it was 11:00 by the time they let us back in .. which makes me wonder if the owner pulled the alarm hoping the fire department would take longer.. also the guess from the other party in the other room where coming into our space and helping them selfs to our food and drinks. Witnessed by myself and other guess. The hall is there to make your experience unforgettable to the host and guess and not in a good way at all. making the host that spends so much money and time to making there event prefect and they make it look trashy and horrible with no consideration or care for the host. read more

Came here for a baby shower. The location of the place is in high traffic area. Good thing there is parking in the back, specifically for Bisou. The outside is very nice. Inside is very spacious and great things can be done with it. Also, apparently they set up for your; providing decor, chairs, backdrop etc. My issue was with the staff. The "bartender" left his post for about 10-15 minutes and we had to wait to be served, soda and water included. There was another female staff working near the bar but she would not serve us, saying we needed to wait. 30 minutes before the party was to end, staff started breaking down the decorations in the middle of folk partying: removing center pieces while ppl were seated at tables, putting up new tables for another event, (I was at a baby shower) they event took the "mommy chair" away from my friend. It was crazy. And then! They started asking ppl to get up from tables because they needed to rearrange them for the event coming in. Where do I begin ? I had a birthday party here, the entire process was stressful . I probably should have read the reviews before I put a down payment on this venue . I never had the opportunity to pick out what I wanted as far as the decor. I gave a theme and never picked out anything. I was sent a bill for over $5400 just for decor , keep in mind I didn't get the opportunity to sit down with the "Decorator" and say "yay or nay" to what my vision was. The communication process was terrible , everything is through email . The female owner was so rude, her customer service skills is in the garbage. This really change my mind on working with black businesses. I felt like they were acting like they were doing me a favor, I don't ask for favors or discounts . A customer paying good money shouldn't walk away thinking "that was a waste of time or money" For the service I received I walked away thinking I was overcharged and underwhelmed by everything . The servers were also rude , but if the leader treats people like sh*t , I shouldn't expect better. I said over and over my family will pass out the food , day of the party I was TOLD the servers have to put chairs away and was charged for two rude people at my celebration . These guys were rolling their eyes , ignoring and being rude . Somehow they began serving before we could call up tables or even pray over the meal. Not to mention many of my guests stated how rudely they were treated . I was truly annoyed by so much . I also didn't like the way the bar was handled , I will leave it right there because Damon is actually the nicest of them all . We pay so much money to rent yet they can't even provide ice . Do better black business owners, stop nickel and dimming us for every single thing . .Providing ice will not make or break your business . Being courteous to the people who support your business will not diminish your business . Treat customers how you want to be treated . Treat us like you treat your non black customers .We work just as hard if not harder for our money too . I've been to this event space on three occasions. The first event I went to was my best friends baby shower and the event was beautiful. Beautiful enough to make me consider holding my wedding here. However I was quickly shown how truly unprofessional and lackadaisical their staff/owner is. I had set up an appointment to view the location for the wedding and they cancelled without notifying me. I drove 45 minutes for no reason and they didn't even care. Now on to the very last time -- over the weekend my bestfriend decided to go with bisou again and have her daughter's first birthday party here. What a nightmare! She was promised the perfect Sesame Street themed event space for children and got a freezing cold space with a sprinkle of decorations. The owner wasn't even there the entire time, she ignored all calls and messages/emails, etc! To top it off there were decorations in the event space from a previous event. Insanely tacky! $2500 worth of misery! I feel so bad for my friend because her memory of her daughters first birthday party is now forever ruined. I wouldn't suggest anyone to book this venue. First and foremost, the staff are extremely rude and not informative to my vendor. The lady was extremely rude and cursed out my vendor that was there for my event. Save your time and money and go somewhere else that will be nicer to your guest and vendor. Secondly, the place smells like mildew and very dirty. They were not ready and prepared for my event. They made my guest wait outside in the cold because the horrible DJ was not prepared and was still setting up 5 mins prior to my event. If i could give this crappy place zero star I would. It does not deserve a star at all the way they treated my guests and vendor. After 30 mins of guest arrival, she had her rude staff bring out tables and chairs to set up which should have been done prior the the event starting. Hello Michele Cole, Where do we begin, at first I followed you on social media and admired all the work you've previously done. When I reached out to you for you to do my sons communion party I was filled with excitement and joy at working with a black owned business. When it came down to the details you perfectly captured what I wanted. When it came down for you to send me the contract and other details I wasn't hesitant and paid more then the initial deposit amount. When we noticed the slight change in weather, I got in contact with you and you were more than happy to accommodate me on such a short notice. Sadly this is where things started going wrong. On Friday the tent contractors were not on time, we went to Bisou and when we got there, there was no one there to help us and we had to wait over 15 minutes for someone which inconvenienced me and my time schedule and on top of that the employee had a very unpleasant attitude with my husband. On Saturday, Jump Around Party Rental was scheduled to come around 8/9am and didn't show up till 8:05 pm. Almost 12 hours later. This is very unprofessional to me because you guys are not working in a scheduled time frame. I also had to pay an additional $350 out of pocket for another 10x20 tent. Now on Sunday, the Party Rental people were finally on time but only because my husband had to contact the driver in advance. Around 11:30 or 12 you and your team came to do a set up and the bouquet we initially spoke about was not the bouquet you brought to my party instead it was from a previous party you had on Saturday in which you just added some of my roses in there. From the beginning I told you I was having a "communion" but the balloons you ordered said "christening". I texted you about it and you brushed it off as a simple mistake but it's not simple and made me very upset there is a big difference between christening and communion. Now your cake vendor did not show up until 4:15pm, only 45 minutes before my event had to start, plus there was no stand for the cake and desserts. On top of that he wanted to charge me an additional $95 deposit for the cake stand and cupcakes, he brought them out, did a set up and took pictures took it down and then put my desserts back in a box. Thank God because I had my own cake stand and improvised my own set up on the spot. Now with all of these issues, all of your vendors and suppliers being late and very unprofessional, what would my event have looked like if I originally have had it on Saturday? The flowers at my party looked dead but the party you had the night before and the one after my event, their flowers were looking very fresh and perky. With all these little mistakes it was very unprofessional. We are going through a pandemic and money is tight for everyone but I paid you, your vendors and staff well including tip and I am very unsatisfied with your service. I have pictures as proof for the flowers and cake, the best part of your entire service was the clean linen. I believe I deserve some type of credit or refund because it was not a pleasant experience. Timeframe is crucial when party planning as well as having common curtesy and exceptional customers service. You are still a lovely person and I enjoyed talking on the phone with you this isn't meant to offend you but to let you know so maybe you can prevent it from happening to next customer. If you are even remotely thinking about using BISOU in Lindenhurst for your next function please pm me for more information. They refuse to return my deposit of $1000 that was made in August, and cancelled in January, for a function at the end of April. They never responded to give us the name of photographer, videographer, DJ, etc. We knew the name of the caterer but he never returned calls so we could have a food tasting. So 5 months go by and we still didn't know who was going to be working at my sons wedding. As per the contract it says we have use of the kitchen and Refrigerator, there is no refrigeration for the wedding cake and no kitchen that clearly states in the contract that we have use of. So that is why we cancelled. We asked for the deposit back since there was no effort or work made on their part to get us vendors. They refused said they wanted to go to court. They were supposed to send me a statement that we would not be liable for balance. Never received it and they said it was sent. Still have not received it. A terrible way to do business. read more

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! I will start off with the positives. It is a nice event space and depending on how you decorate it, you can throw a lovely event. Now for the negatives. I signed a contract to utilize the space for six hours. One hour to set up, a four-hour event, and one hour to clean up. Since I had a lot of items in numerous cars to unpack and set up, I asked if I could get there 15 minutes early to unload the cars so I could start decorating exactly on time, which they agreed to. I walked in the establishment 10 minutes prior to my contractual time. The end of the night comes, and its clean up time. We clean up as quickly as possible, but being the type of person, I am, I ensure that I over clean the space. I cleaned more than was necessary. While I was walking out at 12:05 AM I took a video of how I left the space. The following day, I am checking my email and I see a notification from my bank that my credit card was charged $250 at 12:00 AM on the dot by the establishment. I find this odd, so I reach out to the venue. I was told that I left at 12:17 AM so, they kept half of the deposit. I was told quote on quote by the bartender/manager/owner (Mr. Swinson) that they must've pulled the video footage from the cameras and verified that I left at that time, and they charged me afterwards. When I confronted him with the documentation regarding my credit card alert and the video verifying that I was indeed out by 12:05 AM and proceeded to ask to see this video footage of me leaving at 12:17 AM, his whole demeaner changed. My credit card was charged at 12:00 AM, the time stamped video of me walking out was at 12:05 AM, I got in my car and called my husband via my car's Bluetooth system at 12:10 AM as I was pulling out of the parking lot, and my sister called me at 12:15 AM while we were driving home. After some choice words by him, all of a sudden, he reviewed my contract, and it was an older version and I would be receiving $150 back. Please someone tell me how five (5) minutes justifies $250??? Or even $100? I could understand if the party ran over or we were hanging out, but that was not the case. The whole entire hour was spent packing up, folding their tables, stacking their chairs, and cleaning. There was no event scheduled after my event and there was literally ONE employee there cleaning up as we were cleaning, so the five minutes couldn't have stalled their operation. So once again how does five minutes justify $250? In addition, the sheer audacity of him trying to lie on me. To make things worse, when I told him I would be writing a review, he became irate. Enlightening people with a real-life occurrence is not slander Mr. Swinson, its merely stating the facts. That was the first and last time that I use this establishment. I have thrown over 25 events at various venues throughout Long Island in the last five years alone, I know how the business works. This was not my first time at the rodeo. Everything I have stated timewise has been done at all the other establishments and not one time have they charged us a penny because ultimately, they think of the longevity of their business. Bad business moves equals lost revenue. I hope the lies and the $250 were worth the thousands of dollars that you could've generated from my family and associates. Do not go to this place !!! i had my baby shower here and it was beautiful. She told me to come back for my daughters first bday n she would give me 20% off i was happy to come back. If only you could've seen what i seen after paying my hard earned $$. I walked in to tables and balloons and a cardboard sign nothing else!! She promised me a kids area which was nowhere to be found ! i walked in to no lights on! no heat on, and a floor with a bunch of stickers plastered around ! she literally put tables and chairs n placed some balloons on top of every table. There was creases in all of the table cloths. The desert table was a table with a bare yellow sheet! i thought i was in a horror movie ! on top of that she promised me a bluetooth loud speaker i can use that blew out on me mid party. it stayed 62 degrees in there based off the monitor for a whole 4 hours! i kept asking them to turn up the heat n i didn't see the temperature even budge ! a kids party freezing! i explained how i felt to her team n she didn't reach out to me not once. Let me start off by saying the decor was amazing, very elegant and very neat. The staff is very rude and pushy. They pick up garbage with plastic bags while your sitting at your table. They had people dressed in regular clothes walking through the event. The lady with the dreads was very nasty. 5 people complained about her right when I walked through the door. The bride paid for a bridal suite and then the day of they renigged and said she never booked it. The lady with the dreads argued with me in front of the wedding party. If someone is renting the space why are you saying they on a time limit and you telling all of the guest what to do. Very unprofessional Very nasty service. I would rate them a 0. No kitchen. No order. And no respect. DO NOT DO NOT BOOK THEM!!! Bisou should just downgrade to a decor establishment and leave the venue to someone else. That way they dont have to interact with people. Oh my goodness This event space deserves a big fast O. Please save yourself and your guests from embarrassment. Attended my niece's wedding yesterday held at this place. The owner was rude, staff we're disorganized and seem to have no sense of direction. They lost the seating chart and called the groom 1/2 hour before the event began to ask for another emailed copy. They didn't go along with the specification of the requested decor. The food was cold. They served half the room salad but did not serve the bridal table nor the rest of the room. I personally witnessed them dumping the rest of the salad because they were in a hurry to start serving dinner. Bar tender and a female worker were rude. The so called security was rude. They barely filled the water glasses once and never did again. Guests were parched. They were stingy on the liquor even though it was provided by the bride's father.
