I have to get my Dad here. The Steak Tartare was outstanding! I got together with some old friends I used to work with and my old boss recommended this place. So glad he did! Our waiter Kumar was excellent! On point with a great sense of humor. I thanked him for being so patient with us while we made up our minds on what to order and he said that's what he is. A WAIT er! Hahaha! Only Harold & I ordered apps. I got the steak tartare and Harold ordered the Kobe beef meatball which he shared with Pat. I tasted the meatball, it was so good. Huge but tender. But my steak tartare was the favorite dish of the night. I like the fact that the beef was finely cubed and the seasoning was different from others that I have had but quite delicious. The shredded truffle was a nice touch. The Stracciatella cheese was more abundant than expected but not overpowering. We all ordered different entrées, chicken Parm, a Seabass that was on special, the salmon dish and I got the veal chop All of us loved our dishes. I didn't taste the other entrées so I can't comment on them, but they all looked amazing but my Veal Chop was definitely worth coming back for! My last review was six years ago, and I'm happy to say Trento is still doing things right. We arrived around 6 PM on a Friday night and, as always, the huge parking lot is a big plus. On Long Island, easy parking can make or break a night out, and Trento definitely delivers there. We grabbed seats at the large, comfortable bar and enjoyed a couple glasses of wine. We let our server pick for us, and both choices were excellent. For food, we split the fig, gorgonzola, and prosciutto salad. Beautifully presented and full of flavor. For our entrée, we shared a pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage--another solid dish. But the real standout might have been the focaccia bread. Honestly, some of the best I've ever had--fresh, light, and incredibly delicious. Great food, a comfortable atmosphere, and nice to see a place remain consistently good after all these years. Visited on a Saturday night with another couple. Came in with a reservation, modern look inside, this may sound odd, but it seemed like a lot of light for the ambience. We skipped the apps and went straight to the mains. Starting with the highs - The porterhouse was bathed in butter and melt in your mouth. First time dining at Trento Italian Steakhouse in East Farmingdale, and it was a great experience. The seating was excellent, our family of four loved the booth area. The best time to dine is around 5pm, otherwise, it fills up quickly and the wait can be a bit longer. The restaurant is romantic, clean, and spacious. Our server, Rich, was wonderful. We started with the octopus appetizer and the giant meatball! Both were delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine (why not? The kids were keeping us on our toes). For our main dishes, I had the wild swordfish, my husband ordered the steak with mashed potatoes, and both our children got the mac and cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were a party of 9 and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. Many in our party ordered the lamb chops that was a special and they were delicious. I had the Pappardelle with the wild boar ragu which was also delicious. Everyone loved the oysters both raw and baked. I had the Toscana salad. Very good and the charred artichokes were very tasty. The red wine was chosen by my brother in law and it was fantastic. My SIL had the meatball as an appetizer and we each were able to get a taste - it was huge. Fantastic. We all agreed that it was as good as grandma's meatballs. Very busy with large parties for a Wednesday evening. Service was close to great. A few hiccups, but nothing major (i.e., waiting for salt and pepper, error on order so one person in our party had to wait while the correct order was prepared, desserts (melting ice cream) sitting on tray and not being served) - the busser did not speak English so we were unable to communicate with him. Overall, a positive experience and we look forward to going back! Unfortunately, no phones (family rule) at the table so no pics. read more

Insanely good!!!!! My family and I dined here last night using a gift card we received as a gift. My husband drives by this place a lot and always wanted to try it. I'm so glad we went! The bread that was brought out was warm and yummy! Loved the olive oil they served with it. For our appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. The squid was huge and more than enough. A little crushed red pepper but not too much. Although not on the menu, I ordered penne Ala vodka. My husband ordered the rigatoni dish and my daughter ate rigatoni with pomodoro. Oh my goodness, every single meal was outstanding. My sauce was so flavorful and the rigatoni was huge! It was so filling for a dish I thought I'd need more of. My daughter's dish was cooked perfectly and my husband loved his. I had a scoop of the chocolate gelato which was so nice and creamy. Only improvement could have been our waiter. My family and I went there for an early dinner last night, and I left there never wanting to go back. I will say that the food was exceptional, however the service was awful. We spent $1,000 for dinner and was bum rushed out of there. It started when the waiter was annoyed that our drink order wasn't ready when he came over. We were getting two bottles of wine and there was a discussion as to which red and which white would go best with the meals that we were planning. After we gave our wine order, we proceeded to order appetizers and dinner. The appetizers came and they were delicious. The problem was that half of us were still eating our appetizers when dishes were being cleared and the leftover appetizer for the table was being boxed up. We were being rushed to finish. Almost immediately, our entrées were brought out, and again the food was delicious, however, people were still eating, and they were trying to get everything boxed up before the table was finished. It was so incredibly rude. We probably would've spent more money if we were allowed to actually sit and enjoy our meals and digest a little bit in between the appetizer and the main course by buying another bottle of wine. Also more of us probably would've ordered dessert if we weren't so upset by the service we were receiving. Part of the experience of eating out is the atmosphere and the service...not just about the food tastes. I don't care how good the food was...I'm never going back. read more

We finally visited Trento on Valentine's Day. We had seen it on Instagram and had it been wanting to go for quite some time. We ordered the dishes that we had seen on Instagram, including the truffle pasta, the filet mignon, the brussels sprouts, and the chocolate cake. The food and wine were incredible. The servers were pretty amazing too. The ambience was perfect for a romantic date. This place is however, pretty pricey, so save it for a special occasion. We will be back. read more

From start to finish this place was phenomenal. We were treated by who I believe was the manager, who gave us a great place to sit where the kids can run around as well without bothering other customers so it was a little corner for us which was really nice. Our waiter Manny, was also incredibly wonderful. The food was delicious and the portions were great as we had plenty to bring home. The waiter was very attentive to our needs and checked in on us periodically. One thing we really liked was the fact that, we had all ordered coffees except for my mom. When he came back, she changed her mind and wanted a coffee and he made sure to serve her first before he served anybody else which we thought was amazing. This is something cultural and is not taught so this was great. He was very attentive to my three-year-old as well which was also great. I am giving this place five stars because I did notice that the facility did not have a diaper change station. However to accommodate for that, the waiter did clear a back table and sanitize that down so that we can change our son's diaper and gave us privacy to do so. And when we were leaving the facility they noticed that one of us had left our bags behind and brought it to our car which was also great. We will be going back here again. read more

Although it's located on a busy thoroughfare, once inside you are transported to a cozy environment. Our server, Leo and his team were attentive anticipating when they should serve the next course. For dinner we started off with the crab cakes appetizer. The crab cakes were very flavorful and came accompanied with two sauces and a pineapple relish. I really liked the chipotle mayo sauce and the pineapple relish paired with the crab. For the entree I chose the Troffolini pasta dish which had a creamy truffle oil sauce with purses of pasta filled with ricotta cheese and delicate pear with additional slices of pear on top. It is not only pleasant to the eye, but also very tasty with the combinations of flavor. This is one dish you must order. Overall we had a great meal and the service was great.
