They served her a banana bread with caramelized sugar, bananas, and raspberry drizzle birthday dessert. It was quite tasty. The ambience was really, really nice, especially the tables in the sand right above the water and crashing waves. The staff was awesome too. Very helpful and polite. Our only gripe is that dinner took an unusually long time to arrive.

Their wood-fired grill is at the center on the menu here: grilled steaks, fresh seafood, shrimp and fish, pizzas, and pasta with shellfish. We particularly liked their chewy, wood fired prebete bread with their standout chimichurri, flavored with garlic, carrot, and red pepper, which were offered before our seafood entrees. The wine highlights Argentine wine like Malbec and Torrontés, but also Italian and Chilean wine. There is an excellent wine shop at the front of the restaurant, where you can pick up a bottle to go.) A complimentary dessert wine was offered with the check: a thoughtful finish to our meal here. Family-run and full of heart, Punta Mercedes is a good spot for sunset Argentine parrilla complete with a local surfers in view. Definitely recommended.

SUPER-Deli The scallop tostadas appetizer was more expensive than entree, worth every peso, the salsa is tongue numbing delicious My wife doesn't usually finishes the entree but the octopus platter was to good to leave anything on the plate. The restaurant sits directly on water and you're able to go out and enjoy the views before and/or after your meal. The staff was extremely pleasant. Inside the restaurant was very modern and chic, with a cool library theme. The restaurant itself is very upscale with a view of the kitchen as your meals are prepared. The food presentations were excellent and quality was nice but not my cup of tea for the entree (shrimp). I wish I could go back and reorder a steak or something different lol. It was just ok, but presentation made up for it! The bread was excellent and drinks were fun! I'd return but I highly recommend it for those wanting to get a change of pace from resort meals.

I'm Armenian and have grown up on these foods. The owner was extremely professional and we exchanged recipes on the shush kabab. I knew they marinated their lamb two-three days it was like butter. The french fries are giant and pillowy and perfectly fried. I like how the ketchup is served generously on the side and it tastes like actual Heinz, for all y'all fellow ketchup connoisseurs. The tiny halves d cherry tomato with parsley sprig is dressed with a touch of balsamic vinegar which is cute and yummy. Service is very attentive, with frequent refills of your drink and if you're a sports fan, American NFL can be seen playing on a smallish TV screen above the bar. Perhaps if they had a bigger screen with sound, I would be able to watch my beloved Houston Texans and upgrade to a 5 Estrella. Go JJ Watt! For dessert, I recommend the lemon pie, I didn't really like the local ice cream I got on previous visit. I recommend them highly!

Once you walk in, you're warmly greeted by the staff and the ambiance. The decor was strange with quirky wallpaper and art but somehow worked. As we made our way to the bigger tables in the back, we came across an atrium like dining area with tons of plants and open air near the grill. Not only is it beautiful, but it helps to make sure you won't walk out after dinner smelling like a barbecue! Much appreciated! We were handed a couple different menus - one for drinks and one for food (neither of which were enough for each of us to have one, so we shared). I will say the menu was a bit confusing since there are so many pages, each with only a few items on it. Also, we didn't know much, if anything, about the different Argentinian steak specialities which I think contributed to our confusion. As our orders finally started to arrive we realized that these portions are MASSIVE. None of our selections notated that they came with anything, but most of our came with a salad (also huge) and mine ended up coming with some homemade potato chips. Yum! I ordered the Bifo de Lomo which is a tenderloin (think filet mignon) and it was slap your mama good! It came sizzling in butter... need I say more? It comes a little rare and you can't change the temperature (I asked for medium rare, but they said it comes the way it comes). No biggie though, I just cut the steak up as soon as I get it and laid the slices on the sizzling plate. It cooked perfectly! Since we weren't sure if any of the dishes came with sides, my husband and I split the potato puree (otherwise known as mashed potatoes). They were also really delicious! We ended up having waaaaay too much food but the experience was amazing and my meal stands as one of the best steaks I've ever had. Definitely, DEFINITELY check this spot out when you are in Guadalajara!
