We're from LA so I feel like traveling for food is always hard - we come from some of the best places. I can not stop talking about La Madalena! The property is beautiful, the service is truly unmatched, and the food was incredible. I will come back to PV just to eat here again. Highly recommend!
Wow, what can I say? The service was wonderful. Christopher, our server, was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The bartender also did an amazing job, one of the best watermelon margaritas we've ever had! The food was equally impressive, everything was absolutely delicious. Also great atmosphere and just a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back!
The ambiance here is absolutely beautiful, you truly feel transported into a whole different environment with the perfect mix of dinner and nightlife vibes. The service was a solid 10/10, huge shoutout to Erick for making the experience unforgettable! From crafting drinks to consistently checking in on us, the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. And the food? Impeccable packed with flavor and perfectly portioned to leave you satisfied.
La Madalena is a beautiful, high-class steakhouse located in the Central Hotel Zone in Puerto Vallarta. The space is absolutely beautiful and the service is even better. I came in alone on a Thursday night at around 8 pm with no reservation and was lucky to be able to be seated at a high top table for two adjacent to the bar. I would definitely suggest getting a reservation as I quickly saw the dining room fill-up. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and kind. Upon sitting, I was greeted by my server, a tableside bartender, and a manager who explained everything. I was given the wine and cocktail lists and quickly made a selection based on the bartenders recommendation. He prepared my drink right in front of me and had a whole beautiful cart set-up. I got a tequila cocktail that was sweet and tart at the same time. It was really tasty. Next, I was given the food menu and my waiter came by to see if I had any question. I also received complimentary chips and salsa service. The chips were fresh and different than most I've tried. I think they may have been baked instead of fried. They also give you three different salsas that range from mild, medium, and hot. The medium was a creamy garlic sauce that was very tasty and unlike anything I've ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. My waiter also came by to present some of their seafood specials and to tell me about their beef. Again, a beautiful presentation and if I was with others, or more hungry, I would have gotten the large shrimp dish. The seafood and meat looked very fresh. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well, which only progressed throughout the meal. I ended up just getting the tuna tartare app to start, but I couldn't finish it and decided to end my meal earlier than expected. The tartare was tasty. It had a habanero-mango salsa that was kind of spicy to me. It also had watermelon and mango pieces, which really balanced everything. The best part about the service is that the waitstaff is never too far away if you need anything, but they aren't a bother. When I needed to go, my waiter gathered the remainder of my meal and gave me some fresh tortillas. My bill was $50, which wasn't too bad for a cocktail, sparkling water bottle, and honestly an entree sized app of tuna tartare. I'm sad I was unable to enjoy more, but would def recommend this place to anyone visiting PVR.
Simply, the best ribeye I have enjoyed in the longest time. Our waiter Diego was on top of everything and explained all their meat cuts and resolved any questions we had. Totally recommended.
Nice place for dinner amazing filet and everyone's dinner was great!!! We all loved the live music everything about this place was classy. The waitstaff offered excellent service, I would definitely recommend!!
Best food & service I've ever experienced! We came here with a group of 12 people and everything was PERFECT. The restaurant is a Tulum/ Toca Madera & Rosa Negra kind of vibe. There is valet parking which is convenient if you have a driver they can wait in the valet parking area. **warning if you have heels with a thin stiletto it WILL get stuck in between the platforms of the restaurant. The restaurants floor is wood platforms/deck style with tons of cracks for your heel to go through so make sure you wear a chunky heel or flat** Now we had a private room to the left corner of the restaurant this experience was absolutely phenomenal. We had a private bartender & waiter and they were all spot on with everything. The bartender made the drinks right in front of you as a nice show & EVERYTHING here turns out to be a show hahaha. I ordered the LimonCello and it's the best drink I've had in my life! There mixologist is so amazing came out perfect every time. Now for food we went all out & did it family style, we ordered there: king crab legs, Nigerian prawns, sashimi, tuna & queso funedo for appetizers. For dinner we ordered the porter house, Wagyu slices & two Wagyu tomahawks and they were all cooked to perfection. It was a group of 12 so we had it cooked till medium rare and then they put hot stones in the middle for you to finish searing your steak how you liked. The two tomahawks come with a side of asparagus, mashed potatoes and then they also keep the fat from the tomahawk and fry it up to make chicharron and serve it with guacamole and tortillas. We did order and overly excessive amount of food continually and our waiter was ALWAYS on top of it and always making sure we had our drinks filled with water and served everyone's food when something new came. Do yourself a favor and book this restaurant. Everything is top tier, service, food, ambiance & quality of food. Best place in puerto Vallarta!
My cousin recommended this restaurant and I had the most incredible time here! After an entree and two bottles of wine including tip the total came to just $50 a piece for the 4 of us which was shocking. Jose our server was fun and the most amazing guy!! Thanks Jose for making the night super special! I loved the ambiance, with dance music playing, the plants, beautiful decor it is definitely a place I highly recommend to check out over here!! I ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and it was delicious!!
Really great steakhouse ! Service was amazing ! Everything was delicious! We made reservations prior to our trip and everything went smoothly. They have a live DJ playing tunes as you eat, so the vibe was right. The steaks were amazing and so were the sides. We were so hungry that I couldn't snap more pictures. But I would definitely recommend coming.
Amazing! Should be a Michelin star! The food was fresh fast and delicious! The service fantastic! Quick and attentive! Attention to detail made this birthday experience memorable. The coconut drink was great branding. We had the cornbread cake and fought over the leftovers . Mocktails were cleverly served and designed. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. It's lively with a DJ playing great upbeat latin music. Great for parties and adult groups . Make reservations because this place is a hot spot.
Delicious food, beautiful location. Can walk from the ship port if not too hot, it's about a mile. Or grab a taxi right off the ship. You can pay with credit card, pesos or cash. Will for sure come back here on next cruise to PV!
Celebrated our birthday dinner here and it did not disappoint. From arrival, to seating, to drinks, to service - everything from start to finish was amazing. For 5 people, I think we spent just under $17,000 pesos. Steaks were flavorful, truffle fries weren't as good - all I tasted was parm cheese on top, but the mash, asparagus, and Brussels sprouts were all fire. Drinks - amazing, refreshing, and dangerous. Lol. The entire experience was a win in my book! You're paying not just for the food, but the quality, the attention to detail, the spaced and of course the service.

Take note that I am notoriously a miser when it comes to giving 5 star reviews because I think 5 stars = perfection and there's almost always something that can be done to improve the experience. But. But, but, but... I would actually give La Madalena SIX stars. Service and ambiance were truly outstanding. Food was equally exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like honored guests. Servers were plentiful, professional, humorous and attentive. Our primary server was Alexis and his service was stellar - not only did he attend to our every request with a smile - he anticipated and was proactive. We also had a table side mixologist whose name escapes me (sorry!) but he was wonderful as well - making suggestions and creating specialty drinks on the fly. The staff made us feel like the only customers in the restaurant. Five of us succumbed to "eyes bigger than stomach" and ordered way too much food. We found the extensive menu both challenging (because *everything* sounded delicious) and exciting. Our favorites included (but were not limited to these because every dish we tried was outstanding): the Ceviche de Coliflor, Queso Fundido, Queso Quemado, Ensalada Verde con Vinagreta de Aguacate, and Beef Tenderloin for 2. Note that the presentation for the vast variety of steaks is quite impressive. All in all, they surpassed every single one of our expectations on this special night. I highly recommend you get yourself there and let the fine folks at La Madalena treat you right! read more
Amazing! Upon arriving, the mere walk into the front of the restaurant was so surreal. Arriving around the time of sunset in the summer was peak! Kudos to the builder. The restaurant sits directly on water and you're able to go out and enjoy the views before and/or after your meal. The staff was extremely pleasant. Inside the restaurant was very modern and chic, with a cool library theme. The restaurant itself is very upscale with a view of the kitchen as your meals are prepared. The food presentations were excellent and quality was nice but not my cup of tea for the entree (shrimp). I wish I could go back and reorder a steak or something different lol. It was just ok, but presentation made up for it! The bread was excellent and drinks were fun! I'd return but I highly recommend it for those wanting to get a change of pace from resort meals. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. First, the atmosphere is so great with the decor. Secondly, the service is some of the best I've ever seen. They have someone watching at all times to make sure you don't need anything or to take a plate away. The staff also speak good English which made communication easy. Lastly, the food is the best part of the whole restaurant. Although it's a bit pricy it's 100% worth it. Everything we ordered came with a great presentation including drinks, sides, and mains. I would recommend ordering any of the red meats, don't bother with seafood. We ordered beef tenderloin and a rib eye cap, with both being tender, perfectly seasoned, and actually cooked. read more

When you go to this restaurant you don't go for dinner, you go to have an experience. The service staff runs like a well oiled machine. They support each other and if you don't like something, they will fix it! They have a table side cocktail service and final meal prep. read more
A top place to eat while visiting Puerto Vallarta, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere gives day club vibes. Staff is upbeat, and ready to serve you shots at your command. The experience was well worth it, we ordered 2 large steaks, sides, sashimi (tuna,Salmon), drinks. Total came out to $450 dollars. Something like this would cost atleast $1800-2K back in the Los Angeles. Dress to impress, be prepared to have a great night. read more

The service here is 100/10. We were greeted by more people than we had on our party. There was a staff member behind every chair waiting to pull out our chair for each of us. They were constantly attentive to every detail and all of our needs. If we were about to get up, someone was immediately behind us helping us pull out our chair, if we were needing more bread or a utensil, someone would be a step ahead already providing it to us before we wave at someone. Because the service was so great, I think the whole dining process went very quick as well. There wasn't a whole lot of waiting around. Brussel sprouts, fish, octopus and aguachiles were all delish! There were some dishes I was not a fan of-- the different foods didn't really all fit -- like the brussel sprouts and skewers, and fish had Japanese ingredients, but nonetheless the vibes were fantastic! There was loud music, lights, plants, and the bartenders were walking around with a bar cart to make drinks, so you can be an audience to that without leaving your table. I also enjoyed the guava pie! If you're going to PVR, I would HIGHLY recommend this place! read more

Everything about this place was magnificent from the decor to the food to the incredible service. Now, this is not a place you go to if you are looking to be frugal. You WILL spend some coins here! Or pesos! lol But you truly get what you pay for. As soon as we arrived at our table, we were greeted by 4 people! And I promise, besides those 4, there were at least other staff who came by to clear or bring items. There was a tableside bartender who made amazing cocktails from his cart, right in front of you. They brought out examples of their fresh seafood and premium cuts of steak for us to see. I had to try the tuna belly sashimi. It was so delicious and the server even served it to us himself. My stepdad opted for the ribeye cap that was grilled to a perfect medium rare. When they brought it out one of the gentlemen sliced it into perfect portions, then melted butter with a torch, then added a little salt bae sprinkle at the end. Don't ask me why, but I decided to go with the grilled octopus in a steak restaurant! lol But I love grilled octopus and Mexico has the best. It was absolute delicious. My stepdad and I shared the grilled veggies which were fantastic. I was so excited to see beets on the plate! lol I love beets, but the grilled corn was the highlight. So, if you are looking for one fine dining experience while in Puerto Vallarta, I definitely recommend La Madalena. Oh, and I recommend you call for reservations first! read more
This place was phenomenal. The food is incredible and the service was impeccable. I felt so pampered the entire time I was there. Alejandro was our waiter and he was so knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations for us. The ambiance inside was great. They seat you with tostadas and salsa (but fancier) at your table when you sit down and they immediately bring a mixologist to make your drink right in front of you. Afterwards, they bring around meats off the menu for you to look at before you order. Alejandro stayed next to our table all night and was just assigned to us. The service was so fast. The second I finished my water, he was there filling it up. When we finished our first plate of brussels, he was already there serving us another portion. I'd totally come back again. For the drinks, we ordered the Canario and Passion Fruit off the drink menu. They were made with fresh passion fruit juice right in front of us. The best word I can use to describe these is "juicy". They were so delicious. For food, we ordered the brussels and they were tasty. They came with fried prosciutto and almonds on top. I got the flank steak trompos for dinner and my fiancé got the ribeye with truffle mashed potatoes. For my trompos, they were really tasty. My only con is that the flank steak wasn't very bendable compared to the tortilla so it made for some really wide bites, otherwise delicious. My fiancés dinner was delicious. The truffle mash was the best thing I ate all night. After dinner, we were given a dessert menu (but we were sadly stuffed from dinner). We then were given a tequila menu and we got the Don Julio 1942 split between 2 glasses. It was a 3 oz pour in total. It was really tasty and a great way to end dinner. Overall great experience. It was super memorable and I'll treasure the memories from our experience here forever. read more

Food The food was okay. We liked the lobster Mac and cheese the best. A major disclaimer is that I wasn't feeling well earlier in the day so that may be a source of bias. It's also why I (perhaps foolishly) asked for my steak to be cooked 'medium'; I should have said 'medium rare'. At medium the filete don juan was burn on the outer edges and tough on the inside. So I recommend asking what the difference is for medium vs medium rare (or however you like your steak). Ambience The outdoor seating was very loud, mostly due to proximity to the road. I also smelled vehicle exhaust (and I have a very poor sense of smell). This isn't the restaurant's fault since they don't control the roads and there was also construction on the other side of the road at points. The way Mexico does road construction differs from the US (that's not better or worse but know it might affect the ambience). Indoor seating was better though after awhile I found the wall-sized LED screen to strain the eyes a bit. Service There are many servers and they all really want to serve. To the more individualistic American, this might feel "in your face", though it's a cultural difference. Because of this, it is actually better to go when it's busy. Generally I like to go to restaurants off-peak, but in this case, go at dinner not lunch. That way the servers aren't dedicating their focus solely on you. They work hard so I respect that, but keep this in mind. read more

La madalena was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! From the moment you walk in you're treated like gold. There are so many staff working, and they all work hard to make sure you are having a great time and don't have to lift a finger A bartender is waiting for you at the table once you sit down to make whatever you want. Then the server will cut and serve your appetizers for you Followed by ordering steaks they will cut it for you at the table, which I love because I hate cutting my steak lol The steak and sides were soooo good! Everything was exploding with flavor. This was my boyfriend and I's favorite meal while on our trip. Before tip the bill was $159, in the states before tip this dining experience would absolutely be like $300-500. Without a doubt. This place is worth every penny and we can't wait to come back! read more
Overhyped by social media. Service was beyond exceptional but food was just okay. The servers catered to us and made sure we were taken care of. The scallops and salmon were a little too salty for our liking. Lobster Mac and cheese on the other hand was fantastic! Creamy, cheesy and lobster with every bite. read more

CERO estrellas si pudiera. Planeamos un viaje desde el año pasado (2025) y estábamos muy emocionados para venir a cenar aquí, ya que este es nuestro restaurante favorito fuera de nuestra ciudad. Tristemente el servicio hoy estuvo horrible. Las entradas no estuvieron mal. Pero cuando venimos teníamos el costumbre de que las entradas te las sirven sin tocarlas (si, ya sabemos que súper fresón ese problema) pero el problema no fue eso. Pedimos la carne corte Rib Eye y sabía a PURA sal, al punto que nos ardía la garganta, le dijimos a nuestro mesero y se acercó el capitán. Nosotros pensamos que el capitán nos iba ayudar pero no, nomas nos explicó que no podían hacer nada por qué ya habíamos "comido mucho " (eran 10 pedazos y éramos 5 en la mesa, cada quien agarró un pedazo y lo dejó a medias) muy amables si lo quitaron de la cuenta pero lo que más queríamos era una carne y no la quisieron ni remplazar. Lo que más nos decepcionó fue cómo nos echaron la culpa a nosotros. Tristemente nos decepcionó mucho esta noche pero sabemos que no todos pueden ser perfectos. Nos agüita más que venimos de viaje y el poco el tiempo que estamos aquí nos tocó este problema. read more
