He is unafraid to question your intentions and ideas and challenge what you had in mind, which is what I want from an expert - not simply a yes-man. When our ideas were good, he would relent, when they were bad, he'd present better ones. It was more like a collaboration than a mere "service" and we came away with a much better project for having wrestled through the process together. We hired Ron to do the architectural plans for the remodel of a fourplex. He came in with a fancy camera scanner to measure everything, a very efficient process. He was very much on time with the delivery of the initial draft. We discussed minor changes and submitted to the city, and they had just had a few minor corrections before approval, which is better than other architectural teams I have worked with. After we began work on the project, we discovered a beam in the ceiling was not pointing in the right direction, leading to the need for a revision to the plans. The engineer Margarito went on site and approved changes, which allowed us to quickly adapt. Overall this was a very streamlined process, I would be happy to use his services in the future and can very much recommend him.

I decided to go as owner builder for our ADU project to save some money and Zaven has just been always available for any questions even if it may not necessarily relate to the architectural designs. This is already a year after our plans have been submitted and he's still always there to help us out so it really says a lot about him and how he interacts with his clients.
