The food was really good and really nicely priced for the quality! If you go, make sure to try the calamari and stuffed mushrooms! They were delicious and perfect to share between two people! For my meal, I got the gnocchi with a creamy gorgonzola cheese sauce. My boyfriend got the four cheese tortellini. The tortellini was good, however we both agreed that the gnocchi was superior. The only downside was the service. They were very nice, but the placed seemed overwhelmed. We waited a while for someone to take out order and our check. While searching for a dinner groupon deal, we stumbled upon Bistro Albertino. Reviews gave the small BYOB spot a promising rating, however the reviews did not hold up. We had an 8PM reservation for 2 which took about 20 minutes to be seated. The complimentary bread served at the table is nothing special, but I was told the pesto (allergy for me) was actually really good. Our first course of the Caprese was a total flop. When I think of this dish, normally its fresh and bursting with natural flavors. The individual components - mozzarella, basil, tomato, and olive oil - all were bland. Needed a good amount of salt and pepper to bring any life to the dish. The main courses were Linguini alla Pescatore and Bistecca Albertino. For my Bistecca Albertino dish, the pasta was fine, but the steak was on the tougher side - I would've enjoyed a more tender bite. The Linguni all Pescatore was similar to the Caprese, as it lacked overall flavor with no shining ingredients. Oh well. Overall, only worth checking out with a groupon to get a discount. However, not planning on heading back anytime soon. Need to revamp their ingredients. read more

Okay, so this was the first time going to this restaurant and before making a reservation we booked a deal on living social $15 for $30. Off to a good start! Next, went on their site and made a reservation for 7pm via opentable.com. When we arrived there were between 5-7 tables (if that) seated. One guy was working the entire restaurant. After waiting about 7mins we were seated. Then we waited another 10 for him to take our drink order. I asked for ice for our wine and a soda. We waited 15 mins for the ice and then I think about 25 for the soda? Due to one person working the entire place, there were longgg delays between refills, checking in on us and rally minimal interaction with the waiter. He did make it a point to apologize for the long delays we had all night noting they weren't expecting several tables that night and as a result he was only person there. In regard to the food, we started with the baked Brie appetizer. Then order a pasta special of the night which was pasta with shrimp, mushrooms, spinach, sausage in light white wine creamy sauce-- it was delicious. Then we also ordered the chicken picatta and subbed out the pasta for gnocchi (Small upcharge fee). They also served homemade bread which was warm and toasted with a homemade pesto dipping sauce. Overall, the food was good but wasn't the best I have had in the area. The service was delayed and slow but honestly the waiter seemed like he was hustling and it was out of his control that there wasn't enough staff on hand. They also gave us complimentary homemade orangecello. I've been to Italy a few times and spent several months living there and this tasted very Syrupy compared to what I was served over in Italy after meals. We'd all eaten here before and were a bit disappointed this time. We all thought the food was OK. The grilled romaine appetizer was OK. My halibut special was quite good, but the pasta-lobster special lacked taste and the other two dishes (oxtail pasta and the pork chop special) were average. Service was very good and the waitress was delightful, although we had to ask for water & other refills, and were given little bread that was dry and relatively tasteless. We randomly found this place via Yelp. It was a cut little place. The waiters were all very nice and friendly. We started with a charcuterie board and the stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were amazing we were soaking up all the extra sauce with our bread. For my entree I got the cheese tortellini with crab meat. It was okay but the crab meat tasted canned and to fishy for my liking. My boyfriend got the pasta with mushrooms and beef, he loved it. We were to full to try any desserts but they looked good. Came in at 5:00 on a Saturday. Food took a long time to come out but we don't mind. Main course came out at 6:15, at 6:30 the manager told us we needed to leave, someone else had a reservation. We cancelled our plans to get dessert and voiced our concern about the unfair request. The manager BLAMED ME and said she told me they needed the table at 6:30. Maybe she said it and I missed it, but if the food is going to take over an hour to come out you can't expect people to eat and rush out in 15 minutes. Ended up here on Saturday night after reading so many great reviews. I was prepared that it wasn't going to look like much, but was surprised at how nice the inside of the restaurant was. Our server was wonderful, so knowledgeable and friendly, definitely added to a great experience! We started with the grilled calamari appetizer, it was excellent. I had pescatore risotto which was delicious. My husband had chicken parmesan and really enjoyed it. For dessert, we had the BEST (okay to be fair, my first ) limoncello shots from our server, so good! We then split the cannoli and the creme brûlée, both which were delicious also. The servers John & (I'm sorry, I forget the yuh g lady's name) were amazing, as my little cousin would say. Portions were generous and pricing was reasonable with a BYOB format. They have a nice pesto that goes along with the bread, this was a nice touch. Absolutely ADORE this restaurant!! We have been a handful of times alone and with friends and have never had a bad meal. This restaurant is small but mighty!! So much of the food is prepared fresh and on site. Love to stumble upon places like this and stay away from the chain restaurants as much as I can. The coffee at the end of our meal unfortunately was not drinkable and we really should have asked to remove it from the check but our waitress was trying so hard. She even brought it back and tried to heat it but it still came back lukewarm. Yuck. So if you're not a coffee and desert person you will be ok with your meal. This place is a hidden gem! The food is incredible as well as the service. Prices were very fair and portion sizes were great. Cindy our server, was super sweet and gave very good recommendations. Clam appetizer was great and the bread and dip it comes with is fantastic. For entree we had the tortellini and linguine pescatori and both were incredible. Tortellini had a generous amount of crab meat in it and the linguine had a generous amount of seafood, especially mussels. Most desserts are homemade and are also very generous portions. This suburban Italian BYOB was packed this Saturday evening. The small lot was filled so my friends and I parked a block away in the neighborhood behind the restaurant. The hostess told us it could be anywhere from a 20 minutes to an hour wait for a table. A few minutes later, she offered that we sit at the small bar and drink our wine while we wait for a table. We ended up asking to dine at the bar. The restaurant was rather hot/humid. There were a large amount of patrons in the dining room and it was uncharacteristically warm for a January night so these things may have contributed. The servers were all attentive and helpful. There were several appealing specials, but I ultimately chose the four cheese tortellini with crab and roasted red peppers. The dish was savory and creamy and the pasta al dente. My friends were happy with their choices; the special of mahi mahi and risotto and shrimp pesto pasta. They do offer dessert and espresso beverages but we were too full to order any of them. We did notice behind the bar there was a large wine rack mounted on the wall for restaurant patrons to hang their wine for the next time they come to Bistro Albertino! This was a delightful find as there don't appear to be many BYOBs in the Willow Grove/Abington area! Food: I had the veal, which was paper thin and ok, but portion size and taste left a lot to be desired. My co worker had pasta and he said it was excellent. Service: Service is a bit slow, as is the kitchen. Seems they have one person working the tables and one person in the kitchen. Ok, maybe 2 in the kitchen. I love a good BYOB and this did not disappoint! It is very unassuming and super easy to miss but definitely worth it. While all the dishes on the menu were very inexpensive, the specials were a bit pricey, but worth it. We started with a scallop appetizer special that tasted fresh and delicious. For dinner, I got a special which was squid ink pasta with shrimp in a rose sauce. It was delicious and again, all the ingredients were very fresh. My dining companion got a steak which he really liked. For dessert we shared tiramisu. First, this was our 3rd visit. When I called for Mother's Day reservations, at first the said they weren't open Sunday, then I reminded them it was MDAY, that's how early I made reservations. We arrived at 6 and there were 3 parties waiting to be seated, My Mother-in-law 93 was not even offered a seat. What a wonderful neighborhood byob! The lone waiter certainly got his steps in with four tables on a Thursday night, but he gave us good service. He was pleasant and welcoming and he checked on us as needed without being overbearing. The interior is cute and suited the comforting Italian meal we enjoyed. We ordered the special beet and goat cheese salad; house salad; and grilled calamari for appetizers. All were very good. The calamari was tender and full of flavor. The beet salad was excellent. We opted for a pappardelle special with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms and jumbo shrimp in a creamy sauce ( OH MY GAW! soooo good) and the veal piccata for mains. The veal piccata was okay. The pasta was a little clumpy, overcooked and lacked salt, and the veal could have been a bit more tender, but it was seasoned well and the lemon and capers brightened up the dish somewhat. I wouldn't order this dish again. The complimentary post-meal limoncello was delicious. The portions were healthy, so we didn't have room for dessert and the prices were quite reasonable, in addition to this being a BYOB. If you don't have the exact address, you are likely to miss this absolutely fine dining experience. I moved to Dresher in September and have been to a number of restaurants in the area. Bistro Albertino is by far my best meal. When we arrived at 5pm, we were joined by a few other patrons. By the time we left, every table was full. Clearly they are doing everything right.
