Unbelievably garbage service! I actually liked coming here (frequently) but... Today the waitress tried to convince me the order I received was bangus sissig (which is Fish), i didnt feel this was fish, it tasted like chicken. I left not eating it as I was worried if that was really fish, then I'm eating spoiled fish or some alien type fish that doesn't exist on earth. I've eaten at other Filipino restaurants and in Philippines and I know what bangus sissig tastes like. Just common sense, Fish flakes when you fork it! And this dish doesn't flake! It rips apart like white meat! If you think this is how you serve bangus sissig then get a new chef. If you made a mistake, just own it... How could you try to lie about differences in fish and chicken? She still charged me for it... I paid because I just wanted out of a place that I felt had just betrayed my trust. read more

Restaurant is located in a shopping centre. No stairs and lots of parking. Also close to a bus stop. I loved the food. My only real experience with Filipino food was Jollibee and this place blows it out of the water. Some of the food I had was Sisig, garlic rice, fried chicken with cheese, and oysters. Can't remember everything cause I went with a friend who grew up in the Philippines. You don't need such a friend, though, the servers are very helpful and will help you choose the right meal and drink. Price is great and they also have live bands some nights. It's a great place for groups, plenty of room. It's a great locally owned place to support. read more

I ordered garlic fried rice, grilled pork sisig and inihaw na liempo through ubereats. The rice used was toooo sticky for a fried rice - tasted okay. Could use a little more garlic. Grilled pork sisig DOESNT taste like sisig at all, its taste more like tokwa't baboy without the tokwa. Its flooded with soy sauce and too salty for my taste buds. Inihaw na liempo was the only 1 i liked. Although they could tone down the flavours. Also a little salty but tolerable. Its pretty cheap and an OKAY tasting. Probably not gonna order here again. The 6 sticks of beef were so hard and dry my husband my daughter and I couldn't bite into the meat. The side 20$ side order of fried calamari weren't even squid. They were tiny cuttle fish covered in crumbs and grease. There was maybe a table spoon full of threaded vegetables with the 3 plates and an exaggerated amount of rice. Yes there was 3 chicken legs that were tasty and that was it. And by the way the lecho was not crispy and the fat wasn't cooked. Very disappointing. It was staff from St-Mary's who referred you. We came in on a Saturday evening for a night of drinks, snacks, and live music. I've never been here before but from the outside this place looks tiny. Inside is much larger than it leads on, but they aren't really equipped to accommodate groups larger than 8. We ordered some beers, a few cocktails, and some food to share. The blue cocktail I had a sip from tasted like fresca. For food we ordered the lechon kawali (crispy pork belly), sizzling sisig, milk fish sisig, this stuffed squid, and fried calamari. The pork was almost all fat and could have used some salt. I don't know what sauce they put on the side, but it would have tasted better with vinegar or hoisin sauce. The calamari was average, and the stuffed squid was a little bland. Think grilled unseasoned squid with some chopped tomatoes inside. But the sizzling sisig. It was AMAZING! It was so good, it was salty, meaty, crunchy and just delicious. Inside there's an egg to mix in, and some green chile peppers. The flavour was not only spot on, but I'd say a perfect food to pair with beer. The milk fish sisig was also very good, but the sizzling is just too hard to beat. Service is kind of slow, and the waitresses were a bit mindless. But there were only 2 of them working the entire floor, and it was late night so I can't really blame them. Others have already mentioned the $5 band cover, but i should add that they don't charge at the door. They tack it onto your bill at the end. While I thought the live band was a nice touch, it was a bit amateur. It was more like karaoke than a live professional band. They take requests and anyone can go up to sing. Overall this place is average. The atmosphere was kind of a like a place you go to drink when you're sad or heartbroken. They play a lot of old and nostalgic Filipino songs. I don't think I would come back on a Saturday night, but I would come for a few drinks and that sizzling sisig with friends any other day. read more

I've never had Filipino food before so I was very curious to try out some dishes. My boyfriend took me to Bistro Manila and I let him do the ordering. We got pork adobo, bangus sisig and deep fried pork belly. He was worried that I wouldn't like the dishes. However, the flavours of the dishes weren't far from Chinese food. The pork adobo was pork belly cooked in a concoction of soy sauce and vinegar. I really enjoyed this dish. The deep fried pork belly dish was my least favourite dish because I don't really like fried things. However, the sauce that it came with was delicious (tasted like a version of a plum sauce). Lastly, the bangus sisig was something that I've never had before. It's a fish dish but I swear it tasted like pork. I was so convinced that I was eating pork, my boyfriend had to Google image of bangus sisig dishes for me. This was my favourite dish and I would definitely order it again the next time I visit this restaurant. Be careful of the green peppers thought! They're super spicy! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and I can't wait to come back to try their other dishes. read more

The sizzling sisig and bangus (milkfish), pancit canton is one of my favorites! Reaaallly good. However, service sucks. So even if u wanna give them diffrent amount of tip(whether its bad or good) you cant't cuz they add to your bill the service charge and even if there's only two of you. you would also have to wait at least half hour for your food and to catch server's attention is just almost impossible. Need to hire more servers. They also charge $5 each person for the live band. Because of the service, I would go elsewhere. read more

This is the most overpriced, underwhelming restaurant I have ever gotten food at. The food doesn't taste good at all and I've eaten enough filipino food to know. They can't even do garlic rice right. It was soggy, tasteless and costs $6 for a box for take out that they couldn't even fill the rice to the top of the take out box. How much does it costs to make rice and add garlic to it honestly?! Always looking for a place to eat late night, and I usually go elsewhere in Scarborough in my area, but fortunately Bistro Manila was a place open late night. I always mistaken it as just a bar place, but its actually a karaoke filipino cuisine. This place has the bar feel and a small stage for karaoke...On to the food! Ordered the eggplant with soy sauce and scrambled eggs...This is quite nice especially since it has eggplant in it. Not usual to try this, but its tasty in an omelette form. 2nd dish: Grilled chicken which is boneless marinated in in soy sauce and spices...Its quite tender and tasty and the flavour taste well. 3rd dish: Sizzling Sisig which is pork with onion and spices... This dish was the 'HIT' of the night. It comes in a sizzling hot plate with a sunny side egg on it. The pork is actually crispy like pork skin which is a nice bite. This is actually a very enjoyable dish and I would come back just to eat this dish! Fortunately this is close to me, so whenever I wanna have some nice filipino cuisine, I drop by here instead of the usual 'Perfect' or 'Boston Steak House'... read more

I've never had Filipino food before so I came here and decided to try menu items from their specialty section. I also had the Sizzling Sisig and the marinated boneless chicken. I have absolutely no spice tolerance so I had it ordered as non spicy but I'd say the sizzling sisig was definitely a hit! Definitely order up some rice to eat with this. As for the boneless chicken, it wasn't really that great and was a miss. Yes, the chicken was very juicy but it was also very burned at the same time. There would be spots on the chicken was just plain black from being burned. The place can also be very loud, especially if you end up going on a night where there's a live band. I ended up going on one of those nights and had to pay a $5 cover charge. The live music is nice but I do think they could have turned down the music as it was hard to hear any conversation even if you sat beside the person. read more

I'm sorry I have to be honest about this place! Decor is very out dated lightning is horrible ,dark and gloomy having a hard time looking at the menu . Atmosphere is pretty weird given I'm not Filipino and it gets very loud left right and center not from music but from every customers yelling in Filipino languages. Wait staff were so so. Food wise my honest opinion is not the greatest ! Ordered the mussels with cheese with bacon bits, its processed Kraft cheese and bacon bits I don't see any! Taste : 1-10 ( 3 ) a very odd taste to it . $13 not worth it at all. 2. Bistro chicken fried rice. Doesn't look appetising at all , looks like left overs to be honest . Soggy rice and chicken fried rice but its pork belly instead? Looks like cubes and chunks of rice and unsure of the seasoning! Taste: 1-10 ( 3 ) $ 7 not worth the price . 3. Mixed meat seafood platter . Combination of fish, pork belly , squids and shrimps. Because these are grilled some are not too bad. Fish was decent and grilled pork belly was most tasty amongst the rest . Squid was decent . The shelled shrimps were horrible. Before the shrimp reached my plate full shelled, it all fell apart like crumbs . Shrimp tasted bad and mushy . The shrimps we had were all falling apart like as if someone returned it ! I peeped over to other tables with same order and theirs were nicely placed and fat quality shape looks fresh. Not ours ! And sorry I hate to say it but maybe because we ain't Filipinos and get a different treatment?! Taste: 1-10 ( 5 ) there's 4 different items on platter so the half is for the fish and pork belly only. $27 definitely not worth the price at all! 4. Pancit seafood noodles Noodles hard not cooked fully, no taste at all. Very blend, it's not that bad as that's the only food I ate the most otherwise I'll be eating nothing. Taste: 1-10 ( 4 ) $14-17 can't remember. But also not worth the price. Beer : 5 bottles $4.99 ea most worth it over all. I paid total of $99.28 tax incl which included gratitude of 10% . So I paid this amount and ate pretty much nothing cause I didn't even take the food to go and to be honest I really didn't want to ! What was left over were 3 mussels, 2 squid, 2 shrimps, near full plate of their bistro chicken fried rice and half bowl of pancit noodles. Overall they catered mostly to their own culture, their food were better presentation than ours and quality also. Few times we called for the waitress she attended quickly to us but than behind out table were other customers calling her in their language and she told us to wait and attended to them instead and left us hanging ! I'm guessing be sure to bring a Filipino friend in order to get better food . I don't really want to bring to this conclusion but it's just my honest opinion and lying on reviews just gives others false information. My family and I were craving for sisig and halo halo. But we ordered other food as well. Spices on the pork sisig was spot on and was crunchy.however we're very disappointed since it was all just pork fat - it NEEDS meat!!! We didn't pay $15 for a plate of pure fat. Bangus sisig was okay. Pancit miki was good. Halo halo was good. Not enough ingredients though. There was live band on Saturday which we did not know about. Seems fun for a group. I used to like this place, but not anymore for the following reasons: 1. Very slow service, and they forgot to put in one of our orders. We waited an hour for it. 2. The menu is a big fat lie - they never have anything available that's on the menu. If you don't have it then why put it on the menu??? There are probably like 3 things available that's on the menu. 3. It seems that some of the servers can't speak proper english or comprehend. 4. They also lie about their hours of operation. They claimed to be open Sat mornings, but when we went there it was closed. Suggestion: don't put it on your menu if you don't have it I hope the owner reads this, because they've lost not just me as a customer, but also my friends. Our go to filipino restaurant in Toronto especially for pork sisig. I think this is one of the best in town! I tried the pork sinigang which is good and pakbet which is tasty also. I also liked their garlic rice too! The service is a little bit slow 15-20 mins which is ok. I think every Saturday night, there's a band playing and you have to pay $5 for the cover even if you don't wanna listen and you just want to eat lol. The band's performance is good it's just that the sound system is too loud and will really hurt your ears. So I prefer to visit Sunday night, a little bit quieter (except to one time that there's this one guy who sang 5 songs in karaoke) lol.
