We found this cute spot nearby and were able to come in just in time for happy hour! Bistro Taino has a parking lot which is super convenient, since the restaurant is on a busy street. Our bartender was very nice and recommended the Piña colada, hubby loved it. I tried their margaritas: the guava was slightly sweet and refreshing. We shared a variety of tapas including alcapurrias (plantain and root vegetable fritters stuffed with saucy ground beef and sauteed blue crab), sorullitos, which are crispy corn sticks, and of course, chicharron, which is twice-cooked, crispy pork belly. Hubby loved the chicharron so much we ended up getting another order of it! Our server recommended the Tostones Rellenos de Bistec, which are crispy plantain cups filled with petite filet and onions, and it was absolutely delicious and filling. We can't wait to be back to try their entrees and specialty drinks! :) It's a pretty place inside, very clean, and spacious, and they even have seating upstairs as well.

Nice seating areas and very friendly service. The food is outstanding, everything we ate was absolutely delicious. It doesn't surprise me because this place is affiliated with Casual Havana from New Milford which is one of my favorite Cuban spots. The plates were so tastefully served and the drinks are GREAT! I had a drink made with Espolon Tequila that was spicy as heck but really delicious! The alcapurias and the bacalaitos are made thin which makes them more crispy, they were so well made I was so happy to try them. They reminded me of my grandmothers. I had the Mofongo with Chicharron and they were so good. I am so glad to have such a good Puerto Rican restaurant in the area, this place is authentic and good. They have a parking lot in the back of the restaurant too which makes it even more convenient.

I reviewed Bistro Taino the first time because we had the catering done from them for my sisters 70th birthday, the food was amazing everyone food it delicious. So I decided to go for dinner Well- I ordered the whole red snapper fried to perfection with a side salad of avocado fresh lettuce cucumber red onions just delicious. I also had a yummy drink call pero something can't remember the name my apologies. We shared an plater of appetizers fried tostones de plana, Bacalaitos, Alcapurrias. Then we sat by the bar and Jacob made me a amazing drink call. Will be coming back for sure. The music playing that wonderful Latin sound was the icing on cake. The host, waiters very nice too.

Came to Bistro Taino located in Bogota, NJ for the first time last night to celebrate my birthday. I pass it every day on my way to work and as a very proud Puerto Rican (as we all are) I knew I needed to try! Todo fue riquísimo!!!!! The restaurant has parking in the rear and at that entrance is a gorgeous mural of El Morro to welcome you inside. The restaurant was beautiful! There were Puerto Rican flags, quotes on the wall and odes to Puerto Rico like the iconic umbrella decorated ceiling like from El Calle de la Forteleza in Old San Juan. To start, we got several appetizers to share - pasteles, the chicharron and the alcapurria are what we choose to start. All delicious but the alcapurria with the garlic mojo sauce was my absolute favorite thing I had and was a 15/10. The chicharron was crunchy and delicious, served with the pickles onions. The pastel had great flavor to it, but was cold when we hit our table and my mom said: "Si me dan pasteles, dénmelos calientes, Que pasteles fríos empachan la gente." Lol For our entrees, my husband was so excited to try the sancocho. My grandma used to make it but I've never had it out. He got the whole olla & was incredible! I enjoyed the mofongo de camarones which came with this delicious garlic sauce with pieces of sliced garlic. My mofongo was absolutely amazing! Last, my mom tried the Mamposteao Taino which contained arroz mamposteo (describes the style of rice), chicahrrones, pasteles and yuca. To seal the deal, for dessert we enjoyed my birthday flan, tiramisu and cafe con leche. All in all, I had the most incredible experience! The staff was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, the food was spot on and made me think of home. I also forgot to mention the delicious drinks we had, as well! Only downsides were the fact that the pasteles - both times, in our appetizer and in my mom's meal were cold & the light in the restaurant also was flickering throughout the night for some reason. But aside from that, Bistro Taino is an amazing, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in the heart of Bogota, NJ. Thank you Bistro Taino for making my birthday so memorable! I will be back soon!

Came here for my future sister-in-law's birthday celebration. For authentic Puerto Rican dishes. My sister-in-law's hubby recommends this place in NJ For their Mofongo, I couldn't even try it due to the fact I'm allergic to plantains, but my fiancé and his family love it! Here are some of the dishes & drinks we got. -- El Chillo [Meili Volka, Aperol, Strawberry, Passionfruit, Lemon with Chili spices on the lips ] - Virgin Piña colada - White Wine Passionfruit base Sangria -- Bolitas De Queso [Crispy edam cheese balls with guava sauce.] - Sorullitos De Maiz [Crispy corn sticks served with mayo ketchup] -- Chicharrón De Bayamon [Twice cooked crispy pork belly.] - Tostones De Pana [Twice fried breadfruit served with culantro and garlic aioli] - Bifongo [Mashed green and sweet plantain stuffed with crispypork. Served with house salad] - Pernil Asado [Slow roasted pork topped with our house mojito sauce. Served with amarillos & choice of white rice & red beans] Churrasco [Fire grilled skirt steak served with house chimichurri. Served with amarillos, white rice & red beans. Carne Frita [Crispy twice cooked pork chunks. Served with amarillos] -- Pollo Jibaro [Pan-roasted half chicken, deboned and served with sofrito sauce. - Flan De Vainilla - Tres Leches The service was amazing my El Chillo drink was supposed to be pineapple juice in it and when I asked my waiter if I could substitute for something else bc I was allergic to pineapple. He suggested Passionfruit and it taste delicious!!! AMAZING reccomend

Bistro Taino! My only Complaint would be that they took long for the entrees to come out but you could feel the freshness in everything you tasted. Drinks were cute and stylish and had the perfect Blend of alcohol and cocktail mixture. The rice on these plates was cooked to perfection not mushy or burnt. I have had mofongo not as dry but they added a good amount of sauce to loosen it up. Overall I enjoyed the food and would gladly come back to try other options. I did see a whole fish come out that was calling my Name!

2/15/25 It was late and we were looking for somewhere that was still open that was not a diner. Bistro Taino fit the bill. The front parking was full and as we turned around the back we found a parking lot. Phew LOL Love the mural in back. Iconic image of San Juan. Went inside and the tropical vibe continued. It felt like we were in PR. Salsa was playing. Absolutely love the vibe. Buscando Guayaba & Pina Colada definitely gave us the Island vibe. Pasteles and Bacalaito were delicious. Hubby thought the bacalaito were too thin, personally I preferred it. It was like Chinese Scallion pancake thickness which I preferred. When it's thicker it taste drier. Asopao de Camarones so much flavor in each bite loved it. I forgot the name on the specials menu, but it's Rice with Beans and Bacon, Chicharrones, Alcapurria, Fried Yuca and Pasteles all on one plate. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu. Sabrina was attentive and friendly and welcoming.

Visited Bistro Taino for happy hour on a weekday. It's a cool restaurant, with lively and colorful decorations and Spanish music playing in the background. We sat at the bar and were given menus. Since it was happy hour, we ordered a pina colada, strawberry margarita, sorullitos, chicarrone, and the alcapurrias. The alcapurrias came in chicken, beef, and crab. They were all good, but my favorite was the crab. The chicarrone portion was a bit small, but it was seasoned well, crispy, and still juicy. My favorite thing was the sorullitos, which were like chewy corn bread sticks. Drinks were decent and cheap. I would definitely return for happy hour.

The aesthetics gave me a little piece of the island. We were party of 10 and booked a reservation. Salsa was playing and the restaurant was clean with cute little spots to take pictures. The Sangria de parcha (passionfruit) was great and the piña colada was strong but so good too . The lemonades were also fresh and yummy. For the appetizers, I wish they would have a sampler. We asked for multiple appetizers and they created a platter, but unfortunately we were charged per order separately . The sorullos, the crab empanadas, the bacalitos, and the alcapurrias were good. The Masitas were soft and cooked nicely with a crunch on the outside. The Mofongo's were good too. The steaks had great flavor. The Pollo jibaro was top-tier . The crunch outside of the chicken on the dish was amazing. The house dressing on the salads tasted so good. The desserts had very good flavoring and wasn't too loose. It had great coconut flavor. Cons: the fact that they don't have a sampler for appetizers. The mini Pasteles had no flavor with a lot of fatty meat. I'm a big arroz con gandules lover and sadly this one disappointed. The grilled chicken was on drier side. overall, a good experience .

Just a nice flower arrangement of the Puerto Rican flag.

Bistro Taíno I had the pleasure of visiting Bistro Taíno for the first time, and it was a fantastic experience. It was for my Birthday. The food was incredibly flavorful and authentic--truly a taste of Puerto Rico. I also enjoyed a piña colada, which was delicious, though on the smaller side. Our waitress, Christina, was outstanding--attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the meal. I'll definitely be coming back to Bistro Taíno and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great Puerto Rican food!

Why can't I give 100 to this bistro. Latin music playing as soon as you walk in you feel like your visiting a friends home and not a restaurant.....it's very inviting and comfy. The servers are superb, friendly and efficient from beginning to end, service with a smile was in full effect on both of my visits (yes it left such an impression on me I went back 6 days later). Yes, I saved the best for last....THE FOOD is sublime. From the appetizers, entrees and dessert you won't want the meal to end. What makes Latin food so special for me is the harmonious balance of flavors, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and the chefs ability to bring all the ingredients together to create a memorable dish. Taino encompasses all the key factors you want in a great meal and enjoyable dining experience.

Come for the drinks, stay for the vibes (and maybe the salsa dancing)! From the second I walked in, the bar staff made me feel like family. I told them I had friends joining, and they moved me to a better spot so we could all sit together. They recommended drinks and appetizers so well, I felt like I was with my bestie ordering food and yes, I got everything they suggested. Parking: Front AND rear parking, super convenient. Drinks you NEED to try: Acho Mano - perfect spicy kick with full flavor. Piña Colada - dangerously delicious, you won't even notice it's a cocktail. A drink from their specials menu also a win! App Highlights: Bacalaitos - crispy, sauce steals the show (wish they were a bit more seasoned). Alcapurrias - tried both crab and carne molida, both were delicious. Bolitas de queso - could use more cheese, but still tasty (guava sauce lovers, you'll be happy). Sorullitos de maíz - crispy, slightly sweet, and so good my friend ordered more to take home. Empanadas de carne molida - golden, flaky, and seasoned perfectly. Chicharrones - not my favorite (a bit dry), but the rest of the table loved them. Entertainment: A live father-and-son music duo brought the energy even got to dance some salsa and laugh the night away. Overall: Fun vibes, great drinks, tasty apps, and live music make this a spot I'll definitely be coming back to.

Complimentary toasted garlic bread started our meal. The meal was beautifully presented. The flavors were tastefully delicious and pretty consistent, being rich and authentic.
