Food: Flavor of the food was good but the flavor of some of the sides were not what we expected. If you are a fan of Asian, Hispanic fusion food this is the spot for you. Steak was cooked well to the Medium Rare temp that we like and was seasoned well. Calamari and shrimp were hot and crispy. Shishito peppers were spicy with a sweet and savory flavor to which I thought paired well with the steak. Broccolini were seasoned and cooked well with a salty and savory flavor. A5 Wagyu roll was very enjoyable but could have used just a bit more meat for the price. Maduros were way too sweet for our liking as they are already sweet itself, but they get drenched in a honey chili sauce as well. For the food we had received and price paid, we've definitely experienced better for cheaper. Felt as if the cost is also more for the ambiance and experience. The place is very nice and aesthetic with a live DJ on a Friday night, but tables and seating arrangements are very close to each other. Side note: Its common to go to restaurants where a party of 4 or more means auto gratuity added, but to be automatically charged 18% for only a party of 2? Thankfully, our server took care of us through the night. Just a heads up for anyone who prefers to tip based on service rather than a preset percentage on the bill. read more

Celebrated a surprise 60th birthday of a friend on a Saturday morning in April. Claudia Almeida - the event manager went above and beyond in making sure this celebration will be extra special. Claudia made sure she is on top of everything. From menu selection making it "personalized" by printing the celebrant's name on its menu list and making sure our requests were accommodated. She replied to all my e-mails right away. Our server Dejan is also wonderful - making us feel like we are VIPs! The staff are friendly and making sure our needs were all met. The brunch menu we had - presentation is 5 out of 5. The salmon, chicken wings and the empanada trio were a hit. Will rate them 5 out of 5 for the taste. We visited Ventanas for Valentine's Day, and the place is absolutely beautiful. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch and set the tone for the evening. The menu was prix fixe with a three-course structure, so options were limited. I generally prefer a standard menu, but given that it was Valentine's Day, that was expected. Our server, Edgar, was exceptional and went the extra mile to ensure my food was not cross-contaminated with my allergy, which I truly appreciated. We also received a complimentary plate of tuna tartare on crostini, which was delicious. To start, we ordered several items to share, including the pulpo, chorizo, shrimp ravioli, and Caesar salad. All were excellent and well prepared. For entrées, we had the pork shank with moro, which was very flavorful, the salmon over fried rice, which was slightly dry but still enjoyable, and the aged porterhouse steak, which was outstanding. For dessert, there was only one option: a chocolate and rasberry mousse. It was light, refreshing, and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I recommend this place. The atmosphere, service, and food quality make it worth visiting, although some of the signature drinks are a bit overpriced. My wife and I came for drinks after dinner and as soon as we entered we greeted by the team there. They escorted us to the outdoor bar area. We just got drinks and watched the Knicks game but bartenders are great, not crowded at all. Drinks are fairly priced and on point. I visited Ventana's for a birthday celebration. The ambience was definitely 10 out of 10. The host greeted us very well and we were seated immediately. We did have a reservation and I do suggest you make a reservation. It was a Saturday night and after dinner at a certain hour they move the tables and it becomes a dance floor. we definitely were able to hear some really good music after we had dinner. There is a very large dining area as well as an outside patio. on the outside patio were some people, smoking cigars and a really nice area for photos. There is valet parking or you can find a parking lot that is near. Now for the food. I did not have any alcoholic drinks, but the menu of cocktails looked amazing. I had the half roasted chicken meal and it came with vegetables. The vegetables were extremely fresh and well seasoned the roasted chicken wasn't bad. I think it could have cooked for a few seconds longer. It was a little too Soft for my liking however, the taste was very good. I would recommend this restaurant and I'm looking forward to visiting again. read more

Came here 11/19 for my birthday dinner and this place was nothing short of amazing and Jason was simply the best!!! When I came it wasn't busy busy since it was a weeknight but they had the music playing which was good the drinks were also good as well!! The ambiance was just 10/10 from the decor to the setting overall!! The food was sooo good they did not miss those lobster dumpling omgggg I dream about them lol and the bao buns are good as well. For entrees we got the Tokyo lobster which was good just wish they didn't put so much saffron ontop for decor! And the chicarron meal that pork was so crispy and flavorful!! For dessert I got the chocolate balloon and honestly might be one of the best desserts I had at ah restaurant! Definitely will be back again to try more things. read more

Came here for a girls' birthday brunch last weekend and really enjoyed our meal. I had been to an event at the Modern before but never at Ventanas so I was looking forward to checking it out and glad I did! We got there and valet parking was $10 but I think there is a lot that you can park for 3 complimentary hours. Since we were late, we opted for the valet. The decor is very elegant with super high ceilings and a panoramic view of the lake/park. Our server was Dejan and he and his team were awesome! Started with the hanging bacon appetizer, empanadas/churros and tuna seared rice. Everything was great but the bacon stood out to me bc it was so thickly sliced and beautifully presented table side. We also took advantage of the bottomless brunch. I started with the Bloody Mary which comes with a piece of bacon in it! It was really good and perfectly horseradished! I took a sip of the gin drink and it was so good, I ordered that thru the rest of the meal. I got the chilaquiles with short rib and it was delicious! For dessert, we shared the s'mores and the staff was so sweet for putting a candle and singing to our friend. Tip was included for our party of four so just take a peek before signing. We tipped extra bc our service was great. I plan on coming back for happy hours and other meals. If I lived in the Modern, I would be here several times a week. read more

I celebrated my birthday here with family and I had a beautiful experience. The service was satisfactory and the wait staff was very friendly. Everything was prepared to perfection and the portions were decent. The sushi came with eight medium sized rolls and I ordered the scallop and prawn over pasta as my entrée. Everything was delicious. My family was happy and the ambience was fabulous as usual. I went the weekend before Valentine's Day, and they had musicians playing live music, which gave a special touch to the occasion. There was a live performance, his singing was beautiful. Food presentation was amazing and creative, ie the Buffalo wings came with calamari not fries and they were perfect. The Lobster rice was amazing, I'd go just for that alone. Everything was great, the cake pop cotton candy dessert was BOMB!! Loved the vibe. People were dancing, watching the game, singing, just overall having a great time. One thing that irked me and I don't find sanitary is they allowed a dog in the resturant. It sat on the chair and I didn't want to look further to see if it was allowed to eat off the plate or whatnot. This restaurant was so pretty and I didn't expect the ambiance to be as magical as it was. There's a bar located in the middle of the restaurant, above it huge jelly fish lights. We visited for the 2nd time to celebrate another birthday. We had a reservation for a Saturday evening. We were able to make the reservation a few days prior. Upon arrival, we did valet and it was $10. The restaurant has a nice vibe. The DJ was setting up when we arrived. We arrived earlier than our reservation and they offered us the option of waiting by the bar (they have an indoor and outdoor one). The outdoor area is really nice but the tables are so close together. We felt awkward getting through to get to the outdoor bar. We hear most upon arrival being asked if they wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We weren't asked and were initially gonna be sat outside. We requested an indoor table and they were able to accommodate that rather quickly. I was set on ordering the churrasco again but decided to get the Chicharron Pork Shank instead because I remembered how good it was when my fiancé ordered it last time. He ordered the Grilled Chicken Asado and a side of pineapple fried rice. I ordered a margarita but honestly was not a fan of the mix they used so I didn't drink more than 3 sips. The service was great! Jeisson, our waiter, was great. He was friendly and checked in regularly. Our water was constantly being refilled by the staff. Overall it was another great experience. This review is solely on the bar. No food was ordered. This is my second time here and I was severely disappointed. I ordered the Que Fresca cocktail. Which was not what I expected- no where did it mention that it was a spicy cocktail. Because if that was the case, I would have not ordered it. Then, I decided to go with my usual- Skinny Margarita. Well, let me tell that it was absolutely the most disgusting magarita I have ever ordered! My friend took it back to the bar and ordered a regular margarita. When he handed me the drink- I said "what's this?" Because it was not in the right glass, no salt and had a dehydrated orange in it. I tasted it and it was not a margarita. I don't know what that was, but it was absolutely disgusting. So my friend took it back. The bar tender was taken back and then my friend asked him to taste it. That's when he agreed and said "oh yeah it's bad". However, the bartender still stood firm that it was margarita. My friend then asked him, who works as a bar-back, "how do you make your margarita?" When the bartender said "2 oz of lime..." that's when my friend stopped him and said no and told him the correct amount. Then he didn't even use agave or have any clue that he had to use that- that's when my friend told him the quantity use. Three bartenders couldn't get a basic drink until my friend told how to make it. What a shame! Because for an establishment of this nature to not have knowledgeable and skilled bartenders is a real disappointment! read more

This place was a dream. Maybe it was just our waiter that really wrapped in the whole experience for us but this was the first restaurant since I moved to Edgewater that I absolutely loved. They had little breadsticks for you to munch on while you waited for food. Service was incredibly fast. The drinks were unparalleled. So tasty and got us feelin flirty! The sushi was bomb. I wish we had ordered more. The spare ribs were delicious. My boyfriend said it was a big chunk of spare rib on the bone. He thought it was a little too fatty for him. I thought it was great. Overall their vibe was a little confusing. I felt that they needed something different to really tie everything together but it is a lounge so I getttt itttt. Came to Ventanas with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and I included that in the reservation and the staff knew which was nice.  Our waitress Caitlin was absolutely amazing.  She was knowledgable, patient, super attentive and just really such a sweet girl. The entire staff was super helpful and attentive. Dishes were consistently picked up and the table was kept neat -even being wiped down in between courses which was very impressive. To start we had the crispy rice with tuna and ceviche served with plantain chips.  For entree, we shared the scallops, octopus and prawns dish along with maduros and pineapple fried rice for sides. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and flavorful.  I couldn't tell you which was my favorite because everything was so good. For dessert, we had the lollipop cheesecake and the cuatro leches- the sliced almonds paired so nicely with the cuatro leches. The desserts each came with a chocolate plaque that read "Happy Anniversary" and a candle - such a nice touch.  The espresso martinis were also delicious with the perfect amount of froth. After dinner, we walked around and saw the red room where the private events are held.  The restaurant is beautiful.  Overall, we had such an amazing night celebrating our anniversary and Ventanas made it very memorable for us.  We raved about our experience the entire ride back home to long island! I highly recommend visiting Ventanas! 10/10 The only thing I will say that did not sit well was the $10 fee charged by valet. Had we known we would of done street parking. As an upscale restaurant, valet should be a complimentary service. read more

More of a 3.5, but I'll round up to a 4. This place curates an "old school" Hollywood party. Atmosphere is perfect for posting on Instagram - lots of interesting backgrounds and things to look at. Service was very nice and attentive. Food was mostly good, but a bit overpriced and not exactly worth it for the quality of what you get. Husband's steak was very undercooked when he asked for well done - they did take it back and fix it. I really enjoyed the filet maduro roll - lots of flavors and textures. For tonight (NYE) they were doing valet for $10 - not sure if this is always the case. Overall a fun atmosphere and is better to go to with friends instead of on a date. read more

Came to Ventanas for the 2nd time ( it's been a few years) to celebrate a friends birthday. She wanted to try their brunch. Mandatory valet of $10 and you have to pay upfront. There wasn't anyone really there , it was super quiet compared to when I've come for dinner. My friend liked the quiet / intimate vibe. Dejan was our waiter and he was excellent. We opted for the bottomless brunch and the Bellini was my favorite! The presentation was also so pretty as it came in the cart and my friend's drink was made table side. We ate the empanada trio, my friend had the French toast ( Nutella is in the middle) and I had the burger. For dessert, my friend was sung too and her bday dessert came with a candle. This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly welcome. I wish I had taken pictures of all the appetizers and dishes we ordered, but everything looked and smelled so good, we just dove right in. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and flavorful--definitely a standout. The guacamole was perfectly seasoned and super creamy, and the calamari was crispy and not greasy at all. As for the main course, the skirt steak was cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every dish we had was a hit, no complaints whatsoever. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a relaxed yet lively vibe that made the whole night feel special. And one of my favorite touches? There's a little park nearby, which was perfect for taking a walk after dinner. It gave us time to enjoy the evening and walk off some of the amazing food. We came to Ventanas to celebrate a birthday with a group of 9 for dinner. It was a rainy night but we utilized their valet service was worked well to avoid the rain. The restaurant was beautiful. The decor was nice and there were really pretty features like the art painted on the walls and the lighting. They also have outdoor seating. I would love to come back and see how the outdoor are looks in nicer weather. We waited at the bar while we waited for our entire party to arrive. The bartender was Tina and she made really good drinks. To start we had 2 Margaritas, 1 with spicy pineapple and a Mexican Mule. The 3 drinks came up to about $80 because they included the gratuity. I thought the drinks were good but the prices were a bit higher than I'd like. At the table we had another round of drinks and this one included a lemon drop and a pineapple rum mule. Both were a little too sweet for me but tasted good. Food : For the starters, we had the Guacamole, Lobster Dumplings and Chicken Wings and Calamari Rings. All were really good. The guacamole had a nice sweet flavor. The pineapple was a surprisingly nice touch. The lobster dumplings were great. Super flavorful and well cooked. The chicken wings had a great sweet sauce and both the wings and calamari were perfectly crispy. The calamari were excellently seasoned. For the dinner, we had the 8oz filet with a side of chimichurri sauce, shrimp & beef teriyaki udon noodles and a side of the pineapple fried rice (without the peanuts). The filet was really nicely cooked but the plate had a large amount of ketchup on the plate which I didn't enjoy at all. The shrimp & beef teriyaki udon noodles were also really good. Definitely no complaints on this one. I asked for no peanuts in the pineapple fried rice but it was clear they used peanut sauce because the rice had a strong taste of peanut. The rice was really good but portion size was not shareable. That was an issue for me because I specifically asked if it can feed two but it definitely could not. We asked to have some of the steak and rice packed up to go but they packed up the steak only. Perhaps the rice was such a small amount that it was not included even though we specifically asked for it to be packed to go. Overall, we had a good experience and I would return. read more

He was on point and I took his suggestion for the Pork Shank. The pork shank and the crispy skin was EVERYTHING! I had the bacon on the clothes line. WOW! Definitely for those who LOVE BACON. The vibe was festive with the dj booth elevated above the large bar, cranking all the dope party hits. We chose to dine on the patio but it was a hard decision because inside was just as nice and poppin! The food was delicious although my friend didn't enjoy the healthy cucumber sushi offering.. I LOVED IT.. LOL. My seafood grill was incredible especially the octopus.. YUM!! I'm a little confused as to why this restaurant/lounge doesn't have higher reviews on here. It's absolutely stunning both inside and outside. There's literally nothing more you can ask for when you are seated outside on the patio on a perfect summer evening enjoying good company, and great food and drinks. Service - 5 out of 5: our sever was not only friendly, but knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. Food/Drinks - 4 out of 5: for the evening we tried the tuna & salmon tartare (delicious and fresh), scallops, prawns and octopus which I was told was exceptional especially the octopus and sushi rolls don't remember the names I do know I didn't care for the one that was wrapped with cucumber (too healthy lol) but that's a personal preference. Ambiance - 5 out of 5: From the decor to the DJ playing all of the top hits, to the owner (well I think he was the owner) giving us a personal tour of the venue at the end of the evening. Full disclosure, I was visiting from Florida. I visited this spot with some family members and it was a decent spot. This is $$$ spot, but the vibes are there and the drinks were on point if that helps. We came late in the evening and the first thing I noticed, is that the valet parking was VERY backed up. We waited for at least 10 minutes and they only take CASH upon pulling up. They do have an ATM inside. There was just a small wait and we got a table outside to seat 5. There was a picture lady that took really cute pictures of us. I brought two ($50). The outside seating was very cute. Low lighting, but bright enough to see. Not super loud, but noise level you'd expect. There is an outside bar, standing area and a cute grass wall to get in those instagram pictures. My gripe with this place was the food unfortunately. I ordered the Tostones first to get a feel before I ordered anything else and those were lack luster. 3 very small piece with some salsa and SMALL topping. Not worth the $24 paid for it; quite the insult actually lol. Very very small portions, so don't expect to "share" appetizers, just order your own. 4 stars because the spot itself is a vibe. A group of friends and I came here on a wednesday evening for dinner. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The host and waiter were very friendly and attentive and the decor was nice but I had a few qualms about this spot. The staff that were bussing the tables would constantly hover over us as we ate and very rudely interrupt us to refill glasses that weren't even half empty. The other thing was that we picked a wednesday to come as they advertised for a "wine wednesday" with deals for bottles of wine but when we get there we were told that it was not a thing despite it being on the website and even on the door as we entered the restaurant. The food was decent but certainly not worth its price point. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few drinks that were good but I don't really recommend coming here unless you're into those kind instagramable type restaurants. read more

I was excited to try here but it didn't quite meet my expectations. The ambiance here is definitely lovely over the top and beautiful. The service was ok but I do feel like my party was sighted I'm not sure if it was cause we were people of color but I hope not. At first we were seated all the way in a dark corner behind a spiral stair away from the rest of the restaurant we were a party of 10 and celebrating my friends 40th birthday. They didn't have an issue changing our seats which was good but why seat us there to begin with when there was plenty of seats available and we had reservations. They definitely have an extensive menu. The sushi was great and the guacamole was super fresh, the lobster dumplings are also a must. For the entrees I was not impressed.
