This is a beautiful quaint place on a corner that makes you feel like you're in someone's home. The bistec palomilla was amazing and tender and that dirty rice complimented perfectly, then after you take that bite you take a bite of the tostone with garlic mojo and you will sound weird moaning with every bite. I can't wait to go back

I ordered takeout for the first time here and it did not disappoint! The ambience is beautiful and well decorated. I ordered pollo a la plancha, masitas de cerdo, and ham croquetas. Everything was fresh and I well made! I would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

I don't know how this place has a 4.5 star rating, the ratings are definitely not coming from Hispanics or Cubans. I'm Cuban and the food was terrible, my mom and brother ordered the vaca frita and it wasn't seasoned it wasn't crispy and there were no onions. I ordered the Picadillo it wasn't seasoned had no taste and was sitting in oil, the black beans that came with the rice was flavorless and such a small portion that I could count the beans. The tostones looked and tasted like wood chips. The hostess was rude. Our waiter was nice pleasant and very attentive. I would steer clear.

I'm excited to hear about a Cuban restaurant that does not do fusion. Came for late lunch/early dinner. Not many people at the time, yay. We sat down in a beautifully spacious dining room. It felt like we were underdressed in jeans and sneakers lol Sebastian was friendly and helpful. We ordered: Descubrimiento (Tour of Cuba's appetizers): Papa rellena, Tamal, Croquettes, Empanadas, Chicharrones and Plantain chips - Potato Ball was tasty but the middle was luke warm but I'm used to it, as every potato ball we've had lately has a cold center...at least it wasn't ice cold Tamale was ok, hubby liked it more than I did Croquettes were meh neither of us liked it... Empanadas were delicious! I would get this alone next time Chicharrons were good Cuban Sandwich - delicious! Huge sandwich, too. The best part is, no mustard (I hate mustard, lol) the pernil was not dry like other places, yay! Rabo Encendido con Congri - so tender it fell off the bones. Very flavorful. Black bean rice was good. Iron Beer - too sweet, but it's canned soda, so I just have to remember not to order again, lol We also ordered bacalao to go. Had it the next day. Not much bacalao, which wouldn't be an issue if it had been good, but it was super salty. It's gonna be a pass next time... I would definitely go back go try other items.

I been twice to this amazing husband and wife family oriented restaurant, it feels like you are at a close relative's house. It's funny to mention that on both occasions that I been there, there have been a wedding once and a sweet sixteen on the 2nd occasion, and neither event took away from the experience of dining at this place and enjoying a delicious meal, its also BYOB. Until next time for more great food,

I love everything about this place. The food is delicious, the prices are good, the portions are generous, the service is wonderful, and the ambiance is cozy and welcoming. The decor reminded me of Havana! We had the chicken soup (which tasted like my grandmother's; that confirmed to me that they have Cuban cooks in the kitchen); we also had a a steak sandwich, with maduros and tostones. And the fried snapper was, for lack of a better definition, a poem. This restaurant also has a stage, and there's live music. Make sure you go see David Oquendo (on the first Saturday of each month) for a night of boleros and filin'. It will transport you to a Cuba that exists only in the hearts and minds of all Cubans in exile. I'll see you at The Cuban Around the Corner!

food was fantastic. The oxtail was delicious . Meat fell right off the bone. The sauce was amazing. The churros were made to order and we're definitely a must .

Great Cuban food! So happy to have discovered this restaurant. Ordered Lechon asado and Rabo with rice and black beans plus 2 side orders croquetas and maduros. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be back for more to try other items on their menu.

The Cuban Around the Corner just opened in Bergenfield, NJ. I have to say the ambiance and decor is trey nice! Food portions are just the right amount. I tried the tostones rellenos, cuban sandwich and flan. I ordered a side order of Maduros to add to my Cuban sandwich...O.M.Goodness!!! This is love . I give this place two thumbs up and a snap in a circle . Come give this place a try! You won't regret it.

The restaurant is relatively small, couple of tables, lots of boxes around, not really a dine-in spot, mostly good for take outs. It was pretty busy, few customers were in line. Upon my turn, I asked them about my order, and they handed it over to me right away. Was happy to see the order was ready at promised time despite the rush. Among the food, loved the beef empanada, was the best item for me. It had ground beef inside, delicious taste. But I didn't the chicken empanada as much. The chicken was shredded and bland. The grilled basa fish was good, two filet cooked well, that came with some lettuce. The chicken lunch platter was surprisingly a big platter, came with 2 pieces of huge chicken leg and potatoes. This stew chicken was much better, very soft and moist inside. I was relatively happy with the food. I found few items I liked, and looking to try some new ones in future.

The reservation was easily made by Google Assistant for Saturday dinner. Upon arrival at Mis Raices, a bigger location after 3 years for some of us, my partner, our friends, and I got a table by the window immediately inside a cozy island vibe filled with the wonderful smell of the home-style food, the beautiful souvenirs of Puerto Rico and Cuba, and the vibrant salsa music. The menu has been expanded since our last visit, so come hungry! For appetizers, we decided on the Croqueta De Jamón, Croqueta De Pollo, and Guava Empanada. Complimentary toasted garlic bread started our meal. The meal was beautifully presented. The flavors were tastefully delicious and pretty consistent, being rich and authentic. I don't order from the tap often, so I wasn't familiar with the beers. Before making my decision, Server Marcos was kind enough to let me sample it to be sure I I would like it. The IPA was fantastic. It was served chilled with a bit of foam up top. There was a hint of citrus and it had a smooth taste. Unfortunately, free refills are not included with the lunch special. Smash Cheeseburger & Fries: This is a perfect lunch serving portion as it will definitely keep you full until supper time.
