From my visit to Merida this place I recommend. Food had what is pictured the eggs are part of a breakfast that also includes fruit, bread, and juice. I didn't care for the eggs they were okay the tostadas gets soggy which I prefer the crunch. Second time there had the pizza and burger both yummy. The bread similar to when I had breakfast is a bit dry and not spongy. Pizza delicious Fresh aguas very refreshing. Pollo Parmesano third time there wash great and flavorful. Calzones are delicious. Drinks in all occasions where a good balance of flavors and alcohol. On Friday and Saturday they are half which is awesome. Live music Thursday to Saturday. Four stars because food does take a bit. From visiting Merida it's a must. read more

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE - This place, found on the corner of Calle 60 and 57, has a variety of offering spanning italian, american, mexican, yucatan, and debatably some other options. We got a glass of chilean merlot and a glass of argentian malbec, 120 pesos each which isnt bad considering the wines came in prime condition. The menu items seemed a little pricier than other places you might see but it is a bit of a swankier place. We came at lunch and they had a very pleasant blend of tasteful 80's music at a good loudness level. We came past lunch on a hot day so there were more servers here than patrons but thats ok by us. We ordered a soupa de lima and a risotto al vino blanco. We came in hot and the AC was mild so it took a little while for us to cool down. The food was only ok. The salsas fell kind of flat, like they could have added more salt. If you are into thick tortilla chils, their blue corn ones would be a trear, nice and crunchy. I like them more thin and crispy. The sooa de lime, their chicken lime soup, was kind of not that chickeny in the broth, the meat was shredded amd while generous somewhat dry. There was way more red bell pepper than I've seen before i soups like this and they saturated it with tortilla strips, which again could be great if you like those. I prefer them as just a few per bowl. It also was very light in lime, leaving it without the characteristic zing Ive come to love in this soup. Overall I would not recommend this soup. The risotto was basically a mushroom risotto, very appropriate textures though it seemed to have a bit more cheese than I expected. Still it was served at the right texture and thickness, and if you like mushroom risotto this wont blow your mind but its good for what it is. I'm not a risotto guy, my wife ordered that one. She said it wasnt bad but probably would not order it again. Overall this place seems like a great place for drinks, but given the price was high and the food wasnt even average for the area, we probably wont try it again until we've done most of the many other restaurants in the area. We have eaten here twice. The food was dissapointing both times. The service wasn't great, either. We won't give it a third try.

We had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. The place is air conditioned which was nice and had a table overlooking the Sunday bicycle ride. The place was quite crowded when we arrived. We sat down and ordered fairly quickly. My wife and I both got a very tasty fresh squeezed orange juice. Cold and delicious. My wife ordered Huevos Rancheros and I got the chicken and Gouda cheese enchiladas in a black bean sauce. Both entree's were very good. My wife added avocado slices to her breakfast. Our only issue was the wait time for our food. Took about 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We did hear the manager tell someone who came in that there was a mess in the kitchen. Don't know what that meant. Because we enjoyed our food we will give them another try. Hopefully service will be better. read more

My husband went here during a trip to Merida and we really liked it. The food was very good. I got the risotto and my husband ordered the chautenbraud with salsa. I had a sprite and my husband got a beer. We had a dessert and in general had a great time. They also had some entertainment, a young woman sang songs in English and Spanish and a man (or two) who were playing the piano, there may have been another who was playing drums or a bass. I don't remember, but they were good. If in the area again, I'd definately visit. read more

Went out for a walk with no specific destination, only that I was hungry and wanted to eat. I happened to walk by Bistrola and they had a lovely live band playing which drew me in to ask for a seat. Very warm decor as well as exceptional service. My mushroom caps and fettuccini negro shrimp were delicious too. I had no problem with the price as I thought it was very reasonable for what I received. Bistrola 57 will definitely be getting another visit from me! read more

You know it's only for gringos just by looking at how overpriced it is (between 3 and 4 times more expensive that 2 block down the road) but maybe it is good ? NO. It was below average for their best attempt to simply just disgusting. We tried the charcuterie and cheese platter : this was outrageous. Honey ham & marble cheddar on the menu. Delicious thin crust pizza. Came here at 5pm and I was delighted to find out that pizzas are 2-for-1 from 5pm to 9pm. Also, try the aguachile de camarones. It's a shrimp ceviche with avocados and a touch of chile in it. The whole family loved it! read more
