Dr. Bita is a powerhouse. She stays on top of the latest technology and isn't shy about doing everything possible to cure your condition. Not just through medicine and supplements but nutrition. She looks at the whole situation and attacks on multiple fronts. I have to warn you she goes a thousand miles an hour. Be ready for her high energy. I also need to say Dr. Bita listens to you and tests in a way that your treatment is laser focused to you as an individual. She is an expert at customizing highly specific treatments for you. Every patient is unique and she is skilled at finding what will be effective for you. I believe the RGCC test is a valuable tool assisting her in that endeavor. In our experience Dr. Bita picked up on multiple things that our regular doctor never caught. I truly believe if we would have seen her a year earlier things would have been discovered and we could have avoided what might prove to be a long hard road. I wanted to respond to a negative review. The reviewer said they are just pushing products. I will say Sr. Bita has product regiments she suggests and provides in her office. However every time she has suggested a treatment regime product the staff offered to provide it in house but always say we can purchase it somewhere else. I vetted this and found there is no markup in office that I have seen. On a few occasions we elected to order ourselves and paid more. So to claim they are just selling product is unfair judgement. I am sorry that reviewer got off on a bad note with Dr. Bita because I believe she is an oasis in a desert of natural wholistic physicians. Dr. Bita practice has some non-western flavors at times so be prepared for stuff you would never hear from your standard trained doctor. That said when your health is at risk we are opening our ideas of what might work and trying anything that may treat/cure a life threatening condition with methods that are much less toxic than standard of care. Do not waste your time with this rude lady. She made me waste three months and never found anything. I came in because my symptoms have become worse and she was so dismissive. I spent almost 1k on one visit and her frequency scans that are a scam and money grab. She only cares about her eboo patients because of the money involved. She does not care about helping you. On January 29, 2026, I signed up and paid $1245 to Dr. Bita Badakhshan's OC Functional Medical Center for the RGCC test and had my blood drawn that day. The test review scheduled in two months was cancelled by the office on the day of the review since the test results hadn't yet arrived from the RGCC lab. Then, two weeks later--that is, 2 1/2 months from the blood draw--I was notified by the office that my blood sample did not go through (no explanation why) and that my blood needs to be redrawn. No apology for the screw-up, no explanation why it took so long in letting me know about the problem with the blood sample. At this point, I decided to no longer deal with this office and requested a full refund from OC Functional Medical Center for the service promised but not delivered and received a rather shocking response from Dr. Bita. She told me that my blood sample didn't go through because her office didn't draw a sufficient amount of blood! Then she also stated that it is up to RGCC lab (the third party lab which analyses blood samples and produces test results) to reimburse me since the RGCC cancellation policy is one month from the blood draw. What a bogus excuse! Through numerous emails for a week, Dr. Bita had nothing else to say besides pushing the same statement about RGCC's cancellation policy. She even claimed that "The fee you paid at our office went directly to RGCC for the test." Really, the entire amount went to RGCC and her office charged nothing? Did RGCC collect any money for a test they could not perform? Also, "RGCC will ultimately make the final decision." Haha, nice try! No, it does not take a rocket scientist to realize that this case has nothing to do with RGCC but has everything to do with Dr Bita's office's incompetence in drawing an insufficient amount of blood. The RGCC lab's one-month policy is completely irrelevant. It is Dr. Bita and her company who collected the money for this test, and who is responsible for my refund, and not RGCC. Finally, after I let Dr. Bita know that I'm escalating this case, she knew that she would lose in the official dispute, so she promptly issued me a check for $1,245. Instead of apologizing for the embarrassing error and promptly refunding me for the test that was not performed, Dr. Bita engaged in playing games by coming up with a bogus excuse by reiterating that RGCC was responsible for my refund. I found this kind of practice dishonest and dishonorable. Also, I agree with a lot of negative comments on Yelp about Dr. Bita's practice. Yes, greed rules it and common sense does not apply when you're told to pay $150 for an appointment cancellation in less than 48 hours, regardless that nobody is in the office on Sunday for a Tuesday appointment, or when Dr. Bita told me that she expects her patients to support her practice by buying supplements only from her; as though spending thousands of dollars on her treatments was not enough, and on and on... So, naturally, neither I nor my husband will ever again set foot in this place! read more

I've been going to Dr. Bita for about 4 years now and starting my HRT therapy journey when I was 44. Dr. Bita not only was able to get my hypothyroidism under control, but got my hormones leveled so that I could feel as great as possible. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend OC Functional Medicine, run by Dr. Bita Badakhshan. When I first arrived, I was excited to see someone known for a holistic approach to healthcare. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. Dr. Bita, as she prefers to be called, created a stressful atmosphere by rudely interrupting and insisting that the person assisting me stop helping and follow her. It was clear that this abrupt behavior unsettled everyone in the room. Once I was in the patient room, another doctor began questioning me about issues completely unrelated to the reason I was there. She actually never even asked me why I was there like a normal doctor would. Despite my attempts to inform her that I had emailed extensive documentation, she continued down her own path, ignoring my input. Dr. Bita entered next and appeared to disregard most of my medical history, even though I had provided detailed documentation, scans, and lab reports ahead of time. She ordered repetitive lab tests, despite me already having recent results on hand. When I tried to explain that I had already provided all the necessary lab reports, Dr. Bita's response was dismissive. She stated that she has a waiting list and can "pick and choose" her patients, adding that she only works with those who are "compliant." I was left speechless by her attitude. Dr. Bita quickly examined me and immediately pushed a 21-day vegan diet cleanse that she sells. When I asked about the source of protein, the other doctor said "rice." After researching the cleanse on Dr. Bita's website, I discovered that the primary protein source was pea protein--an ingredient I'm allergic to. She also recommended EBO2 therapy, costing $3,200, claiming it would improve my kidney function by 20 points. After researching, I found that this therapy could trigger a major flare-up of my inflammatory disease and is not suitable for my condition. Had Dr. Bita taken the time to truly listen to me, review my medical history, and consider my lab work, she would have realized this. Instead, it felt like she had an agenda to push products and treatments, without fully understanding my individual health needs. Overall, I felt disrespected and unheard by both doctors. I was rushed through the appointment and pushed into treatments that could have major consequences for my health, all while my medical history was heard and I was not even allowed to share my concerns. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Bita Badakhshan or her practice. read more

After a year of seeing Dr. Bita and referring many of my clients to her for functional medicine I am now aware of what a scam is going on here. I was told for an entire year my insurance was accepted and then on my 8th visit half way through the appointment Dr.Bita let me know they did not accept my insurance and apparently never had and that I would need to cover my appointment for that day. To be polite I did even though I was shocked at how unprofessional it was to not notify me prior to the appointment. It gets worse- I then received a super bill for the last year, asking that I pay for each visit.... or my bill would be sent to collections. Complete negligence on the part of the office and I refuse to pay. On another level I have never once received any help for anything other than getting my bloodwork ordered. I returned only to review the bloodwork but then was left to figure out the rest on my own...many of my clients I have sent to her went once and never went back because of the inept office and negative attitude from the Doctor. read more

New patient today. First Dr so behind. Mostly the front ofc girl was arguing about taking my ins . I called my ins and they take it but Dr Bita won't bill it. Then to add fuel to the fire the Dr. Came out yelling yes yelling telling me I was rude to her ofc girl. I had been there maybe 10 min just trying to figure out my ins. Frustrated yes, rude NO. I came in to see Dr. Bita for thyroid issues and bloating issues. I was very upset that their staff told me that I they accepted insurance when they in fact did not on my third visit. Dr. Bita gave me a discount but how can you make that billing mistake! The following visit she had new staff . I think that's unacceptable and un professional. I think I will be finding a new doctor. After visiting many doctors regarding my stomach pain I realized how important it is to find a doctor that actually knows what they are doing. Every doctor I visited rushed me to take some kind of test, before they even listened to my problem. And they came up with ridiculous diagnosis that didn't make any sense to me. One doctor said it could be STD related and another said genetics. But Doctor Bita asked me a series of questions that lead into her diagnosis without any testing. If I could give zero stars I would. I am a healthcare professional (COO of a large medical practice) and Dr. Bita is just another integrative medicine scammer. I had really high hopes for her and upon meeting her, I initially liked her. However, she had her tech do a test on me with no context (I never even filled out medical paperwork or a medical history form or even told her my chief complaint). The test her office did was for parasites using an F Scan machine, then over the phone, diagnosed me with Roundworm in my intestines and had me buy an entire "cleanse" which was NOT cheap. Since I didn't have a real appointment with her for over a month and I did not understand the science behind this "diagnostic" testing, I decided to see if this diagnosis was correct by having bloodwork and other not so fun lab work done and even MRI imaging through my PCP....it was 100% conclusive that I did NOT and do not have Roundworm. Please do your own research on this machine. So, this is a warning to anyone seeing this woman - she saw a patient (me) without obtaining any medical history and misdiagnosed a serious condition and then prescribed an entire treatment with not even a single bit of knowledge of allergies or any other contraindications. Not only is this medical negligence, but she is scamming you. Please understand, as a practice administrator, this is what she is doing to you, your mother, your father or your friend. I wouldn't trust her with my medical care or anyone that I know. In addition to that, her front office staff is an absolute mess - disorganized, unknowledgeable and in two cases on the phone with me, rude. If you've been diagnosed with anything by her, I highly recommend a second opinion and someone who takes your insurance, as I'm guessing in most cases, she doesn't. read more

Was recommended to Dr Bita Badakhshan by a friend. I called and was told she treats my specific medical illness. They took my credit card over the phone along with my insurance information when I scheduled the appointment. That should have been a red flag right there. I went to my scheduled appointment and was first helped by a intern for 15 minutes then Dr. Bita came into the room for about 20 minutes. Started asking questions and when I asked about my illness she immediately said she treats the whole body. I came to her because they told me they treat my illness. Had me spend $200+ on supplements etc. What a waste of time. Then I get a very expensive bill. I have seen many high level skilled physicians(director of hospitals) and what this place charges is ridiculous! Total scam. Saw Dr. Bita and was not impressed. She didn't wear a mask the majority of the appt. She made rude remarks and was assuming. Told me I should do a cleanse and it would help clear up my face (even tho I never mentioned anything about acne being an issue I wanted to be seen for) was brass and I could overhear her talking about other patients in the hallway before coming in the room. Didn't seem to listen or care ... was just another # and was very entitled in her opinions. I never write reviews but I felt this was a waste of my time and money by seeing her. Would not see her again. The other doctors at center of new medicine have been great tho, so don't let that discourage you from them.
