Grab your coffee, this might be long but informative. I have thought about writing this review for a few months. I didn't want to be mean or spiteful but, I also wanted to give a realistic perspective of what it's like to be her patient. First off, everyone that works there is nice but, they do not communicate with you. If you order supplements and want them shipped, and the supplement is on back order, they don't communicate with you and tell you that. They just leave you waiting. If you have an appointment with one person, they will sub in someone else and not tell you. The lack of communication in this office leaves a lot to be desired. Also, if you expect to get results right away, you won't. She is not interested in helping you get better. She doesn't take insurance. She wants you to play the long game and keep paying her. That is the gist of it. Below is a more in depth explanation. I saw Dr. Gersh for a little over a year. Prior to seeing her, I was told that I had to go off HRT due to blood clots and other health problems. I suffered for 5 years with horrible hot flashes. I came in as a hopeful patient and never got results. Not because I didn't do what she told me to do, but because she gives you a little of what you ask for and holds back on the rest. For my first visit I was told I had to wait to see the PA. Then, the day before my visit, they cancelled my appointment because the PA was out. They booked for another week out. When I finally came to my appointment, I was 45 minutes into my appointment before the girl disclosed that she was not the PA but the nurse practitioner. I was sent for a lot of blood work and had to wait for 2 months before my follow-up with Dr. Gersh. When I finally got to see her, I expected to have her explain my results to me. She did not. She was 30 minutes late getting into the room and then was in a hurry to get me out. I'm not even sure she realized that I was a new patient. She just kept looking at the screen and then she prescribed me a low dose of estrogen and then told me to see Bob for a fitness test. I already explained that I worked out, daily. Still, I had to see Bob. She doesn't tell you that Bob is her husband. You have to find out that information by doing your own research. I spent a little over a year trying to get her to put me on progesterone. She wouldn't put me on a full dose. I either had to take a compounded form or insert it vaginally. Nothing worked. I wasn't sleeping, I was having IBS symptoms which just made me feel worse and when I finally got tested for it at another place, I shared my results. Rather than accept that I had had found out what was plaguing me, she told me to see Bob so he could show me how to so some special diet. Being a patient always means, buy one more thing, take one more thing, just one more appointment. She milked me for over a year and I never got better. It was always, see Bob, see my nurse, and she would give you just enough to keep you coming back but not enough to fix the problem. I eventually went to see a natural path who did a very intense 3 day cortisol spit test before putting me back on HRT. I say this because you can't be on any type of hormones or medication if you want to get a true cortisol reading. It turns out that I had cortisol levels off the charts all night long and then they would plummet at 10am and stay low all day. I FINALLY got on the proper dose of HRT and oral progesterone along with a supplement to bring my cortisol levels down. After only 2 months, I had no hot flashes and I was sleeping through the night. It has taken some time to bring my cortisol levels down but I am finally feeling better. If you have a lot money and don't mind being a regular at her office, by all means become a patient. If not, find a natural path and a good GI doctor to help you instead. read more

Dr Gersh is amazing ! I will say though she cannot resolve the issue in 1 appointment it will take several and you doing your own research. It's a team effort. She does a deep dive into your health whole body. My didn't know she had graves and hashi which is very rare and Dr Gersh ran all.the right test to figure it out. Yes she has a very busy practice and it's not cheap but has a ton of FREE information on her YouTube channel and Instagram. You will learn tons before you even meet her. read more

Do not recommend for my pelvic pain conditions (dyspareunia and vestibuldynia) who I saw January - July of 2024. I recommend urologist Dr. Yih at UCI or OBGYN Dr. Davis at Hoag who take insurance and will save you from excessive prices here. Also recommend Sarton PT (you can see my review for them). Meredith Morisoli for acupuncture has been helpful as well. Dr. Gersh's recommendations included: lidocaine cream, low dose naltrexone, excessive supplements, blood work (19 vials with micronutrient panel), menstrual mapping urine test, estrogen patch and progesterone pills, estrogen cream, and their expensive nutritional reset program. Lidocaine irritated tissues (might be helpful for others) and low dose naltrexone made me depressed when I do not experience depression normally (uncommon side effect). Lab work was expensive and not useful. Progesterone made me extremely tearful and emotionally labile and they recommended I discontinue and continue estrogen and then it stopped my period! (I'm in my 30s and menstruate regularly). Period came back when I discontinued HRT and got extra period to make up for time not menstruating. Subsequent doctors don't support why she put me on HRT as a premenopausal woman. Estrogen cream was the only useful thing I'm continuing just to treat the affected area. Got special testosterone free and s3x hormone binding globulin testosterone test from new doctor and starting combo of testosterone and estrogen cream. Part of my problem is likely from birth control pill messing up my hormones in the past. I share these details in hopes to help others suffering. Didn't sign up for expensive health reset program. Although I have pelvic pain, I have never experienced a pelvic exam so rough in my entire adult life of going to OBGYNs and pelvic floor PTs. Although she respected when I spoke up about this, it is bad that I even had to request this. One would think someone would be more delicate when dealing with someone with chronic pain. Perhaps Dr. Gersh is more helpful for other kinds of issues and this is a complex and under researched area, but some elements were not acceptable to me and I do not recommend. read more

I came to Dr. Gersh after years of being ignored with Kaiser insurance. I have PCOS and I suffer from recurring yeast infections every month. At the first visit I felt hopeful that she was going to address my issues since she kept reassuring me that we would get to the bottom of it. I did the initial blood work she recommended at the consult and brought it to her at the follow up and thought she was going to set out a treatment plan. But she wanted me to do even more additional testing for something I felt was not even related to my current issue ( sleep apnea test) that I just could not afford or even get approved with Kaiser insurance. It also took months to even be seen by her since she got booked out so quickly. Unfortunately I did not get the help I needed and spent a lot of money seeing her. Just like another reviewer had posted, the information I presented to her was completely ignored, it felt like the doctor and staff are too busy to really listen to what's going on with me and help. I to also saw random charges on my credit cards. She lacks attentiveness and is not educated to solve specialty issues. She presented me with the wrong information. My specialist gave me the correct information regarding my health Dr. Gersch knew nothing about the problem, nothing! She is a gynecologist so she has no business giving me "professional advice on oncology, hematology, endocrinology etc!!!!" She has no training in these areas! Dr. Gersh is a fantastic MD! She truly takes her time to go through your medical history to try and pinpoint what is going on with your body. For years I've been passed along by MD after MD whereas Dr. Gersh is working to find out the root cause of my hormonal irregularities. Dr. Gersh has been my physician since 1986. She's always been there for me, and for that I am very grateful. She was my OB/GYN for years, and I still see her for my well-woman exams. She has now become incredibly knowledgeable in other fields, incorporating integrative medicine into her practice. I see her for all my health issues. She is very easy to talk to and that's very important to me. She is now also my youngest son's physician. The office staff is always courteous, friendly, and professional. I'm sorry. I must update. I am thankful to the practice for all they have done. But after 35 years, I was basically thrown to the wolves when my Tricare insurance had some sort of problem. I understand that a physician may grow tired of insurance debacles. That, I understand. Thirty-five years. Again, I am thankful for all the years that I was taken care of. I don't need a very young person in the practice to tell me about ethical medical practices. I truly do not. At any rate, on to better things. I went to Dr Gersh for many years. She is a wonderful, caring gynecologist. I stopped going about 3 years ago. The office had gotten too large and the service suffered. The billing was done by an outside group. I had a credit of $200 plus dollars that wasn't automatically refunded. It was difficult for the staff to determine the amount of the credit and using the credit to cover the latest service was harder than it should have been. Also there were more doctors with different specialties joining the practice and the advertising of those services permeated the office. I ultimately switched gynecologists because Dr Gersh stopped accepting any medical insurance. I can't afford to pay out of service rates (typically higher than a person covered by insurance) and not get any reimbursement from my PPO. I miss the old Dr Gersh but now the practice is too large, impersonal and expensive. read more

Dr. Gersh has been a beacon of light in a cave of worry and uncertainty in my life recently. Dr. Gersh is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about helping her patients, especially through natural means. I had a history of migraines and heart palpitations when I sought her advice (diagnosed with PVC's after wearing a 24 hour monitor) and she put me on supplements that resolved these issues. She also started me on probiotics which have made a HUGE impact on the management of my IBS!!! All the research she does, all the teaching and learning are all for the benefit of her patients. I strongly value and deeply appreciate Dr Gersh for many of reasons. She has excellent credentials in both conventional, functional and integrative medicine, and experience to match. Furthermore, she is not condescending (like so many other medical professionals) and she has a genuine interest in understanding what is going on health-wise with her patients and helping them get better. There is a lot of hype in healthcare these days and it is important to look for someone who is not just promoting the latest trend or taking advantage of naive patients. Dr Gersh knows her stuff and her unique background allows her to integrate more conventional medicine with appropriate, well vetted alternative approaches to optimize patient health. I am grateful to have such a well educated, well informed, practical and experienced person as my doctor. At this point, I have known Dr Gersh for several decades and have been a direct beneficiary of her growth from a strictly conventional doctor to one who offers integrated and functional care. In my own case, it was her persistence and insight with regards to my situation that eventually lead to an important diagnosis ( a congenital defect in collagen), along with much better support and management of the condition. Gersh implanted pelvic mesh during a hysterectomy even though I was not incontinent. There were Immediate problems post surgery - basically I could not pee - like having a kinked hose. She "removed it" 8 months later and failed to disclose that she left the mesh arms inside me. She never disclosed that she planned and executed cutting out ONLY the center section of mesh. During all the many visits, both pre and post surgery, the only word used was "remove". 13 years of horrible debilitating illnesses followed. I never suspected the illnesses were due to the mesh because Felice said she removed it. Felice Gersh cannot be trusted. She lies to her patients to protect herself. 13 years later this is what was taken out of me - embedded in muscle, twisted backwards, horribly oxidized degraded plastic adhered to bone, adhered to my bladder wall, adhered to my urethra. You've no idea the pain and suffering this woman caused. She should have her license pulled. I know first hand she lied to me and with that lie took 13 years of my life. read more

I started going here to see Dr Gersh as I had been diagnosed with PCOD and a few other things and needed a doctor to help guide me in the right directions paying out of pocket because insurance doesn't cover was a pain, but then learning that she charges for visit length really upset me. Nothing she recommended worked and whenever if ask a question, she would just go off about God only knows what and didn't answer anything. She is a very sweet woman, or so I thought up until my last visit. She straight up told me I'd never be able to have children because of PCOD. I'm only 19 and that hurt. I am a returning patient to Dr. Felice Gersh's new Integrative Health Center in Irvine. Initially, she seemed friendly and concerned about my health status. On my first office visit, the doctor asked me lots of medical questions. I had to fill out a lengthy medical questionnaire. I made three separate office visits in eight weeks time in order for her to treat my hormonal imbalance. What I didn't realize, this doctor was using a clever strategy by charging for excessive office visit time, overbilling my insurance to increase her revenue. I noticed Dr. Gersh was selling multiple vitamins and supplements to her other patients. However, she never offered any nutritional advice to help me lower my bad cholesterol, triglycerides and a elevated blood sugar level. After I received my Medicare billing statements, I was shocked to see there were more charges added to my super bill for a back pain problem which this gynecologist never even treated me for. Her medical biller is very aggressive and trys to get you to pay up front with a credit card. I would run away, not walk to this doctor's overrated gynecology practice. read more

Dr Gersh sold me a boatload of supplements based o fears she created. I followed her program to the letter. Three months into her program i began losing my hair. As i dug deep to learn about her supplements I found that she had depleted me of biotin which is necessary for hair growth and she had overlooked a Zinc deficiency. She overlooked these known deficiencies that are harmful but sold me hundreds of $$ of herbs etc. that caused me more problems than I had to begin with. I see both dr. Gersh and dr. Kowata at this office and have different reviews for both. I have PCOS (lean and non insulin resistant) which is why i booked my first appt with Dr. Gersh. I have had a terrible time getting help with this syndrome and don't respond to any typical treatments such as low carb diets or insulin-sensitizing medications. I have a very unique case and no one thus far has been able to pinpoint a root cause. I felt that she did a very thorough analysis of my past and ordered lots of blood tests which gave a lot of valuable information. However, I didn't feel like she really addressed what to do about my test results besides commenting that yes, this was off and yes we will fix that, vaguely giving hope without giving concrete directions. I've been left after multiple appts with knowledge that a lot of things are wrong but still with no personalized treatment plan, making it feel like all of those tests were a waste of money. Ultimately, I spent hundreds of dollars on tests just to be told the same thing every pcos patient is told (low carb diet, exercise, spearmint tea, fasting, antioxidants, etc). I have spent months researching pcos and treatments as well as causes for my specific case of pcos, and most of the information she told me I'd already found previously through Google scholar. I will say that if you have just been diagnosed with a typical pcos case, she has a wealth of information to help you get started. She does really try to address the root cause, and I would recommend her highly over any typical MD since she takes a holistic and integrative approach. I do think my case is different than most, as my pcos seems to come from some mysterious origin and I can't blame her for not having a direct answer. But I was hoping for a little more personalized treatment plan, seeing as she's an integrative doctor. I also notice that every appointment she seems to repeat the same things she said last appt for the first 20 or so minutes, which can be aggravating since you're paying by the minute. Overall, she is a very nice lady with her heart in the right place, but I dont feel that she has specifically helped ME yet. I have hope that perhaps with a few more in depth appts she might have some novel recommendations though. I do plan to see her a few more times, so perhaps then I will get better results. I do think she is highly educated and very in depth, which is why I still have faith she may help me in the future. I also see dr. Kowata, and I really can't recommend her enough. She is so attentive and thoughtful and spends all the extra time in the world to really think about your case and talk through treatments. I see her for SIBO and other gi issues I aquired due to taking spironolactone, and her treatment has made an IMMENSE difference in my well being. I feel like I am heard when I talk to her and you can tell she's contemplating what you say and really trying to figure out the root of your issues. I also occasionally take acupuncture from her, and that has helped too. I would say this office definitely has potential to help, just be careful with tests and costs, as they add up quickly and lots of them aren't necessary. read more

Where do I begin? It's painful just writing this review reliving my terrible experience and sharing what happened to me as a result of seeing this woman. I've been putting it off but I feel if my health has been ruined at least others can be warned. Do not fall prey to the sales woman pitch, the smile or charisma unfortunately behind it is empty. I was given a drug that triggered autoimmune disease, it is a side effect but she never shared that that with me and my life will never be the same again as I'm suffering from the horrific symptoms which I never had before I saw her. She advertises holistic medicine just to get on board with the cash business part of it but is actually not certified in any of those fields if you check with the accrediting institutions. All that's there is the verbiage used and as a result asking for cash. Check with the accrediting holistic institutions anti-aging, functional medicine, holistic medicine and she is not accredited last we checked. Just advertises and smiles. After years of frustration with thyroid and hormones and I have finally found a doctor who looks at the whole picture and helped me feel so much better with small tweaks instead of drastic changes and loads of supplements. Dr. Gersh is an amazing medical doctor. I have been to many gynecologists over the years, but she is hands down the most caring one I have found. She exudes warmth, yet she is also very sharp, which makes me rest assuredly in her hands. She's addressing many medical issues that I've taken to other doctors, but none of them had answers like she does. I highly recommend her. Charlotte, her nurse is also one of a kind. She is very friendly and makes you feel at home. She's extremely bright, which unfortunately isn't always the case with nurses. She is also gentle. She drew my blood and did not bruise me. One last note....Karen, the receptionist, is sweet and friendly, too! :) She is also patient with the patients (yes, I know, bad joke.....) While I was there, a rude one kept calling to complain about being on hold, but there was nothing she could do about it. The patient wanted to talk to someone who was on another line. She explained all of this to the patient each time he or she called back. Karen never once seemed frustrated. Good for her! My short fuse would never last with patients like that at Dr. Gersh's office. :) If you make an appt., you won't be sorry! AND, you'll get the answers you are looking for- finally! Excellent attention. I wasn't rushed at all like in other offices. They provided super detailed information about all the different birth control methods that are out there nowadays and they were very clear on their point of view about each one of them. Felice Gersh lies to her patients and the result is 15 years of being kept in the dark, having trusted her, and I lost the best 15 years of my life because I didn't know she lies to my face. Protecting her own butt at the expense of her patient has robbed me of 15 years of my life. 15 YEARS of illness after illness having no idea she lied to me when she said she REMOVED the pelvic mesh, not just a section of it but the mesh in it's entirety. She ruined my life single handed with her lies. You have no idea the suffering for 15 years, only to discover Gersh knowingly left most of the mesh in me. I will not rest until the world knows what a horrible person she is. She lied through her teeth knowing full well she did not have the skills to get it out and making me wait 6 months to attempt to remove it knowing it would only be harder over time to remove. Gersh never once said anything about the mesh attaching and entertaining with my body or that it plastic that oxidizes travels adhering to bone urethra bladder nerves traveling into my leg. I am so completely utterly violated by her unethical treatment of me her patient. Do not go to Felice Gersh. Dr Gersh has been my primary physician for 31 years. I have absolute faith in her interest in my physical, emotional, and mental well being. She is imminently patient with me and shows care, compassion, and insight each time I see her. Vicki is gone and so is Dr. Martin. This practice has gone down hill drastically. Dr. Gersh pushes supplements and unnecessary testing. The practice offers Saturday morning appointments because it is hurting for patients.
