Through the city's initiative to bring food trucks to the downtown area for lunch I've gotten the chance to discover new (to me) trucks. My newest obsession for a quick meal is Bite Street Bistro! Their menu is full of delicious options from burgers and wraps to salads and mac n cheese. So far, I've tried their Shrimp Burger and Jerk Shrimp Salad. First, the burger! OMgood. The patty was all shrimp no filler, it came with the spicy delicious sauce which balanced perfectly on the sweet hawaiian roll it was served on. The salad was excellent which is a big deal for me because salads don't usually count as meals in my world. The roasted corn and tortilla added a great crunch and the jerk seasoning was spot on. As if you need more reasons to check out the awesomeness that is Bite Street Bistro, the guys who run the truck are really friendly, personable and make great suggestions if you need a little direction. read more

So I wasn't terribly hungry when I ordered from here and I wasn't expecting much food anyhow. I ordered the angus burger and the truffle fries. I almost feel as if I cannot accurately write this review because I INHALED all of it. There was burger and fry everywhere. I couldn't even really tell you what all was on the burger...I do remember briefly stopping to pull the pickles off...but goodness I destroyed that burger. It's not fair what I did to that burger. No sauce came on the burger but none was needed. The burger was served in a styrofoam container and it took up a good portion of it. And those truffle fries... I'm going to bed. The Port San Antonio Food Truck Court continues to draw some great vendors, and today offered the most difficult choice yet: The Smoke Shack, Slider Provider and Bite Street Bistro. It was impossible to go wrong! I bit on Bite--not a bad bet. The CBLT (the "C" is a soft-shell crab) is a large sandwich with lots of complex flavor. It comes with your choice of potato chips or French fries. The bun on my sandwich was excellent, and I think it would be very good on a hamburger. Lots of people here seem to like their hamburgers, so I'll have to order one next time. The guys on this truck were very friendly, and the whole experience was very pleasant. Food trucks come to my work every Wednesday & I was happy to see bite finally made it here since I never tried it before! Based off the reviews I had to try the shrimp burger and it was just as good as I imagined. The shrimp party was perfect, toasted delicious bun and yummy creamy slaw on top! I was bummed it didn't come with fries but the owner was friendly enough to throw me some of their parmesan fries for free! What a nice gesture, not to mention they were also to die for! I think this is the first time I try one of their burgers. I ordered the Shrimp Burger for $10 even. The Shrimp Burger was delicious, but there are a few things that they need to work on improving their consistency and quality of service. 1. I initially wanted to try out their Angus Burger, and wanted with cheese but with no bacon. I asked if I can order it just like that, but was said they have to come with the bacon, and that I have to "Take it out." Really??!! So it was either with both or none. They charge $1.50 more for the cheese & bacon. 2. Looking at the Shrimp Burger pics and description, it says it comes with Spicy Slaw. When I got the order, the Shrimp Burger was missing the spicy slaw and looks like they put leaf lettuce instead. I'm not sure if the burger comes with the lettuce or not but it should've come with the slaw. :|. Some of the stars were taken out due to overpricing, inconsistency on the product received, and limited menu options. read more

Sometimes a good truck can be judged by the friendliness of the guy at the window. This was one of those cases. Both guys at the window at Bite and Yao (same company) weren't helpful or friendly. However I made a choice with Bite and went for it. Plus It's been forever since I've actually gotten something from a food truck. Time to treat yo'self. I got the mahi mahi tacos for about 10 bucks, and some change. The mahi resembled a plank of wood, the texture was dry. I think it was left too long to sear, but its not like they were busy. Although the portion was nice, I wasn't tasting a flavorful profile everyone claims for Bite, or the quality. My corn tortilla didn't even make it through the first bite. It was a flimsy corn, there are better quality corn tortillas out there. Especially if you don't get any sides with the tacos. read more

We booked them for our public event recently (San Antonio Drive Electric Day). They are such a pleasure to work with. Booking was smooth and on the day of the event, they showed up on time (actually a bit earlier than schedule) and worked non stop until closing time. They have so many gourmet choices that you can hardly believe it's just a food truck. I personally like soft shell crabs and theirs is the first soft shell crab burger I have had in San Antonio and it was mouth watering delicious. The people who worked at the truck were very polite and friendly. Really nice folks. I was disappointed when I ate here. They were really friendly and nice, and I went on a rainy day at Port San Antonio. I was in the mood for a BLT, so I decided to go ahead and get it. I think the price was $8.75 which I thought was a bit pricy since it comes with no sides or anything, but it's a food truck so I can understand the pricing. When I got it, I ran back into my car to get out of the rain, and ate my BLT. The bacon was to die for, and the greens were good. My biggest problem was the buns - it was incredibly sweet. Each time I had a bite it felt like I was also having a spoonful of sugar. My total price was 11 and change due to a drink (I got Perrier). I took one star off for the price, and the other two due to the sweet bread. I don't think I'd give them another try. read more

Hands down the best good truck I have been to in San Antonio. I came across this good truck at a pool party and they were going out food with the check in to the pool party. I got the shrimp burger( my stomach is growling just thinking about it) and the guy taking the orders gave me se of the Parmesan fries because he wanted me to try them. I had to venture downtown this morning, and after finishing what needed to be done at 10:30, I decided to walk around to get something to eat. When I saw cute Main Plaza, with three food trucks parked in front, I knew I had to stop and take a look. I had heard of Bite St Bistro, but never visited them, and didn't even know what they served. I walked up to the truck at around 10:40, and the really nice guys inside told me the oil was still heating but I could go ahead and order food and it would be ready soon. There are SO many tasty sounding things on the menu, and I was so hungry, it was hard to choose. That's a good thing, though. Choices = happy Ellen. I ended up going with the truffled chicken sandwich with mushrooms and brie. Everything came out piping hot and fresh. The thin, crisp truffle fries have to be my favorite version of truffle fries that I've tried anywhere. They added parmesan (shredded, not grated) and red chili flakes, to give them a little kick. The green chili mac was out of this world good. Creamy, with not too much spice, but you can definitely taste the lingering green chili heat. The only tiny negative I could say about it would be that towards the end, the truffle flavor was a little overwhelming. Maybe dial that down a notch. But it was still super tasty. Eat here. You can't go wrong with Bite Street Bistro if you're hungry! Being fairly new to the SA food truck revolution, I had to see what all the fuss was about. Thus far I've tried six different food trucks and I'd have to say, Bite Street Bistro has got to be my hands down favorite! From the Kiolbassa sausage & brisket sandwich, the chicken lollipops w/ green chile mac, the crunchy shrimp w/ soba noodle salad, to the carved roasted turkey wrap, you can't go wrong. So glad they came all the way out to the Eilan for lunch! I'd been dying to try this place for a while now. After facebook stalking them and realizing they don't come my way that often I was elated to find out they were coming my way today. First off, they were SUPER easy to find. I turned into the Eilan (where I had never been before) and found them in under a minute. Parking at the Eilan was super easy as well! SCORE! I had already previewed the menu on FB but still had no idea what to order. After checking in Dave H. told me to try the Shrimp Burger, since I'm a sucker for recommendations I ordered it up, with fries. After a short wait in the shade on the gorgeous grounds of the Eilan they called my name. My shrimp burger was amazing. The bun was perfectly toasted and the slaw was nice and creamy. The shrimp patty itself was DE-LICIOUS! You could tell it was all shrimp and yumminess. The only thing I could complain about was that the slaw had a lot of cilantro in it. BUT to put it in prospective, I don't like cilantro at all. So take that for what it's worth. Did it stop me from eating? No, but I did try to pick out some of the cilantro. The fries were good too, nothing special to write home about. I can't wait to go back and try more things on their menu. Over 30 minute wait for food. Unacceptable for a food truck. Server was very rude to customers. I understand food is made to order but you have to figure out a way to speed up the service without sacrificing quality. At the end of the day you are still a food truck and the expectation is that you are able to put out orders in a reasonable amount of time. read more

The shrimp burger is quite frankly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The hog wings were very tasty twist to pork dishes. The meat was tender and flavorful seasoned. The tricky name is a cute twist to "wing" dishes. The pork ribs were served over cheesy grits. The "wings" had a well balanced approach to the bbq sauce. It was on the sweeter side i think i could have appreciated a sharper flavor. The portion was very filling. I'm assuming maybe they were rushing because there was quite a large crowd but still, you shouldn't have to work so hard for your food, especially when it's a $10 burger. read more

Holy crap this was the best sandwich I have ever had!!!! GET THE SHRIMP BURGER!!!! Bread was fresh and delicious perfect consistency of soft and sweet while still holding together all the deliciousness within. Spicy slaw with green onions could be put inside an envelope and still taste great. It was fresh and gave the right balance to the rest of the sandwich. The shrimp patty (or should I say shrimp party) itself was out of this world. Big chunks of shrimp that tasted fresh and plump. Cooked perfectly!!! We have been in San Antonio for a few days and this is the best thing I have eaten. I also got the Green Chile Mac and Cheese. It was also amazing. You could taste the freshness of the green chiles and they put bread crumbs on top that round the sidedish into something that could be a meal all by itself. I work in a business park and sometimes I just don't want to drive a few miles to the nearest restaurant but I'm so glad our property manager arranged to have food trucks stop by on Tuesdays. This is when I came across Bite Street Bistro. At first I was skeptical because the closest I've come to a food truck was a taco truck a long long time ago. So, I wanted to start off with something familiar and asked for a BLT but the owner (who is very nice) suggested I try one of their salads. It was the Asian Salad. Still skeptical I took it back to my office unsure whether or not I would like - boy did I like it!! It was made with quality ingredients and and was sooooo tasty. It is on my "I'll have that again" list. Just coming back from vacation where I had a rather disappointing BLT (I was still determined to have one) I decided to order a BLT from Bite Street Bistro. Man was I glad I did. Let's just put it this way...you have not had a BLT until you have eaten one of theirs. It was like awesome...MMMMMM!!! It was so tasty with a little kick to it and they don't use iceberg lettuce they use spring mix lettuce and instead of mayonnaise they use some kind of magic sauce that makes you want more (self control is will come in handy). The man who took my order was rude and snippy. All I ordered was the Pot stickers and he said, " Umm why is that all your getting." Why does this matter?? Then when I went to pay there was an Automatic 15% gratuity on their??? I didnt even realize until after I was done paying. He did not say a word about the gratuity just, "here is your total". I stumbled into this truck while my girlfriend was sick and was admitted downtown Baptist hospital on dallas st. I was on 6th floor Friday morning in her room looked out the window saw these food truck's and doctors took my girlfriend to do some testing so I had time to spare went down the elevator and walked outside saw this red truck before getting their I thought to myself hopefully this food truck is similar to the trucks I seen on the food network the great food truck race with chef tyler florence then I proceeded to head towards the truck looked at their menu at that time I was greeted hello! I said I would like to try the chicken and waffles please there like ok. The view of the truck and people handling the food seemed very professional and awesome personality. First off by far the best food truck in san antonio hands down! A truck I been looking for that does food right- creative, innovative, delicious unlike these others who can't get things right bite street is awesome! Got my chicken and waffles one bite I feel in love! The chicken was flavorful taste of rosemary and seasoning sandwhich with 2 crispy waffles yummy. They do chicken and waffles right by far! I been going to this truck for while now they also have hog wingz with grits was really good most of their menu is freaking good. More trucks should learn from these guys.
