We read all the reviews before coming, and we stuck with pizza, which is what everyone else recommended...so I can't speak about the other food there...but the pizza?! To die for!! We had the stuffed pizza and the think crust meatlovers...plus we had the pretzel bites as an appetizer. The bites were so buttery and garlicky...we annihilated them under 3 minutes! I moved from outside Chicago about 17 years ago and I haven't found a single restaurant in Texas that has good Italian. This place is so close to my house. I'm in trouble because it is fantastic. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan sandwich and it came with hand made fries. Definitely worth try. My husband got the cheese ravioli with meat sauce and it was delicious. Let's talk about really well done Italian food. Worth the drive to Venus, Tx to visit this family owned and operated jewel. The owners are transplants from Chicago and they know what's the what for serving up good Italian deliciousness. The whipped ricotta bruschetta was brought to the table quickly and set a positive tone for the meal. Generous portion for the two of us, and we probably could have stopped there, but we followed with Cesar salad. The salad was swimming in a delightful, heavy on the horseradish, dressing. We thought it was really tasty, with hardy chunks of Parmesan, and we probably could have stopped there, but here came our stuffed crust pizza. We chose pepperoni, Italian sausage and basil. Let me tell you, this pie was perfection! We were told people drive from Abilene to eat this pie. Totally worth a 3 hour drive! One of the owners waited on us, the other baked and served our pizza. We drove to Venus to follow up on some of the foodie posts about Biundo's. We were not disappointed and for a Saturday night we're able to get seated quickly. There is not a lot of seating, quaint small town Italian food. Simple menu and many pizza options. We started with the Bread Bites and marinara sauce. The sauce makes the dish, we prefer more garlic on the bread. We had a Biundo's Special Supreme thin pizza. It was very tasty with plenty of toppings and cheese. We will be back and try some other dishes. Service was great. At one point the music was on too loud and was turned down so we could have a conversation. Wait staff was great. The day I went, they were having problems with their power and the AC was out, and the main dining area was full of flies. No one's fault, but still made the meal less enjoyable. I ordered a glass of tea, and it was bottled, so it tasted old and sour. Tea is too easy to make and maintain, I don't get the bottled thing, it tastes bad. The calamari, tasted fine but was overcooked. And the portion was small. The chicken Parmesan, was super thick, but also very bland and soggy. It tasted like a piece of frozen breaded chicken. I got the stuffed pizza, it was delicious and even better the next day. It did take about an hour to make, but the menu warned me before I ordered. I might give it another try, and will likely only get pizza next time. I ate there earlier this week and the owners of this restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. Being from Chicago they know what a beef sandwich tastes like and they are intentionally selling CRAP. The Beef Sandwhich I received was a few slices of rubbery deli meat in a hot dog bun. There was no sauce, no cheese, no peppers, nothing just moist and gross. It costed $13.25.. My friend and I drove down from Arlington on a Thursday to try their pizza. Our waitress was welcoming and very accommodating, offering to shut the front door if we got too cold. The menu looked very good but we had come for the thin crust pizza. And the special did not disappoint! I had ordered a side of ranch dressing but I barely used it. There was no leftover crust at the edge! The toppings were generous and spread right to the edge. Crust was light and crusty, making a good bite to go along with the chewy toppings. Just look at that cheese. Restaurant was in an old brick building with pictures hanging that was reminiscent of the past, very inviting! We moved to Dallas from Chicago 17 years ago and this is the best pizza we've had since moving here. My wife had the stuffed pizza, my son had thin crust pepperoni, and I had thin crust sausage. We all loved our pizzas. Many have mentioned how friendly everyone is. That's absolutely true. Jennifer sat down with us and it turned out her daughter attended an elementary school is the northern suburbs of Chicago where my wife once taught. She made us feel so comfortable. On a personal note, my wife survived ovarian cancer this year and recently finished chemo. She still gets tired when we go out. We drove almost an hour to get to Biundo's. We plan on bringing a family member who lives near by so I can try something other than the pizza, when we get together with her in the future. For him he loved the crust, could have used slightly more sauce. For me when i went to order I asked for the double crust asking if that was their deep dish pizza based on the pictures I had seen. I was told no their pan is the deep dish. So following their lead we got the pan. While yes the crust is what I would call deep dish crust; it wasn't what I was expecting with being used to sauce on top deep dish that i had gotten at places before. I feel like I've had it like this at Lou's but I usually got the cheese from there that has the sauce on top. My heart went into my stomach, cause my husband could tell that after the effort of scheduling a day to come out and how excited I had been for it to not be what he knew I had pictured in my head that I would be disappointed. Still ate a piece, and thought it was really good, but left disappointed after a long drive to not get what I was expecting/had in my head. My wife and I have been going to this place for over a year for both lunch and dinner. It is a 25 mile drive for us and we have many good places to eat nearer to us. We keep this one on our list for Wednesday date nights because of its consistent, top quality. made the good old fashion way, selection of pizzas. Not long ago they expanded their selection of other Italian dishes. We have tried a few of them and they meet the quality that we have come to expect from eating their pizzas. Everyone we know is talking about this place so of course, we had to try it. Very cool old school traditional downtown Main Street location. Wait staff was super buttoned up. Don't know how long it'll stay BYOB but that's a win for us! Pizza was A-MAZ-ING. Like, holy heck amazing. Bonus was the playlist in the dining area. Awesome assortment of tunes. It did contain a lot of meat, but $14+ for a 6inch sandwich is too much $$$, in my opinion. The onion rings were good. Also be aware that the some items on the menu have increased by $1-2 over the past month. Overall, the pizza is my favorite! They also offer delivery for customers within 10 miles. Went on a Saturday night. About a 20-30 minutes wait. A little busy but pizza was great. We ordered the deep dish with pepperoni. A little too saucey for my taste, thought it over-powered the taste of the pizza entirely. I wasn't tasting the ingredients, cheese or sauce at all. It was just sauce at this point. Nearly half the pizza left. My kids didn't like it either. Not our favorite. Took home leftovers but honestly it just went to waste. We ordered a second pizza. Just a traditional, cheese and pepperoni pizza, not deep dish, it is without all the extra top sauce. It was delicious!!! We went back a second time and ordered just this! Two large pepperoni pizzas. This review is a long time coming. My wife and I have been wanting Chicago style Pizza for a long time! We had tried a few others but they just didn't have the wow factor. We tried Biundos and shamelessly have to admit have tried almost everything on the menu but our favorite has to be what's pictured! I don't even remember what it is actually called but I know that Jen and her family already know what we want before we sit down now. This place has the best pizza in Texas. We had a thin crust Italian sausage pizza, fried ravioli, and bruschetta. The whole family loved it.

I stopped by for a pickup/ takeout order last Tuesday. When I arrived they appeared to be short staffed as there was no one at the front. I noticed the inside was fairly warm, considering the temp outside was near 100°F, I guess that can be expected, but it would have been too warm for me to enjoy a meal inside, I felt. I was provided a menu by a very helpful young lady who came from the back. I sat at one of the empty tables and considered my order. My choices were the bread nuggets, spaghetti with meat sauce and the fettuccine Alfredo over linguine. As I stated, they appeared short staffed, so I waited for someone to come back and take my order. They took my name and my phone number, which seemed odd for a walk-in, to-go order After placing the order and being told it would be 20-25 minutes I walked outside and sat on the bench in front. The southern breeze was not too bad and I found Venus to be a very small cute town. I walked back inside and inquired where the restroom was and used the facilities. When my order was ready, I paid by card and left a nice tip. When I arrived at home, about 25 miles away, I found the bag contained two of my three items. I did a cursory look in the bag before I left and saw three items, the two pasta dishes and a small white bag which contained two foil-wrapped bread pieces. Each piece about 3/4" by 1.5". I wondered to myself if that was their order of bread nuggets and argued with myself there was no way that was worth $8.50. I called back and they acknowledged my bread nuggets were there, on top of the oven. I didn't relish the idea of an hour round trip to go pick them up, so I asked if I could get some fresh ones on my next order, which the young lady agreed to. I am disappointed that when they discovered my missing item they didn't ring my phone so I could return before I got home and had to call them, but the staffing issue I observed probably prevented that action. The food was good, I don't know that it qualified as a top-tier offering and I certainly feel, for the price and presentation, it was overrated. The spaghetti mostly filled the take out container and had a decent serving of meat sauce on top. My wife said it was good and couldn't finish it. I had opted for the Alfredo and found it was a good portion but seemed to lack enough Alfredo sauce to know at a glance to know if it was just linguine alone. Take out at other places I have ordered from usually have a good portion of sauce covering the pasta and there is certainly leftover sauce to clean up with a crunchy piece of bread afterwards. That was not my experience with this order. Overall I found the food good, but lacking that extra touch to make it stand out above the crowd. A sprinkle of chives on the linguine would have been a nice touch to break up the plainness. And, for the price, I found the food was sub-par, in my opinion. Would it have been better dining it? I have no doubt. If I had been dining in and the food arrived as it was when I got home, I would have asked about the lack of Alfredo sauce and I certainly would have gotten my bread nuggets. I rarely do take out for that reason. I find it is always a better experience to dine in and after reading the positive reviews, I really wanted to give them a try. I wish them well and will likely stop by again when it is cooler to give them a try inside. If you will read my other reviews I try to be as honest as possible without destroying a business. My guess is their short staff and influx of customers might have been a bit overwhelming. Hopefully my comments will help them with what I feel are their shortcomings. read more

I have been looking for good Chicago style Italian food for a while and we have found it. Their Chicago style deep dish is amazing and so cheesy! Tastes very similar to the best deep dish places in the Windy City. My daughter had the spaghetti and meatballs and the meatballs were delicious as well. Well worth the drive to Venus! read more
