i went to try it- cute atmosphere and attentive service at a quiet lunch hour but the pizza (tried the cheese pizza as that should be the best way to compare- not based on exotic toppings!) and it was sadly missing much of any flavor. Located in a newly built plaza on the very busy Broad St with an assortment of other chain restaurants nearby. We stopped by on a whim and were impressed with the decor. They were not busy at all. Initial greeting from the hostess was hesitant and I got the impression she was new. We got sat quickly and they brought water right away. Our waitress was friendly but seemed unsure of some of the information or processes. We asked for a happy hour menu and she left to find one. When she came back she directed us to a little card across the room. I said I found it online and she said that was probably a good idea. We ordered two margaritas and the Brussels sprouts. She never confirmed our order and just walked away to the front. After a bit we got the Brussels sprouts but had no silverware. After waiting a few minutes, hubby got up and retrieved some from another table. We had to ask if the drinks were coming and waitress said the bartender was new and slow. After several more minutes I saw the bartender place the drinks at the end of the bar where I watched some guy, who had been behind the bar watching the bartender struggle, place straws in them, then they sat for a few more minutes before the waitress brought them. We also ordered a pizza to go. It was fine. Nothing outstanding about it. The Brussels sprouts were good, the margaritas were good but we were not charged happy hour prices for them. We will likely try Rotolos again in case this was an off day. read more

I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I didn't want to rely on other reviews, so I came in with an open mind and even tried different items from the menu to be fair, but unfortunately, I still wasn't impressed. At this point, either I'm ordering the wrong things, or the rave reviews are a bit hard to believe. It honestly makes me sad to be writing this because I was so excited for this restaurant to open in Mansfield. I'll start with the positives: the vibe and décor are great and very much needed in a growing city. That said, I've now been here twice, and both experiences were disappointing. The service was slow, the food felt overpriced, and the overall taste just didn't match the price point. The first visit, we tried the deep-dish "First Timer" pizza and weren't blown away at all. The pepperoni reminded me of the kind you'd find in a grocery store Lunchable, and it didn't taste like restaurant-quality ingredients. On our second visit with friends, we tried a few more items and drinks to give it a fair shot. The spinach dip was actually very good. However, the margarita was overpriced, not very good, served warm, and wasn't even a full glass, which I mentioned this to the waiter, and it easily could've been fixed with more ice. We also ordered the spicy sausage deep-dish pizza and the jalapeño popper pizza, and once again, neither impressed us. The pizza honestly tasted like Domino's, and the jalapeños clearly weren't fresh, they looked and tasted like the jarred kind. It's a new business and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed when we arrived however they were friendly. I recommend the spicy margarita!! The chicken itself was good but the spaghetti lacked sauce and flavor. I do appreciate the options for cauliflower crust, different pizza styles, and craft beers. First, thank you, Rotolo's, for bringing in some of your complimentary pizzas. We all appreciated that gesture and, of course, the food! A couple of weeks later, we decided to place a pickup order. There were about five of us who ordered. I will say, placing the order was a bit trivial. I would like to think it was only like that, due to them still being new and learning the ropes. The lady who was taking the orders seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu. We kept being placed on hold, and when she came back, she asked what the original question was. She was very sweet and really tried, but at that point, we needed to speak with someone else to place the orders. They do have pizza by the slice, but it's the basic pizza (pepperoni/cheese). They have a third pizza slice, which alternates, per the pizza of the day. Shrimp Scampi Wrap: This was delicious! The shrimp were seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the veggies were fresh. This is something I'll get again, for sure. Side salad: The salad was very plentiful and also, was very fresh. The greens were not wilted or watered down; I enjoyed it. By reading the reviews on Yelp and Google, it appears as if they may have an issue with consistency. Being a new establishment, I know many of the kinks need to be worked out, and I hope they're able to do that. When it comes to pizza/pasta places, I tend to stick to what they're known for. I love pizza more than I love most things, and when visiting family in Mansfield I decided to try this relatively new spot The exterior and interior are trendy, intimately lit, clean, and inviting. There are booths, tables, bar seating (fully stocked bar), as well as patio seating While they specialize in pizza, they have so many other Italian delicacies like pasta, calzones, etc. They also have plenty of appetizers and desserts to choose from. The pizza menu has a couple award winning pizzas you will want to try (they are identified as such). You can also choose regular hand tossed, deep dish, thin crust, or Detroit style pizza (as a style) We visited the second week they were open, and they were still getting in the swing of things, so, I won't hold the wait time(s) and some service issues against them, because I visited a month later and it has very much improved. We did wait a while for our pizza, which was odd when we ordered the cracker thin style, but it was fairly busy Some tips: They have a loyalty program where you can earn rewards points for dining with them. They also offer the occasional deal through their app. We received a free eggnog (seasonal) calzone dessert through the app The Sausage Lovers Chicago Cracker thin pizza was our favorite. I tried calling the store a few times before leaving this review to get the issue resolved, but no one ever picked up. So here we are. I ordered the Beyond Meatball & Spaghetti, and while the pasta itself was okay, the real disappointment was the bread. It came out hard, plain, and completely missing the garlic seasoning that's supposed to bring the whole meal together. That little detail might seem small, but it threw off the entire experience for me. I really wanted to enjoy this dish, but the lack of care on something as simple as the bread made the whole meal fall flat. Loved it! Last night was our second time eating at this Rotolo's location. We just love their Detroit Style pizza. Last night, 4 of us shared a Detroit Sausage and a Thin Crust Sausage. We also tried 3 of their beers on tap. The service was good. Server took out app, drinks and meal order all at once r as we were ready. He brought water right away and our app, Brussels Sprouts came out quickly and was tasty. Beer came out fast as well and was nice and cold. Pizzas came out in a a reasonable time and were both hot. We all thought the Thin Crust was just okay. Not offensive, plenty of toppings, but not amazing. The star for us as always was the Detroit Style pizza. Love their crunchy crust. This pizza, to me is as if Focaccia bread and a regular pizza had a baby. SO good. Our server did a good job of touching base with us through the meal as well. We look forward to our next visit where we'll try their Chicago Deep Dish. read more

The biggest issue I has was that I don't like their sauce. It is overly sweet. I prefer a tangy sauce. I am sure this place is for someone. That someone is just not me. read more

We visited last night with friends before the holidays and decided to give this place a try despite the mixed reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. My wife and I both ordered the Penne Alfredo with sautéed chicken. The portion size was very small for the price, which was frustrating on its own. On top of that, the food temperature was inconsistent--parts of the dish were cold while other areas were warm. The noodles were soggy, and the sauce was not creamy at all. Instead, it was watery, as if the pasta hadn't been properly drained. Normally I would have said something, but since we were dining with new friends, we chose not to make an issue at the table. The service was okay--nothing outstanding, but not terrible either. I may consider coming back to try their pizza, but based on this visit, the pasta was a letdown. If menu descriptions clearly state what a dish includes, customers reasonably expect it to be prepared and served as described--especially at the price point. Brand new restaurant just opened earlier this week in one of the new shopping strips off Broad. The decor is nice, warm & inviting - modern industrial style. I could see this would be cool place to hang for young singles &/or college students. There's a bar area & several TVs around to catch the big game. While the pizza is more expensive than your regular delivery pizza, you'll find unique menu selections here that you won't find elsewhere like schmizza hut or schmominoes LOL For starters, we got the truffle fries & the Parmesan bites. While the fries were good, the whole truffle part left me feeling like there was something missing. I felt like it should have come with a dipping sauce or something. The Parmesan bites surprised me & I actually liked them more than the fries. Fun fact: when you finish the Parmesan Bites, the oil & ingredients make a great dipping sauce for the fries! For our entrees, we got the Meat Fest which I found was a little salty from the meat (sausage, pepperoni, etc) but once I got over that, it was good/okay. My preferred pizza was the Big Apple (apples not included LOL) - I can see why it won them an award before. I would definitely order this one again. Our server was nice, the place was busy, consistently filling & moving tables. It was semi-chaotic but they've just opened so pack your patience. My wife and I have been to Rotolo's at least three times since they have opened. This is a new Italian spot in Mansfield. We've sat down at the tables twice, and at the bar once, and every time we've had great service. The staff is friendly and attentive, and if you need anything, just ask. We've had the wings, fried pickles, Caesar wrap, multiple pizzas, truffle fries, lasagna, and cheese sticks during our visits. The food has always been hot and fresh. The restaurant layout is very nice. There's a huge bar with craft beers, liquor, and anything that your heart desires. The ranch water is a 10/10. There are multiple TVs if you want to watch sports. Overall, we think it's a greatest establishment, and we are happy that it has arrived in Mansfield. When we first heard about it coming, we were excited because Mansfield doesn't have a lot of Italian options. Rotolo's delivers with good food, great service, and we can't wait to visit again soon. read more

I honestly think I've eaten Mr.Jims for too long because my pallet hasn't quite adjusted to completely loving Rotolos just yet. It is pretty decent pizza though & I heard their salads are great & cheap. The only unfortunate thing I really have to mention is that I recently found plastic string in a few slices of my pizza, only 2 pieces which brings me to worry that I might've ingested some that I missed. The only reason I noticed was because I was pulling the slice away after a bite & what I thought was cheese was not breaking off, but no, it was plastic. I'm not sure what ingredients might have plastics that can slip by & make it into the pizza, but just to avoid that overall I don't believe I'll be eating here anymore. read more

Ordered a deep dish pizza and it was pretty sunk is once we got it. The taste was just ok. This is the 4th Rotol's that I've been to. All of the others pizza was really good and the deep dish was actually a deep dish and thick and full of meat! Our server wasn't good! She hardly came around to check on us we had to keep asking other servers for assistance. The manager even assisted us one time by getting us some marinara sauce. Once we paid and it ask for a thumbs up or down before we could give her a thumbs down she snatched the machine a way! I'll probably never visit this location again! This place opened last week and we waited till the crowd died down a bit. We didn't wait terribly long to get seated maybe 30 mins.It was a very lax vibe inside, typical pizza joint. We ordered a the deep dish Big Apple style pizza (pepperoni sausage and ricotta cheese). It was good, but I was expecting a deep dish and we got a regular thin pizza. When I asked the waitress if they is what they call a deep dish, she then told me that the Big Apple comes in different crust styles, which is fine, but I'm pretty sure I said deep dish. Then she said it would t have worked out because they ran out of deep dish. All that is fine and all but I just wish they would have said either, they were out of deep dish or confirmed which crust we wanted. Not going to hold that against them, they did offer to comp the pizza, which we took, cuz my daughter was being super picky about eating whatever ordered. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts which were exceptional, perfect balance of sweetness and salty. We also got cheese fries which were ok, fries seemed a little Over lcooked (some fries were rock hard) or old tasting (not hot or warm). Even though we did experience these, the food was still very good, we would like to go back to try other things, their menu is very diverse, with sandwiches and salads and wings as well. The first time we visited, dining in-person, our Chicago deep-dish "simple man" sausage pizza was great. Super Bowl Sunday carry out order has been a disaster. We ordered the same pizza, Chicago Style Simple man with crumbled sausage. Got it home and discovered it was pepperoni. Called them and they agreed to remake it. Literally no one in the restaurant dining. Husband picks it up and brings it home (didn't check it!) and it was a Detroit pizza with some kind of sliced sausage, not at all what I ordered . Guess we'll go back to ordering from Biundo's when we want take out because to mess up two pizzas back to back for a "simple man" order is ridiculous. read more

I ordered 2 pizzas last night. The edges of the crust were charred, the rest of the crust was soggy. The marinara sauce seemed to have an unusual amount of anise which gave it an unusual flavor. There were an adequate amount of toppings, but they tasted bland. On top of all this, the pizza was expensive. I bought Brussels Sprouts for my friends, but didn't try them myself. My friends said they were really good. So maybe choose something other than thin crust pizza. The service was good and the food came out sooner than expected given how busy they were. read more

It looks nice inside, brand new and smaller than you'd think. We got the boudin fries to start, they were so good and a good portion. We got pasta and it and just okay to me. We got what they called cheese sticks but it's more like loaded bread sticks it was really good and we ate it all. Which took a while to come out and didn't come out the same time as my spouses chicken parmigiana. Both were fresh and tasty. The owner, Matt came to our table and made sure we were taken care of. The service was good & friendly. We liked the decor. We were very hungry so we ordered the garlic parmesan bites as an appetizer. They were quite good. We had the "deep dish" italian pizza for our meal. My husband liked it more than I did although he was disappointed the crust wasnt very thick. Thats why we ordered the deep dish as its hard to get a thick crust in the south. I could see there was cheese underneath all the sauce etc but really couldnt taste much cheese-mostly sauce. This was the most horrible service I have ever received. It was not welcoming at all its like we were a nuisance to them. My wings tasted like they was day old they were not fresh and Darla was very rude . She asked me what type of dipping sauce did I want and I said ranch and she said I should have known ( Why would you say that ) We couldn't even order our food online because the website was down WHAT TYPE OF PLACE IS THIS ! Our party of 10 went to Rotolo's and had a great experience! Every single person at our table liked what they ordered (a miracle!) and our very friendly server, Amelia G, handled our large group like a pro. I had a slice of thin crust cheese pizza- I've never seen crust as thin as this was. When the pizza cooled it cracked like a cracker. The sauce although it had a good taste, was spread so thin you could barely taste it and they forgot to put the cheese on top-my partner on the other hand had a slice of the pepperoni pizza and that had lots of sauce and cheese and tasted very good.
