Walked in on a Sunday morning for a late breakfast to be immediately greeted and the door held open for us to walk in. Seating was immediate too! The server was so sweet and wiped up a tiny spill on the floor before I even saw it, to prevent me from stepping in it. Restaurant is clean and offers a bar as well. Moderately noisy so you can have the kids and be able to chat as much as you want in a casual setting. Ordered an Ale's chicken and the chicken fried chicken breakfast for our party of two. Coffee is delicious and smooth! Food wise, pretty good overall. The gravy wasn't as flavorful as I like but the eggs were cooked perfectly. The chicken was delicious. Getting boxes and a check took a bit longer than it should've. I had my card in my hand to pay and asked for boxes and check. My thing is, I don't like to be held up when I need to leave. I watched the server bring food and drinks to other tables over several minutes when she could've just dropped off the check easily at the same time and saved some steps. Once she did finally come back with it, it was quick to pay and leave. Overall 4 stars. We started out strong but kind of dropped off at the end on the service side.

My gracious they were busy.... But service was still top notch and they had plenty of staff to service and turn tables. My boyfriend had the traditional breakfast. He realllly enjoyed the bacon and the pancake. I have the croissant breakfast sandwich, which I ate for two meals. It was reallllly yummy. I also like their coffee!!!

Midlothian is SO lucky to have this establishment. I remember the restaurant that was here before, and Ale's is such a huge upgrade for this community. I definitely want to thank the owners that have kept the food quality and service and pricing consistent for the several years that they have been open now. They recently added a back patio to their spot, because they fill up! I particularly like breakfast on the weekends, but their chicken fried steak is excellent. Nothing tastes like it came out of a can or the freezer. This is a restaurant we can take visitors and everyone goes home happy. The service is high schoolers as is typical in the area, but they do a great job here.

    Great menu.

Oh yummy, we were meetings friends at Ale's for breakfast on a recent Saturday morning. The place was hopping. Fortunately, our friends arrived first and secured a table. We had to park WAY back behind the restaurant. There's isn't much available parking. We were greeted warmly as we came through the door. Ale's has an extensive menu, everything looked SO good. Our friend's ordered a breakfast burrito and Ale's Pancake Breakfast. my wife ordered a bacon and cheese omelet and I opted for the Florentino Benedict. Of course, we had coffee for all of us. Watching the trays of delectable breakfasts coming out of the kitchen we knew we were in for a treat. Even though the restaurant was almost full to capacity, service wasn't rushed. We had plenty of time to chat and get caught up on what's been going on. Our food was so delicious. That's one huge pancake on the Ale's Pancake Breakfast platter. My Florentino Benedict was very good. It could have used a bit more sauce but overall, it was a good breakfast entree. We had a great time and will return again soon when we're in the area.

The food is delicious cooked fresh and a large size portion. The mimosas are delicious made the way you like them. The service is great! Me and my daughter go here quite a lot! The place is clean and friendly environment. We do recommend this spot.

The place was fully booked, but the hostess saved the day and offered us lounge seating on the sofas. Honestly, it felt a little VIP...like we'd accidentally wandered into the cool kids' corner. I halfway considered putting on my sunglasses indoors just to commit to the moment, maybe even asking if they offered bottle service in the lounge. Within 10 minutes we were settled in and already getting excellent service. And as if the vibe wasn't good enough, there was a one‑man show crooning jazzy tunes in the background. He was smooth, talented, and added just the right soundtrack for an early dinner. Think "speakeasy energy," but suburban‑friendly. Now, the food. My husband ordered the Crunchy Pig sandwich, my sister went for the half rack of ribs, and I claimed the smoked turkey BLT. Everything hit the table about 20 minutes later, hot, fresh, and so lip‑smacking tasty that we inhaled every bite before remembering we meant to take pictures. My apologies to the food‑photo purists; trust me, the plates were camera‑ready before we destroyed them. If you find yourself wandering around The District in Midlothian, do yourself a righteous favor and grab a memorable meal here. Great food, great service, great music, and apparently great sofas.

This place seems more style over substance, for me. It's a beautiful old house, very out of place here in Texas. It reminded me of the houses I grew up in back in New England. It has been wonderfully converted into a restaurant. The server was great, the owner talked to us, checked in. The food, I think, is lacking. Especially for the price. We each had a mixed drink. Mine was, ok. I had the Summer Suitor which is an odd mix of bourbon and sparkling wine. I was a little weird to me - quite sour, not the best mix. For dinner I had their special - a steak frites. Plenty of shoestring fries. But, my steak was raw. I think I asked for it medium or medium rare. This was the first time in my life I had to ask for a steak to be reheated. I think they just left it back under the warming lamps for 5 minutes which helped little. For the prices and the stories we heard about where their meat comes from and the pride they take in their food, I wasn't expecting this. The sides were ok but not great. The truffle mac and cheese - all I can say is what I mainly tasted was the wax-coated paper container those bread crumbs came from. It's so odd. I was excited to truffle mac and cheese but it did not do it for me. Again, for the price, I've had better. The Brussel sprouts were ok but undercooked for my liking. The asian inspired sauce they come in is excellent. My wife had their ahi tuna special and raved about the romesco sauce on top, which we've never seen before on tuna but she liked it a lot. The owner told us about the people that owned the block and moved this building and other houses to this location. All I could think of is that must be why it's so expensive. Rent must be killer! I know this sounds like a negative review. It's just my honest experience. Don't know if we'll go back.

I felt like I was in a school cafeteria because of this. I will say the music was nice and at a suitable volume. It was not played so loud that it interfered with conversation, especially if you wanted to eavesdrop on the table next to you. The menu was very limited. Food service was very slow. When the food finally arrived it was dried out and overcooked. My shrimp looked like it was cooked over a campfire like a marshmallow, complete with a black charred covering. Staff was very nice. Margaritas were pretty good. If you want to drink a lot, you should have plenty of time to drink 2-3 overpriced drinks before your food arrives. Wait staff is good about returning to see if you need another drink. I will certainly not be returning.
