BJCC hosts concerts, Broadway shows, festivals, sporting events, symphony, comedy, supercross and Monster Jam! I visited for the Maxwell/ Jazmine Sullivan concert last year. Tickets were half as much as they were in Atlanta so I drove to Birmingham for a mini-break! Parking can be pre-purchased online starting at $20 but there was a line of cars to enter so arrive early. Even though I had $25 nosebleed seats (shoutout to Live Nation's 1/2 off sale), the screens made it easy to see and the acoustics were great! Both performers were AMAZING! The line moved fairly quickly and I had no issues with security or staff (unlike State Farm). But an end row seat meant I had to frequently stand to to let people in. Patrons were super friendly. We all sang along to Maze's "Before I Let Go" as we exited. Rest in heaven Frankie Beverly.. I didn't order anything or use the restrooms so I can't comment on the amenities or food yet. But it was a pleasant experience. I recommend Legacy Arena BJCC and will return. Pics to come on my next visit! read more

Wow, the BJCC has been around for a minute! It opened in 1976 and can seat up to 16,250 for concerts. The late great John Denver performed the first concert at the BJCC coliseum (known today as the Legacy Arean) on Sept. 28, 1976! Growing up, the BJCC was a big entertainment destination because few and far between were the "great" entertainment acts who visited my hometown of Huntsville, AL. Over the years, I've seen lots of great acts at the BJCC, including Van Halen [pre Van Hagar days] numerous times starting in August 1981, the legendary The Who on November 30, 1982, Kid Rock numerous times, and attended an excellent Alanis Morisette show here! It's nice to have the Uptown Entertainment District nearby and the extensive modernization of the arena in 2020 enhanced the lighting and sound systems, concessions, and amenities for artists. The staff is very friendly. It's very easy to navigate the facility. The facility is clean. The latest renovations made the arena look like a new build. The seats are comfortable. I wouldn't suggest top level seating to anyone with issues related to heights or balance. The mac n cheese offered through the catering service is pretty good. Most of the parking is not covered and there are no covered walkways to the arena. That's very inconvenient on rainy days! read more

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed the BJCC. I've been here multiple times for different events. I've attended a MLK breakfast here. I stopped in for a natural hair event several years ago. Most recently, I enjoyed the traveling dinosaur exhibit, Jurassic Quest. The BJCC is large enough to accommodate big events. It is generally clean and I feel safe. Parking is adequate. I'm sure I'll be back here for something else soon. read more

The BJCC is such a great venue! I've been there numerous times over the years and have visited the arena and the concert hall. I prefer the concert hall because it is smaller and more intimate, but the arena is decent, too. The restrooms are plentiful and fairly clean. Parking isn't bad once you figure it out. I don't care for the cost of drinks and food- prices are astronomical but thats typical for these places. Anytime I've gone, the employees and ushers are super helpful and kind. We will definitely be back (again and again) for more events in the future! read more

There are so many activities for the kids from face painting to bouncy houses (several), riding on dinosaurs (2 different rides), I dinosaur shows, dinosaurs walking around taking pics with the kids...the list just goes on and on. read more

The newly renovated arena looks great - such a modern look and feel compared to what it was before. The new tall glass front facing the interstate with the escalators and steps make a dramatic statement from both inside and out for first and last impression. The concourse is much more open and inviting as well with the arena more open and visible from the concourse area. The food options and presentation at the concession areas have also been upgraded (I had a hamburger that was actually really good - equal quality to what you get at good restaurants outside, which is not common for many "captive" event concessions). All of that being said, this would be a 5-star review if not for the disappointment of the new club seating area. The idea of the club seats is good - open section in the upper deck with high top tables behind the seating area, some facing the arena and others just behind that which are not visible to the agenda but close enough that you can spread out and enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner while still hearing everything that is going on. But there are two MAJOR downsides to this section: (1) the seats in the entire club section are jammed in together with less than 6" between the front of each seat and the back of the seat in front of it - miserably tight and awkward when someone is sitting in front of you (unless you're only 4' tall!!). This is a really bad design for seats that cost more, at least for basketball, than the lower arena seats that are much closer to the action. For this reason alone, I will not consider sitting in the club section again...for any event, for any reason, ever. It was miserably uncomfortable and made getting out across people in adjacent seats tight and a little scary given the high slope of these seats. (2) There is a bar behind this section but no food concessions, so to get food, you have to take the escalator or one of the elevators to the main concourse below and stand in one of the main concession stand lines. Feels like there should be a dedicated concession option for a premium, more expensive section like the club seats. Too many downsides in my opinion for seats that are this far from the arena floor but priced as premium seats. Overall, the BJCC did a good job with the renovations (and the awesome new stadium adjacent to the arena/civic center complex) and have created another attractive venue for our city to be proud of. I can't wait for the next opportunity to host March Madness as a result! read more

I love going to big event here. BUT... they need to fix a few things. I have gone to so many events here, mainly because it's one of the only places big productions can happen in Alabama. Recently, I have gone to a couple concerts, a bridal show and took my BAR exam here. They need to fix their air conditioners because I got nasty water dropped on me while I was taking the exam, which threw me off completely and The bathrooms are not clean and they are not enough of them for the amount of people who go there. There is always a line of 50 people. And I know it's because there are a lot of people but when there is 4 out of 6 stalls that are out of order. With 50 people in line it takes forever. If they fix their air conditioning and their bathrooms, the events would be more enjoyable. read more

Great Concert Venue! Went to 21 Pilots and had upper level seats. Would have preferred to have been closer, but that being said it really seems like all seats are pretty good. Sound is excellent! Staff is very friendly and helpful in locating your seats. They process a large volume of people in a pretty quick time frame. Food and drink options on the inside include typical snack foods. Popcorn, pretzels, nachos, soft drinks, beer and mixed drinks. Just like any venue these items are sold at a premium, but hit the spot if you need a little something until the event is over. Parking is close by and provides many options. Indoor parking garage and outdoor parking lot in addition to close by street parking. Really the parking garage at the facility is very reasonable. $8 for the night. Also, plenty of food options within a two block radius for before or after the event. We had a great time here and I look forward to attending upcoming events. read more

I have been here several times for concerts (sitting in uppers, lowers, and floor) and gymnastics events. I have enjoyed this as a venue every time. It is a standard arena with just two levels. Plenty of concession, seats and sections are well marked, and really easy to get in and out. Plenty of free parking options around but there are some pay lots if you prefer to pay...which it seems like many do. Tonight I got to the event late and parked at the near by Uptown and got my parking validated at one of the restaurants. Easy as that! So far all good experiences at the BJCC Legacy Arena and looking forward to many more! read more

Great time! World of Wheels is an awesome event to attend, hosted by the BJCC every year and I highly recommend everyone purchase a ticket at the least once in their lifetime. Awesome vehicles were displayed but the best part was meeting the gorgeous Dawn Wells (Mary Ann from Gilligans Island)...still hot! I had a blast! Great environment, awesome company with a buddy, saw tricked-out vehicles (including Optimus Prime), and had the pleasure to talk with Dawn Wells. All great stuff. Perfect Sunday. read more

I've been to the BJCC for several events. It's a great location for concerts. My seating preference is to sit on the side arm of the balcony. It brings you close to the stage without any visual distractions (plus the tickets are usually a little less expensive). It's located in walking distance to a handful of good restaurants, entering and exiting the building is easy and parking is plentiful. read more

I would give a negative rating for this if I could. I have been attempting to confirm that i have tickets waiting for me at will call for two days and have been told that, the ticketing office is "too busy to confirm that the tickets are there" I live two and a half hours from Birmingham (on a good day with no traffic) and would prefer not to arrive there to have no tickets waiting. This is ridiculous and frustrating, being told I have to drive up there to verify if I have tickets or not. read more

We attended The Eagles concert April 19th. While the show was good, my entire group of five, were verbally abused by the people behind us for standing during the first song and I was actually assaulted by one of them during this time. The supposed head of security was too busy due to Nick Saban being there, and the Bham PD officer basically talked to the guy, scolded him and told him don't do that and then told me to keep my mouth shut and go sit down. Poor response all around. I bet if I were a girl, somebody leaves in handcuffs. Just be aware that you cannot depend on Bham PD or BJCC to do anything to help you if you are abused in anyway while attending an event you are on your own. Thanks BJCC. read more
