Time to update this review. After my continued frustration with the curbside pickup four years ago, I only came here to get fuel. Almost two years ago, I noticed they designed dedicated parking spaces for curbside pickup. No more guessing where to park. I took a chance and ordered online. I am happy I did! Since then, there have been no issues with the curbside service. The App is fully functional and checking in has been a breeze. I now have returned to this location for shopping and fuel. On August 6th 2026 at 6:09 PM ET my EBT account was charged by BJ's Wholesale for $1368.76 This amount was rejected because I only received $298.00 monthly for my Food Stamps. Less than a minute later on August 6th 2026 at 6:09 PM ET the full amount of $298.00 was paid to Bj's Wholesale Club, the same amount I'm supposed to receive monthly for my food stamps paid by NY State, but instead my payment was electronically diverted to Bjs Wholesale. I'm disabled and this is the second time my FoodStamp payment has been hacked. This is a continuation of the Food Stamp hack perpetrated last month that was actually split into 5 different payments to 5 different LLC's I want my Food Stamp money paid back, but seeing thats unlikely, who knows what I've got planned? read more

So lately this BJ's has become part of my biweekly grocery shopping routine. I really like coming for their kombucha deals, grass-fed steaks, and acai bowls. Sure the line someones can get long but it moves rather fast. The staff are always quick to help you at check-out with any coupon or item issues too. One thing I'm not the biggest fan of is how hectic the parking lot can get. But that's more of a customer thing than it is theirs. Just be mindful of all the bad driver's out there and give yourself plenty of room next to those who might swing their doors open. read more

5/27/2026 I was shopping at BJs in Freeport Long Island and I had a coupon that I wasn't able to clip. I went to customer service and explained the situation and asked for a discount on the item. I was told by customer service to seek help from other member on the floor but the person told me that he was not allowed to grant me the discount and that ALL the managers were in a meeting. I find that to be very concerning: I work in retail and there's always a manager available on the floor. Anything could have happened to your loyal staffs and customers. I was very disappointed with the fact that all managers were in a meeting and none of the associates were not able to assist. read more

We've visited a few BJ's Gas stations and they don't vary much from location to location. Some are easier than others. This one requires a bit more maneuvering. Perhaps an attendant to help with the flow control would help. Not too much to say about a gas station but... easy in, easy out of the main road. Great prices on gas and if you have the BJ's credit card you will save up to an additional 15 cents a gallon... You can't go wrong. The station is spacious with extra long hoses so you can park on either side off the pump for a fill-up. There is always help close by should you need some assistance. It's well lit in the evening and the traffic flow out of the station works better than the flow in. Still, this place is just a win-win! read more

I have been a good customer and club member for close to 10 years. Once in a while you will get that nice person that wants to help you but most of the time the workers here are rude and not helpful. I just called the store about a online order that I placed. I was having trouble figuring something out I spoke to John from BJS and he basically told me he is unable to help me thats its up to me the "customer" to figure it out. As the website is messed up and giving me the wrong delivery date and time. He said I would have to reach out to another customer service place or figure it out myself on the app. I asked for the number and he said he doesn't have it. To be fair this is a BJs and they will never make everyone happy. So let's deep dive on this location. Positives: 1) It's close to the highway. 2) It has a gas station 3) It has nice staff members Negatives: 1) Entrance is very hard to enter if you're trying to get gas. 2) Gas line is hard to enter if you enter on the main entrance. You pretty much have to cut people or have a nice person let you in. Gas lines need to be managed better. Some gas pumps are always messed up. And lastly, my receipt! why can't your pumps print them? Sad news bears. 3) Some items are always out of stock. 4) Parking is not that big - it get's crowded during weekend. Overall, this Freeport location is nice compared to Garden City. But they can do better. The place seems smaller but it's easy to get to. Just wished the entrance to the parking and gas was not in the same area. read more

Came here today to stock up on essentials. Had something in my cart and left it outside the restroom for a few minutes. Came back and it was gone. Went to customer service, along with another customer, to remove some items from one of their carts so I wouldn't have to go back outside for another cart. The other customer removed some items from a cart, took the cart and left. While I was emptying another cart a very unfriendly employee yelled at me that I couldn't take a cart because it was 'theirs.' Huh? I told her someone had taken my cart from outside the restroom. Nope. She wouldn't allow me to take a cart. Wouldn't you want a customer to have a cart that you could replace instead of being nasty and unaccommodating? I ordered a Gazebo from BJS.com for delivery. The Metropolitain Warehouse were it was coming from told me the hard Top Gazebo had to be delivered into my house or my garage. I spent my whole weekend clearing out my garage to make space for the gazebo. The delivery guys came today to delivery my Gazebo and wanted to leave it in front of my house in the walkway. They complained about how heavy the Gazebo was and then started yelling at me that they could not bring it down my driveway. I told them to take it back I do not want it. Then the two boys(not men) found they strength and did they job. But the left it outside of the garage. Bjs get better delivery service this one is BAD!! read more

This is one of my favorite locations. Competent and friendly staff, large parking lot, plentiful stock. A dream come true. Unlike Costco this store has labeled aisles and the staff is very helpful and available on the sales floor. The lines are short and the stock is always replenished. I love coming here. I'm a regular at this BJ's because it's the closest. Usually, I don't have many issues as all store have some good and some bad. All the comments shown here are very true about the insane gas line setup and the ridiculous long wait to speak to customer service. However, I just had an experience that compels me to write in. To begin, I foolishly rushed to get home as I had a 29 yr old autistic son in the car, by himself. In rushing, I left an expensive box of Starbucks coffee pods, on the seat of the cart. Not realizing what I did until 30 minutes after getting home, I quickly looked up the phone number and started my adventure by calling in. Getting a person on the line took easily 25 minutes. I proceeded to explain my situation, to which the young lady asked questions that made absolutely no sense. She also put me on hold 3 times supposedly to ask someone what to do. Then she said, "you'll have to come in and maybe it's still here." I was dumbfounded. Of course finally, I lost it just a little. I quickly started to apologize, as I was in the wrong, but before finishing my sincere apology, she slammed the phone down! Terrific customer service. Let me say I truly didn't expect someone to bring the box of coffee pods back into the store, nor the store to replenish the lost goods for me. Here is the good part of my story. I was fuming! Being in business over 40 years, I know how important customer service is for your business. There is no way to measure it. So I corral my autistic son, which is an adventure in itself, and hurry back to the store. Originally, I had no thinking that I would do this. I figured I was out the $41 for sure. But this girl had really gotten under my skin. I found my way to the store manager, who had just been put in charge of this store. His name is Allison, but I did not get his last name. This is the good part......he could not have been nicer nor handled the situation better. He very nicely listened to my story and simply said to go and get a replacement box and come back to him to initial the ok. So my story has a happy ending and I cannot believe how long I've spent writing this. But I wanted to make sure Allison gets credit for his adept handling of my infuriating experience. Visit Date: October 16, 2017 I've visited this BJs on and off since 2004ish. Hubby and I recently got membership through a living social deal. Last night I stopped in for some protein shakes. As usual after I found what I wanted I grabbed something else. I found a portable desk heater for $20. I've been yearning for a heater for my office at work because on occasion it's freezing! I was so happy to find this small heater at the right price. Most of the time this store is pretty clean, things seem fairly easy to find but maybe that's because I'm used to stopping in at this one. Any interactions I've had with staff have been friendly (except for my ex-boyfriend who had gotten a job here when we were together but that's personal lol). I like that they have a dunkin here for coffee, I've been against dunkin but recently I have found I like their cappuccinos with almond milk so it's good to have a dunkin option and to have one in here is convenient. I contacted Bjs.com and customer service asked me to send a screenshot which I did. A few days passed and I did not hear back so I had to call them and was informed that it was a pricing error and they could not honor the price. I told them they had honor the advertised price but they refused. Frankly the fact that such a huge company can get away with not maintaining good customer service is beyond me. The Freeport location is convenient yet not properly managed. The store is not fully stocked all the time, and they have a worker shortage at the store which clearly needs attention. The deli as a perfect example is staffed with one person, attending on-line orders and stocking the fridge with cold cuts, while customers wait. I have waited up to one hour which is unacceptable. It's a managing issue not a worker shortage. Sad to say that this will be the last time I come here as the problem is every weekend. read more

As far as BJs go, this particular one I'd say is about average. The location is pretty convenient if you're on the south shore of Long Island. It's just a couple blocks off the Meadowbrook Parkway, a few blocks off Sunrise Highway, and about a 5-minute drive from the Southern State Parkway (assuming there's no traffic of course). I also like that they have plenty of parking as well as BJs gas, which is great to fill up the tank at a discounted rate before heading home. Still, the customer service is "fine" or perhaps below average. On a recent visit, I wanted to order a book of stamps, which BJs discounts by a few dollars (I was already heading here for other essentials and decided to add it to the list). When you check out, you don't actually get a book of stamps but (like the gift cards) pay at the register and bring the receipt to the customer service desk so they can grab it from the locked closet they have in the front of the store. Well, I paid and brought my receipt to the customer service desk, which thankfully only had one or two people waiting before me. I hopped in line and noticed it was taking about 3-5 minutes per person. 10 minutes later it was my turn to head to the desk, which had 2 employees. 1 of the employees decided to go do something else and left, so I had to wait for the other employee. The customer there had a lot of grievances, so I waited another 10 minutes. Finally, after 20 minutes (remember I was 3rd in line) the employee called me over. I showed my receipt and she proceeded to the back to find the stamps. After 3-4 minutes she couldn't find it, so she called over 2 more employees. Together they searched the closet for another 5 minutes or so to say that they were out of stamps and they'd give me a refund. Altogether that meant I was the 3rd person in line and it took over 30 minutes to be told they were out of what I paid for. Meanwhile, the frozen foods I had purchased were starting to thaw, so I had to race home to get them in the freezer before they spoiled. Other than this one negative customer service issue, I'd say we come to BJs only when we need to. They have a great selection, but Costco seems to have much better service and still a very wide selection to choose from. Overall, this BJs, like I said, is "average". Having tried the Valley Stream BJs (worse location) and Westbury BJs (about the same or slightly worse), I'd say the options are slim anyway. read more

Went 2 times to fill propane and person was on break. How they do not have coverage is beyond me. Tried calling before I went for 3rd time and on hold for 25 minutes, no one ever answered. Went anyway and said they will have no propane till 4:30pm. had to go somewhere else even though I prepaid for BJ's propane. Also, they do not carry Bounty towels, Arm and Hammer litter, no tuna steaks and the strawberries were moldy. Will be turning in my card and going to Costco. Must better selection anyway. read more

The customer service at this location is far below average. When in a front facing job one would think customer service would be a top priority!!! Not at this location. As a customer sometimes you may have a question nothing complicated nothing difficult to answer something you would expect and employee to know by all means they work in the store so you think it's ok to ask a question right? Asking a simple question such as where a product can be found or where the bathroom is located you may be met with silence and a blank stare with absolutely no response or you might get a nasty I don't know did you check down there pointing you in a direction with no real directions...... Well organized food warehouse with a friendly & helpful staff,very clean and well organized and laid out, great prices for large quantities of the stuff that everybody wants and needs! I love coming here when I'm hosting a Super Bowl party or just entertaining at my house for the hot/cold hors d'oeuvres selection and great deals on beer and soda! I ordered my sons cake on December 7th for today. I ordered on the website and I had set the pick up time for 10am. I get to BJs and they have zero record of it even though I'm holding the email confirmation in hand. They were very standoffish and the man that seemed to be in charge of the bakery offered no apologies no explanation except that they must not have sent it. I ended up getting a cake they had there and had them write what I needed but an hour of my life gone when I actually ordered it way ahead of time to be sure it would be ready. I come here mostly for the gas! It's consistently cheap. Then I go inside. Good prices, much better than grocery stores. I don't have time to extreme coupon so it's nice that I can always pick them up in the store. I do wish they would remove the parking spaces against the fence as you enter from the street. Jen S. and I had an outing with her parents there. I had never actually been to a warehouse style supermarket before, so it was a new experience. An exciting adventure awaited. After getting the new card, we embarked with a cart wider than any vessel I had navigated inside a supermarket before. A necessary sized craft for the bounty of the voyage. Like a Fire Island Ferry, it needed wide berths to turn. Navigating a course at sea took longer once the crew saw the bounties ahead. Televisions were spotted and caused a brief docking while no one truly was looking for one. Cutting up and down aisles while avoiding those anchoring in the middle of the waterways. Determining how much frozen bounty would truly fit in our chest. Deciding that no one needed that many peaches or tomatoes. Heading towards the check out, I left the cart to retrieve the paper towels we had forgotten across the seas. I had a delightful time and would be back shortly to stock up on beverages. I love Bj's but why are the lines always so long. It always seem as if they do not have enough staff working. Good things about Bj's the variety of services. You can accomplish all of your shopping in one location including gas for your vehicle. Shop in bulk while using coupons. Bj's always offer coupons at the door in the circular. If you pay attention coupons are mailed to your home. Down side coupons the are emailed to you have to be clipped. No scanning your phone at the register. For man who do not have a BJ's membership they do offer free trials with a tax surcharge. If you don't have a membership you don't shop! read more
