I don't come to this location often but when I shop here the shelves are always nicely stocked. You can always find what you need. The store is not crowded, the aisles are not narrow you can go up and down the aisles with ease. I like the quality of the poultry and meats. Also it's nice how the beer is refrigerated. last week I was rudely told I was squeezing the avocados too hard.I have severe arthritis in both my hands. This week the lady in deli dept. was terribly rude to her coworker in front of customers then was rude to me as well when I tried to say something nice she over talked me and called for next the customer. This Keyfood location has really stepped up it's game ever since it remodeled years ago. Regardless of whether you walk in prime times or quieter hours everything for most part looks neat, fronted and fresh. Usually you see a friendly face or too stocking shelves or looking to see if you need help finding something/getting something off higher shelf. They have a solid bakery and deli department area. You can easily find fan favorites or pickup something new and exciting looking, and has always been super fresh! Location even has a very open bottle/can/glass recyclable machines area outside on the side of store that's super convenient to deposit your recyclables and then use small funds collected on you purchases. With ample parking and being right on Sunrise Highway, it's easy to get in and out. read more

Been shopping in key food for a few years i didn't realize its way overpriced until i found stop and shop in Oceanside.

The produce is fresh. The store is clean and the aisles are clear. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. The senior discount on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is a bonus. read more

Intermittently, I've been patronizing this store for over 12 years. Each time, it's been a pleasant experience. Clean, breezy, professional staff. I love the music. I believe it's a SiriusXM station, music from the 60s, brings back good memories. I've noticed, lately, there are more teenagers manning the cash registers. When they aren't serving a customer, the teenagers are waiting patiently for another customer, not neck bent looking at their phones. This is encouraging. Young folk working, staying out of trouble. The customers reflect the diversity of the surrounding neighborhood. People focused on getting in and out and being treated respectfully. This Key Food staff honors that. One thing I'd like to see: as I enter the store, disposable packets of wipes or moist towelettes with a garbage bin nearby would encourage good hygiene. Clean supermarket. Very spacious. The produce here is fresh, but more expensive than other supermarkets nearby. The deals are great though. There is a wide variety of products. There's a section if stuff from abroad. Keyfood is conveniently located and has a large parking lot. There is a deli and bakery as well as a fridge full of Carvel company cakes. Many kids from East Rockaway high school are employed here. Make sure to get a Key Food card! read more

I've always gone to shop at this Key Food because everyone is so nice and helpful. Today I had coffee beans that my son brought for me and I needed to grind them. Well, today was my lucky day! I went over to customer service and George Santana (the manager) was there. Not only did he go with me to grind the coffee with their coffee grinder but what a sweetheart. Came here after receiving a coupon in the mail welcoming me to the neighborhood ($10 off $50 / $5 off of $25). Everything was super clean and very well organized. When I got to the front register I have them the postcard coupon and Charlie (who I'm assuming is the manager) was really welcoming and congratulated me on my move. He was very accommodating and gave me the rundown on all the amazing features the store has (butcher, full time chef, produce department, fresh cut meat etc). He had me sign up for a club card (super fast and easy application) and told me if there was anything I liked that wasn't sold there he would order it for me. When i was leaving there was an employee at the door greeting and saying goodbye to customer. Really great customer service that you don't see everyday. read more

Totally must re-vamp my review! I can happily say, Key Food has exceeded my expectations months after its grand opening. Store is still clean as a whistle, staff is very attentive, and the the sales are now competitive. Loving it. This place has polished itself up and I can proudly call Key Food, my weekly shopping place. I really like that this Key Food has different products. Blood oranges, seaweed snacks, English chocolate, foie gras (not that I'd eat that last one!) Its just cool to see interesting stuff, right in my neighborhood. Best supermarket around! They have great meats, produce, deli department, and a wide selection of items. It's very clean, and the staff is super nice. If you need to know where something is, they will get it for you while you shop or take you to it. Never a line to check out. Don't understand why people are obsessed with King Kullen, Key Foods is way better. read more

This supermarket had lots of promise but in recent months I noticed a big decline in many departments. I have returned foul smelling salmon, spoiled smelly chicken breasts and more recently rotted smelly chopped meat. Also milk dated 9/6 was spoiled and sour days before likely to staff not refrigerating upon delivery. Egglands egg cartons contained broken eggs in more than 4 cartons selected. When the employee was notified he presented with a rude and unacceptable attitude. The manager was notified. I also brought an outdated quiche to the manager's attention. There is no focus on detail or quality and staff doesnt seem to care. With all the competition from nearby supermarkets I don't see this place doing well in the future. Although this supermarket excells at somethings, it fails horribly at others. For example, they have great meat here, I can always find a good brisket or Bell & Evans high quality chickens. Yet they had only 3 eggplants for sale on a Sunday Afternoon? And each was mushy and scarred. I found this a common theme throughout my visit as I went down my shopping list. The place is very clean compared to say a Pathmark or Waldbaums. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Deli is above average. I often pick up things like Crunchy Broccoli Salad, Egg Salad, and Curried Chicken salad just to name a few. I would like to see improvements in the fresh produce section as they don't have nearly enough items. They don't carry Brussel Sprouts? Where is the Asparagus? And of course, the awful eggplant options. Maybe the produce manager is on vacation. I could use a vacation. read more

Well let's start with the entrance. Everything looks nice until you meet the people who work their. If I could say racist and not get in trouble I would. Apparently all these grocery stores are owned by A-hold and it has a stranglehold on the whole country. People were rude, the customers and the employees. I got stared down by a cashier. The only good thing about it was the cashier that was helping me and not the sideways glances of the cashier behind us. I could feel her glaring. It was a terrible experience. IF you work in customer service you should serve your customers not make them feel uncomfortable when they are the whole reason you are getting paid in the first place. Unfortunately, we need to go somewhere since I'm boycotting Stop and Shop for the same reason. So for now, I need to find somewhere else to shop. read more

The aisles are too small and carts are left everywhere with one or two items but no one is with the carts! I go to pay, load all my items on the belt and the manager is standing there with the cashier trying to change out the drawer! I get she needed change but when your handing hundred dollar bills to other workers to bring change over while the cashier has money all over the place just doesn't seem safe for her! Who knows who would grab any of that money or hurt her while it's happening to get the money! read more

Really good store. Deli counter is especially great, compared to stop and shop and Kk. They know the meaning of "thin sliced." Salads are tasty, with many choices, and appear to be made in store. Parking is also so much better than other stores. When they didn't carry a product, i mentioned it to manager and then they started having it. it is such an improvement over predecessor Waldbaums. The reason for 4 stars vs. 5 stars is that it is a bit pricy. read more

Great store. Been working there for 3 1/2 years. Very neat, clean and friendly. Employees are wonderful. Prices are reasonable.

This Key Food is as good as it gets. Everything is stocked and the fruit and veg are always fresh. There's never a long wait, even before the Super Bowl, at the deli counter. Enough people to take care of you. They carry specialty items too. There's an Irish/English section with everything from Wine Gums, Lions Bars to real mint sauce and Guiness mustard. The parking is good and the aisles are spacious: no bumping carts. Best of all is the service. If they don't have it just ask for whatever you want and they'll order it for you. Friendliest and hardest working bunch of people you could find. The managers are really nice and call out for Jim, Kenny, Mike who really know everyone and every product. I was sick and they do delivery. Mike Johnson was his usual great self , Mike Ruggero helped and the lady of the day was Caitlin Boyd who patiently took the order and had the food and things I needed brought right into my kitchen.
