Let me tell y'all about my rollercoaster experience at Bob's Discount Furniture in Freeport, NY because, baby, I walked in there READY FOR WAR. I had my armor on (read: my best "I'm not here to play" face) because, after all the customer service drama I've endured with Bob's, they had sent me a check for--wait for it--99 cents. Yes, you read that right. A whole dollar minus a penny. It cost more to cut and mail that check than to just refund me properly. The audacity! So there I am, mentally prepared for a showdown, walking in like, "Let's do this." I was greeted at the door all polite-like, and then they sent me to the back to see the manager. Enter Rebecca, the store manager, and I thought, Here we go.... My style is to lead with a smile, you know, kill 'em with kindness first, just in case that's all it takes. And y'all, let me tell you--Rebecca completely flipped the script. She greeted me warmly, looked up my info in the system like a total pro, and didn't even blink when I handed her the legendary 99-cent check. I was fully expecting an all-day back-and-forth battle, but nope. Rebecca handled everything in seven minutes flat. Seven minutes! I had cleared my entire schedule for this nonsense, and she resolved it so fast I barely had time to get annoyed. Not only did I get my money back, but Rebecca single-handedly restored my faith in Bob's customer service and, honestly, humanity. The whole experience gave me whiplash--in the BEST way possible. Oh, and let me not forget: I've got pieces from Bob's that I bought years ago, and they're still holding strong. The SOLID WOOD furniture (which is what I have)? A+ durability. The customer service? Thanks to Rebecca, it's back on my nice list. So if you're ever at Bob's in Freeport, ask for Rebecca. She's the real MVP, and thanks to her, I'm back to being a loyal Bob's customer. Disappointed in my sectional, repair men were here three times. Delivery guys don't know what they're doing and they don't care!!!!!!!

This is the second time buying furniture from this location in ten years. The furniture selection and quality has improved since my previous purchase. Both Greg and Albert were great to work with while choosing and finalizing my purchase. Delivery was expensive as everything is these days but the guys were were on time, polite, careful, removed their shoes , efficient with assembly, respectful of the home and purchase. My new bed is heavenly, waiting to give the ok to deliver my sofa. read more

Bob's furniture is the home furnishings equivalent of Firestone auto service centers. It's not expensive; they'll get you in and out relatively quick and you get a good deal for something that you need. And you should go home happy. I stopped in and looked around once before coming back to purchase. When I returned, I was written up by Corey (Jacorey?). He answered a few Questions I had, but I pretty much helped myself. The one thing about Bob's selection that makes finding what you like difficult is that they don't offer too many alternate colors. Seems like you scan the showroom to find the shade you need for your room and then you hope to like the furniture that the color is attached to. And as an additional pet peeve, the designers seem to be enamored with nailhead accents, which I find dated and tacky (no pun intended). read more

My grandmothers birthday was valentines days. She'd been talking about how she needs new couches in her living room. She's never direct about asking for these things, she just says it a bunch of times out loud. I decided this must be her giving hints, so I bought her a new couch. Immediately when we arrived an associate came to help us. She tried out two types. The first one was too soft and she had a hard time getting up. The second one was more stern and it sat up higher and was much better for her. I told her she could get a whole set but she kept telling me she didn't want me to spend a bunch of money. It was during the Presidents' Day weekend sale. We arranged for the drop off to be that coming Wednesday. We live in two different states but I put both of our info down being that I was the payer and she's the recipient. I stayed informed via text and email prior to the delivery. We went to Bobs in Freeport for our couch (even a few days before we moved to be ahead) - BIG MISTAKE The first time the salesman gave us the wrong measurements, but was insisting they were correct. Once the delivery came, WE WERE CORRECT. IT DIDNT FIT. HOW EMBARRASSING for them. So then we had to keep it until they would pick it up. A big eye sore in the middle of our living room. Okay, mistakes happen. We go back, the Indian Nationality Woman Manager swears it was an honest mistake, watches our entire transaction the second time. Then the new salesman who brings the reciept for delivery gets into a verbal argument with the PRICK "boss" who approves the scheduled deliveries. They were more concerned about yelling at each other rather than helping us. Even when I asked to confirm, both the Store Manager and the arguing salesmen reassured us it was correct. What do we get? Another delivery, with two incorrect pieces. And not only that! 1 of the 3 pieces were missing. So now I have 2/3 of a couch I didn't order! So I have to call them again to pick this NEW couch up. They make us wait another week. So I now had 2/3 of a random couch in the living room for over two weeks. Then to make it even worse, they try to offer me store credit hahahaha. YEA OKAY. Never again doing business with BOBS in FREEPORT. OR BOBS IN GENERAL. But I would be careful buying furniture from them. They told us to eat and live and release bodily functions into these couches for two weeks before they picked them up. Disappointed!! Customer service is extremely important to me. Not one salesperson approached us to see if we needed anything. Even if you're with another customer, you acknowledge ppl that are in your vicinity. I watched one guy purposely walk the other way THREE TIMES!!! 2 walked by without a "hello" or "are you being helped". The supervisor promised me a refund of delivery fees after receiving broken furniture, confirmed my name and contact information, then "accidentally" got disconnected. She didn't bother calling back. When I called back. The new supervisor I spoke to assured me that didn't happen as the first supervisor I spoke to would not be allowed to offer me that refund and we can discuss it in a week when I call back. Stay Away From Bob's, especially the Freeport store. They are very dishonest. One of the cheap plastic hinges on my son's bedroom furniture broke. I tried to file a claim through the protection plan they sold me and it was rejected. They said the plan doesn't cover hardware. I've spoken to 4 supervisors and someone from Human Resources, and they refuse to fix the problem that they created. They delivered me a "new" piece, but it's half of another couch!! Still not the one I want. They refuse to offer me a full refund - only offering a refund for the part they delivered this week. The man I spoke to on the phone he said he noted everything in the notes and to go to the Freeport store to finalize the refund, and nothing was noted at all. No one in the store was able to help, they just put me on speakerphone with customer service who still refused to do anything! Every day use items like chairs and beds and furnature with drawers will beeak. THE GOOF PROOF WARANTY IS A SCAM. The company Guardian that carries the warranty covers nothing. All my claims come back denied. For example... My chairs are all breaking. The support band within the chair broke. I would give half a star if I could. Upon going into bobs you can't believe the deals--the furniture is beautiful and the prices are a fraction of the cost of other outlets. But now I know why. We purchased a "bonded leather" couch and sectional. It lasted maybe 9 months before it started "flaking" we don't have any children or pets clawing out the couch and it just completely is torn up! This couch is only two years old and take a look at the photos--it's awful! What's worse is my poor in laws purchased the same couch based on my initial recommendation and now they too have a flaking, peeling, horrific couch that they have to cover. Steer clear--this furniture DOES NOT LAST. If you can afford a new couch every 9months and don't care about throwing money away be my guest. Extremely friendly professional and accommodating and spent a good amount of time with me picking out the best option/size for my new couch and chair,went w the chocolate brown Maggie || and a nice matching swivel chair and I couldn't be happier! I got the protection plan,special financing and delivery at a price/payments that I was comfortable with, delivery was set up less than a week later and the guys made it a cinch to get in a tight doorway down to my basement/man cave! My husband and I went to Bob's sunday evening and purchased a $1800 bed frame. We were helped by a sales rep named Craig. He was very nice. I informed him that I wanted the frame expedited if possible due to medical issues. As per the sales rep. It won't be available until tuesday. As per the sales rep. It will be delivered Tuesday morning. I took off of work and my husband cleared out the room. Tuesday morning I called to see exactly what time the frame will be delivered and was told. There was no delivery date scheduled. Even after I received an email confirmation. This upset me very much. I was told the delivery can be made for the following day. I informed the rep that's not acceptable. Money and time was wasted because someone didn't do their part. I asked to speak to a manager. Dodwin the so called manager came on the phone. He stated he was reviewing my account. He stated the date was never set and it could be delivered tomorrow. I said...if I except tomorrow's delivery date. I need to be compensated. Either take off the delivery cost or discount the frame. As per Dodwin "it doesn't work that way". I informed him neither does wasting my time and money. I would like a refund. He quickly transferred me to Anthony who processed the refund. There was no...what can I do to make this customer happy. How can I keep her coming back. That lack of empathy, inconsiderate, I don't care/want to be bother with her came right through. I was appauled. Especially coming from a retail back ground..now in the medical field. From that experience.....it brought me back to my very first encounter at the store which I forgot to write about. So here is part two. Needless to say. I won't be returning. What a shame.....especially with a newly purchased home. I was looking to fill with a few items from Bob's. A few months ago I came into the store with my mom and sister. We were hanging at the beach that day and didn't look up to par. No one greeted us. I stopped an African American young man and ask for help. Really upset by doing the wrong thing. I spent nearly 2 grand on a mattress and within a year it was sagging over 3 inches. Customer service said they would do an even exchange and I waited for two months. No mattress. Customer service kept delaying the date. I decided to just find a new mattress and guess what, the newer model of the equivalent mattress was 300 dollars more. Bob's refused to let us get it and made us pay the difference, which I felt was unfair due to the delay time and the fact I was recovering from surgery. I asked to get a refund so I could go to another store and that wasn't allowed as well. Just beware with them... I just want whomever this email reaches to know, that I've had the worst experience of my life with your company. From beginning... to well, not end because I've now been dealing with your company for almost 2 months. From the moment we walked in to your Freeport NY location, it has been a nightmare. We were greeted by a sales associate, who helped us... then another, and another, all for one transaction. Within this one transaction, there has been NOTHING but confusion. We've had our order cancelled on us , WITHOUT US BEING INFORMED, not once, not twice, but THREE times... and we only found out by, CALLING TO SEE WHERE OUR ORDER IS. In between this time, we've had our order placed amongst two different people, as opposed to the ONE person who was handling the ordering. We've also had items we paid CASH for put on gift cards for whatever reason, just for us to have to PHYSICALLY go to the store FIVE TIMES and sit for FOUR HOURS please check your cameras at this store, because I wouldn't make that up, FOUR hours, just to be told they fixed everything and now our delivery is going to be DELAYED. So I sat for FOUR HOURS just to be told by an associate that our order isn't going to be when we thought it was because they ACCIDENTALLY canceled it , how can you ACCIDENTALLY cancel something and not inform the customer ???!!! I've never in my life had high blood pressure, this whole ordeal has caused so much strain on me and my life it isn't even funny. Let's not forget the fact that I only have a CORNER piece to my couch, and now have to wait until AUGUST 30th FOR THE REST DUE TO THE FREEPORT LOCATION CANCELLING MY ORDER FOR AGAIN, NO REASON. now there's this... and this is what gets me... you hire technicians to do a job, you'd think they've installed a million beds at this point, you send someone here to put together a bed, and he INSTALLS IT INCORRECTLY! Had a horrible experience with Bobs. Do NOT go there go somewhere else... went to their store in Freeport LI. and was met by Johnny O. Nice enough guy up front but told me that the delivery team would take my old furniture just make sure you take care of them. I get what that means... they come on the delivery day, guy doesn't speak ANY English so I call my wife and ask her to please talk to the guy. She does, he takes a picture and leaves I'm like WTF just happened??? "CUSTOMER SERVICE" calls me says sorry we don't take furniture???? I was told they would. It literally took me 15 minutes to break it down wasn't hard to do I was told they would do it, soooooo I figured let them. Second delivery attempt. My wife and I both take off just in case they send someone who doesn't speak English again. I finally get a text we ATTEMPTED to deliver your furniture. We are literally sitting 15ft from the front door no one came to our door and rang our Ring doorbell or old school knocked on the door. I call "CUSTOMER SERVICE" got the run around for nearly 3 hours on the phone. Now mind you I said Ring doorbell right.... I have their guy on video walking halfway up my walkway taking a picture then leaving. He never comes to the door. I purchased a headboard and mattress frame in early may 2021. I waited weeks for the delivery. Finally received the bed frame which was not as described online. My mattress when I put it in the frame was towering into the ceiling. Tried to return it but got the runaround online with customer service who told me I could not return it and then hung up the line. When the headboard arrived I refused it and sent it back. Don't ever buy from Bob's. Bought their top of the line leather couch and love seat. In 2 years the leather started peeling across the end of the couch. I had "Goof Proof" protection and they wouldn't cover it. Bob's says its normal wear and tear. That's a joke. They absolutely know they are selling garbage and run from backing up their product. Why buy from a company like this? Look at all the reviews here, they are basically the same complaints... the same issues. I didn't by the cheaper bonded leather, it was the genuine stuff. If they paid towards their customer's issues, the way they pay for advertising it could be a special company. I'm nothing short of disgusted with Bob's.
