Why have extended hoses if you're not going to use them? We pulled into the Linden BJ's Gas today and were shocked by the line. Before getting in it, we asked if we could use the extended hose to fuel from the opposite side of our vehicle. We were told no. What's frustrating is that these pumps are equipped with extra-long hoses specifically designed to reach either side of the car. Other BJ's locations--like Edison--allow customers to use them, which keeps the lines moving and dramatically reduces wait times. Instead, everyone is forced to wait for a pump on their vehicle's fuel-door side, creating backups like the one in this photo. We ended up leaving and driving to the Edison location instead. BJ's invested in long-reach hoses for a reason. It would be nice if this location actually used them to improve the customer experience. read more

Of all the BJ's I frequent, this location is consistent in having a half empty produce section. No matter the day or time the shelves will be empty. The scan guns hardly work, the staff has nothing but attitude when you ask for assistance, and the exit is always backed up with the receipt checking. read more

Optical Services by Chris. We have gone to Costco, Lens Crafters, and a small shop within the Staten Island mall. Costco and Lens Crafters would not touch my wife's Fendi frames she owned. The small shop did, and my wife received them; they did not work correctly, and they stated that her prescription needed to be corrected, not the lens. We then went to BJ's and met Chris, and within a few seconds, he told us he could fulfill her prescription on her Fendi Frame. We waited while he finished up with another customer. During this time, I was looking at frames but wasn't there to purchase any due to just ordering my frames at Lens Crafters. Then I saw a deal to buy one frame, the second free, and found two that could work for me. While Chris helped my wife, I listened, realized Chris's knowledge and experience, and felt confrontable speaking to him about my two-frame going forward. At the end of the encounter, my wife had her frames ready to be processed, and I also had two pairs of frames processed. One frame was something I would have as a second pair, like the ones from Lens Crafters, and the other was a pair that Chris recommended for work only due to the amount of computer work I do, and progressives are the best type of glasses. I paid less than Lens Crafters for one frame with eyeMed insurance for the two I ordered at BJs. Granted, the frames are not Oakley, but the lens was much better on a few specs, such as a broader progressive angle and better-polarized transitions. The experience was so good we brought our two sons and purchased three more frames with Chris' help. We have all received our Glasses, and for every pair, Chris made sure comfort and proper expectations were done, and we are a happy family. read more

With my relatively recent venture into the Big Box store shopping experience, I've been shopping at different BJ Wholesale locations since I've got this Groupon membership sometime this fall. I went to the Linden location the other week. It's off of Route 1-9 and it has its own lot. The store is large. The aisles are tidy and organized. The lines move quickly and it's clean. Also, many of the staff there converse with customers in both English and Spanish. It's a good BJ's location and I'll most likely be back again. read more

I generally go to BJs in Jersey City. BIG difference between the two places. I explicitly went to Linden today because the idea of BJs is the layout is supoosed to be the same regardless of which one you go to. I went to buy meat and I was totally disappointed. The meat section is non-existent! They have more meat at your local supermarket. Plus the store in JC has a bigger selection of EVERYTHING else. Literally. I only gave it 2 stars because it was close. I live in Elizabeth. Never going back. read more

As far as big-box food locations go this is about typical. The prices are good the store is pretty well stocked but the parking lot is pretty much a scary location as there is not enough lighting in this parking lot or the entrance way. This parking lot looks like a place I feel like bringing a flashlight to in order to feel safe and we're not just talking about people but we're talking about places you could trip in the parking lot. Not that we had any problems or saw anything going on in this parking lot but I just feel like they should definitely put more lighting in the parking lot for customers. The cashier and the person checking receipts at the door were very polite which is a great to see. As well the store seemed pretty clean inside as well. read more

Tucked away off the 1-9 in Linden is a BJ's that you could easily miss if you're driving by. Thanks to a recent gift membership, I've gotten to check out this store again after many years. This BJ's is not flashy (but are there any flashy ones really?). You're there for two things: cost savings and free samples. Let's be real. This BJ's is very similar in design to others I've been to with a section in the front for electronics near the cashiers, seasonal items right in front of the cashiers and then aisles of housewares focused on the left and more food based items towards the right. The back section is dedicated to prepared foods such as cakes and breads. Scattered throughout are stations for you to sample some of the items being sold nearby, generally around the frozen food area. Behind the cashiers is a small cafeteria style counter with hot dogs, pizza, cookies and other items that are probably terrible for you but taste great (I haven't tried any of them yet however). Everything here is sold in bulk. You're not likely to find a small pack of oatmeal here, no. Instead you get a gigantic container of oatmeal that could last one guy months. It's a great place to stock up, but I do recommend a few things: 1. Check online for coupons. 2. At the front door there are "in store" coupons that will save you more. 3. Do the math: sometimes their prices per item are only equivalent or actually more than some other stores. If you're willing to travel to save, it's worthwhile. There's another great part about this branch: a gas station selling exclusively to BJ's members. Two weeks ago I filled up my tank at a price that beat other gas stations in the area 5-10 cents per gallon! I really enjoy coming to this store and knowing I'm getting good prices. All the produce I've picked up is fresh and I'm happy to report they have some healthier options nowadays such as sugar free peanut butter. I know I'll be using this membership to the max for the next year! read more

The worst food store I have been to under the Covid pandemic. The store carts are not being wiped out and the wipes are completely out. The store workers are not following social distancing, I had to ask the store worker to move back Twice while she was speaking with me. When waiting in line to check out there is no 6 feet social distancing. They use all registers therefore the person checking out next to me is less than 6 feet , at best a foot or less away from me. Obviously BJ doesn't care about the health of its customers or follows social distancing guidelines. Will not be returning to this store. read more

By far this is the best BJ'S i have ever been to the service is excellent there. Its organized so you know where everything is. I have been to other BJ'S also but by far this the best one because of how the management is and the way its set up. Its like a country club compared to other wholesale clubs there is a lot of parking and inside its huge so you dont feel like you're packed in a can of sardines. They also have a gas station which has amazing gas and the lines if there are any they are always moving I recommend coming here if you dont like waiting around all day for parking. But that is all the good stuff. Not everything is perfect the lines in this store are long and you have to watch the register so they dont mess up (it depends on the worker) Overall everything is amazing in my opinion about this place. read more

This is a very nice BJs if you can get past the experience of being directly across the street from the Linden Oil Refinery. It is a scary sight to see all of that smog flowing out of those smokestacks and I wonder just how much damage I am doing to myself breathing that in. That being said, the store itself is great. I went here because the BJs closer to my house doesn't carry Raos Marinara Sauce, which my family loves. I also love the BJs greek olives and a few other things I needed to grab. The store is open and spacious, and very clean. BJs seems to be slacking in cleanliness compared to the other big club stores in the area. I also find BJs lags way behind in freshness of produce. This store proved me wrong. Everything was neat and clean and the shelves were all stocked with fresh fruits and veggies. If it wasn't so far away from my house and across from all of that smog, I would consider this to be my new BJs, but I think I will have to stick with Kearny for now. read more

We ventured to this location for our second visit to a BJs after getting a two month free trial membership. After the first time, we were thinking about actually signing up and joining, as it seemed that it would work out that we would save money in the long run. Our visit to the Linden location really soured us on this chain. It began when our 36 pack of toilet paper rang up at 6 bucks more expensive than the price tag on the shelf had indicated. I walked with a manager over to the location of said toilet paper. Above it was a price tag with a big red arrow pointing down to the product in question, all of which were 36-roll packs. But the manager pointed to how the sign indicated 24-roll packs in small black type. Apparently, it was "clearly marked" that the price referred to 24 packs, despite the sign being above a pile of 36-packs with a big red arrow pointing at them. He was stubborn and made me, as the customer, feel like the idiot. So I grabbed a 24 pack and brought it up to the cashier where my boyfriend was waiting. Someone came over to take the 36 pack off and ring in the 24 pack. It looked like it got rung in twice, and I commented as such, but the employee assured me it had only been rung in once. As we were leaving, the receipt checker at the door (the only helpful person in this place) indicated to us that our toilet paper had been rung in twice. We went back to the guy who had done that, and he indicated that we had to wait for customer service. We did so for 10 or 15 minutes, during which I felt more and more frustrated. As we were leaving, I mentioned to the manager how we had been thinking of joining but now, after that extremely unsatisfactory experience, would not be doing so. He said that he was "sorry" I felt that way. It really felt like was saying "screw off" with nicer words. So, either this was a case of intentionally confusing signage, or a complete mistake. Either way, the incorrect signage, the manager's reaction to it, and our having to wait on line to correct another employee's mistake were unacceptable. read more

This location of BJ's is probably the most shopper friendly wholesale club I have ever been to. It is almost never busy. It has a great selection of items and it has the cheapest gas in NJ and you do not have to be a member to purchase gas. Try it out you will like it. Ciao!! read more

I don't know how they have people parking with all those shopping carts left all over. I wanted to do some shopping the other day but after seeing the parking lot I changed my mind. I'm always worried that somebody with scratch my car, not intentionally but with a shopping cart that was left behind. U can actually see one cart touching one of the cars on the pic. This is beyond unacceptable! I don't know how can they get away with it. Please clean up your mess otherwise people start going somewhere else! read more

This was my first wholesale club I've ever been to. Oh, such memories. I remember walking in to be greeted by the electronics section right off the bat. I used to go crazy in this section alone and marvel at all the "cool computer stuff". We'd fight to ride in the carts and as we grew older, to push the carts. We used to run around grabbing up as many free food samples as we could and begging our dad to get us extra samples. Enough with my trip down memory lane. I wasn't really a fan of this store (BJ's) until I lived with my future wife. I would always say "why do we need 2 of everything? " or "why do we need 8 out of something? ". But I understand that it is best to stock up. We come here once a month to shop. The store is very big and full with anything and everything a family needs. Now that we have a daughter we definitely need to stock up on the diapers. They have those baby needs in their own area. The store is very organized. The employees there are very helpful. Occasionally I have to pick stuff up for my family that has a BJ's card, and it's basically like every other wholesale club store around. Massive quantities of random things like moisturizer and plastic cups and popsicles and frozen steaks and stuff. This review is regarding the Tire Center. While the employees were nice. I don't feel they were as knowledgeable as employees at other tire stores. I was the only person/car in the center at the time, yet it took over an hour to put my tires on. Then their machine broke so I had to come back the next day. I just had no confidence that the work was being done correctly. I got over it though (well once I leave this review I'll be over it. lol) If I could do it over again, I would have gone somewhere else. I won't be going back to any of the BJ Tire Centers again. I had a better experience at Mavis the week before (with the repair of my old tires). read more

Shop here somewhat regularly and the experience has been going down hill for the last 9 months. This weekend was particularly bad as registers were down and the lines were over crowded. Management did nothing to correct the decision but made it worst by making customers like myself who stood in line for over an hour wait while ushering customers who were behind us move to newly open lines that were operational. Talk about adding insult to injury. I will never shop here again. I'll drive 20 miles out of my way to another location. read more

I like this BJ very much. The staff is friendly, the variety is great. It has more of the things I actually use than Costco and it's a bit chaper. The bakery is excellent and diverse and so is the deli counter. Their Polish Ham is very good. A little Spanish influence makes everything better. Love it! read more

Great products but some individuals are bias to certain costumers. For example, this guy right here. He allowed a costumer to use their phone with the membership, no questions asked. However, when I tried to do the same thing and he said No and decided to question me. I strongly believe everyone should be treated the same way. Once again, BJ's in Linden fails me. 12:00 today at the store could not purchase the rotisserie chicken's because they were not bagged . The person was out to lunch after I complained three times finally someone came at 12:25 to bag the chickens this is ridiculous . Went to purchase Botto's sausage, once again, only had Mexican chorizo. Bring back the regulat and hot that I had been buying for over 10 years!!! Also, Meat cases were empty as approx 30 boxes of meet sat on a metal cart with nobody to stock!! This store had gone down hill 100 percent. They need to get new management in there to get it back under control ! I normally never write a review but I have had it ! Water in bulk and chicken breasts for the week! Only come here for certain items most of the time unless i see certain things i need on sale . The samples stations are a plus at times :p its always busy here for the most part as well so try and come early if u dont want to be waiting in line for a while. read more

Place has been mismanaged for the last 3 years or so. I used to shop at the Watchung NJ location and it's night and day compared to Linden NJ. Nothing is stocked from week to week. Diaper rash cream is there one week and not the next. Why pay for a membership when you have to shop at another store anyway. read more

Went to This BJs today. Wasted an hour and a half waiting for the FIDIOT manager to open up 6 of the 7 closed registers. Wow! The lines were into the aisles and she's standing around smiling like nothing is going on in her store. Since the closing of Sam's Club down the road I get that this store is going to be more crowded, however, doesn't it make sense to have more people working when at 9 am there are already over 200 people in your store. I know it does to me, I was one of those 200 people and got frustrated seeing 8 people, the manager included just standing idle. When asked to open more registers she looked at me like a was asking her to send me to the moon. Wasted gas, toll, and precious time. Won't be coming back to THIS BJs in the future. Going to Sam's club now to open a membership and will be contacting corporate office at bjs to complain about this store. We have been members for 20years and will not be returning. Probably the worst job to work at! I was there for about 3 months as a cashier and I never got recognition for the hard work I did for that dump. I worked extra hard to the point my back hurt, I covered a lot of people's shifts; in conclusion, I did more than what I should've done for this company the 3 excruciating months I was there. These people don't care whether you're sick, whether you have family issues, whether you're in a hospital, whether you break a bone, or whether you're about to die...you "must" show up to work regardless. They only care about themselves and their money. Especially one in specific; her name is Monica. Tall blonde lady. I went into work sick, nearly about to pass out, crying at the register, wanting to go home and rest and this lady had the audacity to say to my face with tears running down my cheeks that I was "ruining the company"...I then got fired for my absences EVEN THOUGH I had doctors notes which apparently BJ's "does not accept." I highly recommend not getting a job there. You have a chance of not even making it past the 90 day probation they give you without them finding a poor excuse, any excuse, to fire you. read more
