BJ's doesn't exist where I come from, so I was a bit skeptical about becoming a member at any store like that that isn't Costco. That being said, BJ's is too close to my house to ignore, so we decided to give it a shot when they were running a very cheap membership special and have renewed our membership since. I don't buy a ton in bulk mostly due to lack of space to store things, so mainly use my membership to stock up on staples like toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, wipes, and some small things like toothpaste. Every now and then, I'll take a walk around the store and buy some grocery items because you can get a good deal on things you eat all the time... There are free samples like Costco, too! BJ's is also our first stop before hurricane season kicks off to stock up on food and water as part of our survival kit. If you get in early enough, the variety (especially for water!) is plentiful. More than anything, I use BJ's for the cheap gas. The lines can be long if you go during peak times, but if you can avoid that, it's definitely worth it. BJ representatives visit Del Monte annually to renew and to recruit new members. This is how we became members. Once a month stocking up on diapers, fresh fruit, meat, fish, coffee, basically anything in bulk is a necessity. Need spices to cook for a party this is the place to come. I went next door to get Johnny Walker Blue which I was dying to try but discovered I can't stand the taste of peat. Yuck, so I gave it away to my father in law. Occasionally there are a few good tequila selections. Have a new born and need parking for parent parking ? So long as you have that green decal hanging from the mirror, you are covered. Somethings you need in bulk. For a minimal membership fee you can stock up on shampoo, soap, trash bags, tp, food, wine and much more. Somethings are a deal and somethings don't seem like a very big deal. You have to be selective to save money. We get fruit there, the produce is usually pretty good. I have called today about 10 times from 10 in the morning to 1.30 pm to ask a simple question: if a cheese that has been ordered for 2 weeks arrived so I don't have to take the long drive and find they don't have it. Everything you need until you have to wait in line to pay. For such a big store- having two cashiers for a giant line seems unwise and cheap. We were finally able to pay after waiting in line for a whopping 25 minutes. This isn't Publix, you buy here in bulk and a lot- so why isn't there enough employees working. When we went through the customer service to return something and there's only one person working for a 10 person line. Parking here is insane-Also they don't pick up the carts from the parking lot. If you wanted a cart you had to go out and find one that someone left in the parking lot on your own. Not a fan, I think this is the year we let out membership lapse. read more

Specifically for the gas station. The pumps are S L O W. 10-20 minutes to pump 15 gallons is standard. This was not an isolated event. The diesel pump is always this slow. Add to that the wait in line to get to a pump because people love to pump gas at the diesel pump. Wouldn't it be nice if BJs addressed that issue for us diesel customers? I won't hold my breath. BJs customer service has gotten worse than walmart or sedanos, which are the lowest rating in So Florida. The attitude of the Cuban communists now exiled working there is outrageous. The attitude in which your membership is asked and verified is unacceptable. Have only one cashier with light off to force you to self pay. Will only allow you to go to the cashier if you have more than 20 items. If I have to do the cashier job, I better be reimbursed for it. The prices fail to be competitive. Recently became a member for the first time. I noticed a lot of the reviews are from years ago and wanted to chime in with my recent experience. Was surprised they carry many of the same brands (and many more!) as Costco but at more reasonable sizes so perishable items don't go to waste. The clientele is way more polite and patient than Costco shoppers and the staff is very personable and savvy about the inventory. The way everything is laid out makes sense. We found this BJ's to have great parking, ample product selection, attentive staff, great prices and tons of membership perks and rewards. All the meats and produce were fresh and the store overall was clean, organized and well-stocked. Was a bit weary of leaving Costco after 15 years for BJ's but super happy with the decision thus far. Almost ZERO food has gone to waste from our first shop. Prices are great and the membership is worth every penny. read more

It's definitely not Costco but it comes close to the quality of it on many items. I tagged along with my neighbor as we came to buy household goods like toilet paper, shampoo, paper towels, body soap, detergent, etc. and I was pretty impressed with their selection. The layout is pretty open so I didn't feel like I was going to run over people wit my cart. I ended up picking out some meats to grill over the weekend and also some beauty items to send overseas. The membership prices are lower than Costco but also don't have offer as many perks. The location is conveniently located right by the Palmetto Expressway and Coral Way with plenty of parking. I do think they need to open more registers because the checkout process and lines were daunting to sit through. I also decided to also pour gas but the pumps were super slow. This BJ's Wholesale Club opened a few months back and every visit feels like the grand opening. The staff members are very attentive and the club is extremely clean. If you enjoy shopping in Miami happily and peacefully then I recommend visiting an hour before closing time and obviously it's even better if you can make that happen on a weekday. BJ's is just like Costco and Sam's Club; larger quantities offered therefore big boxes/packaging. You can really taste the freshness and quality in all their Wellsley Farms (BJ's private label company) products. The BJ's brand Wellsley Farms reminds me of the Publix Brand. Publix brand products are also fresh and you can taste and see the quality. Their is plenty of parking and they have a liquor store next door. They have a decent selection of wines. If you need fuel they offer a gas station with plenty of pumps and low by the gallon prices. The 93 octane offered at the BJ's fuel station can be considered one of the lowest in the city. You must scan your membership card before paying for the fuel. You will definitely save a few pennies by being a member of the club. This might just be the "newest" club in Miami. I am very surprised at the organization and good service for a new heavily populated location. They also have added new areas which are new from the last time I visited BJ's. They have a new deli service section and have expended on their selection of chesses and overall they had more selections of just about everything. Its a new addition to the area. Ok, this review will definitely get updated once they've gotten up-to-speed and have their full compliment of customers, but right now the place is awesome. Went over to the just opened location just a bit east of the Palmetto on Coral Way. First and foremost, they've got a giant gas station for members which offers extended hours (6:30am-10:00pm, which is far longer than the regular store hours). Once inside I had to wait in a bit of a line to get my complimentary 60-day membership, but that's understandable and the only line I had to wait in the entire time I was there. The place is spacious, clean, has a polite staff, and offers just about everything you've come to expect from these warehouse club stores. It wasn't perfect and didn't have everything I was looking for, but they are a welcome addition to the marketplace and will hopefully force Costco and Sam's Club to up their game a bit. read more

I was a die-hard Costco fan and didn't want to go to BJ's because of bad customer service I'd unfortunately experienced at another BJ's location. However, when this new location opened near our house, I thought I'd give it another shot, and I'm so glad I did! The store's hours are much better than Costco's; this location is cleaner and so much easier to access, and shopping is a breeze.... Because it's so conveniently located, I generally only go to buy a few things at a time, and I LOVE the self-service checkout. Not only is it incredibly fast (faster than most retail stores!), but they always have someone there to help, in case you get stuck. As another reviewer mentioned, BJ's prices are a little higher than Costco's for a few of the items we usually purchase, but the differences aren't that significant and - again - I really love the location, the lack of long lines, and the convenient hours. Also, the gas station is awesome. Always the best price for gas; plus, it's well lit, and even if there's a line (which is rare), it moves fast. The customer service at this store is also really great. Each time I visit, I've had positive experiences... And a notable one is when I was looking for an item and one of the managers, Daniel, literally went and got the forklift to bring down a palette of the item I was seeking. He followed all the right protocols and did everything quickly, just really going above and beyond, to help me. I was very impressed. Hope Daniel and the team will keep up the good work to make this one of the BEST BJ's Wholesale Clubs in the nation... They give the store a good name, and I highly recommend this location to others. read more

The rudeness of the staff extends from the door to the check out to the management. I won't be renewing my membership I have emailed customer service multiple times about the issues I have had with discrimination and out right rudeness of this location, all have been unanswered. It is a shame that this location is tarnished by the poor quality of people that work here and that it was not turned into a Costco or Sam's Club instead as BJ's has dropped quality seriously in past years. This BJ's is sort of seems small compared to the BJ's I'm used to going to but it pretty much has most of what you expect from a BJ's. Bulk Hot Pockets with only two flavors to choose from. Check. 50 pound bag of rice. Check. A big clock on a stand with hooks to hang plants on. Um Check? My only complaint is that when you need some help they are nowhere to be found and when you finally do find someone they either don't know or point you in the wrong direction. read more

My husband went to bjs to do groceries as I am high risk and have to stay in due to covid-19. He bought chicken breasts and when he came home it smelled so terrible. The chicken is rotten.
