BJ's Wholesale Club is a membership-only warehouse chain selling a variety of bulk grocery items, electronics, and home goods. Some of the Club's features are Apparel, Footwear, Bakery, Deli. Beer, Wine, Gas, Lottery, Optical, Pick-Up in Club, Propane, and Tire Center. Most BJ members join because they have large families and can greatly benefit from buying in bulk at discount prices. Others enjoy the benefit of obtaining gas at special discount price. And other for a number of individual interests that no one could imagine. For example I joined mostly because their Deli stocks Chorizo Cantimpalos, a Spanish dried-cured chorizo sausage, typically made from pork and beef, that's popular as a ready-to-eat tapas or cooked in stews. It's produced in the province of Segovia, Spain, and it's known for its coarse texture and distinctive flavor. Curently one of their most popular service is their Optical Service. Not only are you able to order prescription eyeglasses at very reasonable prices, but now they have a Doctor of Optometry on the premises to provide Comprehensive Eye Exams there, using State-of-the-art technology. One can schedule an appointment or just walk in. This service is very convenient as well as saving members time and money. I definitely recommend getting a membership here, especially since now in order to motivate you to do so they are sending email or email yearly membership offers to join for only $20 so future customers can experience the advantages of membership at a discount price before committing themselves to pay full price without knowing if it really will benefit them.

I visited the gas station for BJs in Roanoke and loved how the station was set up. There were no lines for me to wait and the price per gallon for regular gas was only $3.87. This was the best price I could find in the area. The gas station facility was very clean and no trash floating around outside. It was easy to get in and out as well, which I really appreciated.

I like looking at new locations. This store was in a convenient area. The employees were nice.

Ask the Community - BJ's Wholesale Club

Does the Roanoke VA BJ's have any food available to eat there, like a little restaurant type place?

No, it doesn't. Some Saturdays they give out samples of products so you can try them out, but no place to sit down and eat. Sam's Club does have a little restaurant type where they sell pizza slices and hot dogs.

My wife and I recently moved to the Roanoke area, and we were disappointed by the state of this particular location. In our experience, Aldi stores are clean, well-organized, well stocked, and staffed by helpful, friendly people. This location falls short on every count. The floors were dirty, with coolers leaking onto them. We saw rotting produce and grimy shelves. Restocking also seems to be a persistent problem; the items we've come to rely on from Aldi are consistently missing like our sourdough loafs, Keifer, and Coconut Water. We know this isn't typical of Aldi as a company; we've visited dozens of locations across two states and never had this experience elsewhere. This store clearly needs new management, and we hope corporate takes notice, because we don't believe they'd want this representing their brand. We're loyal Aldi shoppers, but until this location improves, we'll be buying our groceries elsewhere in Roanoke.

It's interesting that the container expands as the juice ferments to the point where it is very tight and bulging until the cap is removed. I won't be buying anymore orange peach mango juice. There was a young female cashier near the front, and then I noticed that by the time we were at the register, a thin white male was there eyeing my grandson who'd just paid for his purchase before me. So I asked him if he needed to speak to the cashier before she assisted me. The guy slid his eyes towards my grandson again then shook his head. The devil couldn't even pretend that he hadn't shown up to racially profile my grandson. And I made it known that I knew exactly what he was doing. My grandson was aware of it as well. I've noticed that every time I'm in that store, all of a sudden there's a white male employee passing by. They must have cameras in the back, and as soon as a Black person walks in they're on high alert. If this happens again, I'm writing the corporate office. So Roses employees, you better be sneakier the next time or I will definitely be calling your racist tail out! And Black people, just be aware that they're assuming the worst about you even though your salary may be twice as high as theirs. They may be renters while you own your home . Your credit score may be much higher than theirs. That's if they even have credit! But that's racist America. Always has been. Always will be.

Kylie, the manager, said they do adjustments from 9-5 Monday through Saturdays, but we would have to wear masks which was fine. They do not charge for adjustments. We arrived at around 4PM and had to call the phone number on the door because the door was locked. Kylie answered and she was able to help us. She put on gloves, took our temperatures, and let us inside. Then she asked me what was the issue with my glasses and did a quick check of how my glasses were sitting on my ears. She adjusted them and gave them back to me to wear and reassured me to take my take because she understood that typically you'd have to wear your glasses for 5 minutes to actually see if it fit. We went back and forth a bit before my glasses were comfortable. Kylie is so attentive and caring! She is so sweet and her customer service is wonderful. I highly recommend getting glasses or any adjustments here if you can.

How bad could it be? The answer is pretty dire. The parking lot was a nightmare, as this store is at the end of a row of stores with pedestrians aimlessly milling at their own pace through the single road to get there. Walking into the store, it was cavernous but really rather empty. Some of the carpet was messy, particularly remarkable when you consider the horde of Roombas and other similar devices that are in stock here; apparently they don't have one of their own. I had a few theoretical tech needs but couldn't find anything to meet them in stock. But whatever, I went to pick up the one thing I'd already bought. I opened my pickup email, and clicked a link. It told me to go to the checkout line. The checkout line was painfully slow, with a few people talking endlessly, in part about the store's rewards program and in part about other needlessly complex minutiae of their transaction. When the line in front of me didn't move for ten minutes and the other one did, I hopped over, but a *store employee* cut in front of me in order to use his employee discount to buy a bag of chips. Slowly. While chatting it up. Only after that did I actually get any service, at which point I was told that the line for pickup was a customer service desk elsewhere that wasn't immediately obvious. And only after another wait did I finally receive the singular item I came for and get the hell out of there. If this experience was supposed to compete with online shopping, this industry won't be around much longer.
