The parts with the doors ended up not being as straightforward as I'd thought when ordering (from elsewhere) and the build structure in my walls wasn't as consistent as should have been (house was built in 2003, so whomever did it is probably retired or dead.) The guys took this project on and stayed committed all day to get it done. The end result? Gorgeous installation and smooth operation. They were can-do and communicated early and often throughout the day. For me, communication is essential, because that makes it partnership. I would definitely ask for these guys to help out with other projects in the future (I see an outside fence in the future...)

They advertised on their website they are licensed. But as of 10/21/2024, they have a suspended license. Horrendous experience…read more Imagine planning over 3 months in advance, spending over 25k to install floors, over 2 months of the physical installation, and 6 months to complete the project (due to ordering/inventory issues). The worst part is that the squeaks were not repaired before the install. 5 extremely loud joists in the most used locations of the house. We ended up hiring another contractor to pull up the floor and fix the squeak in one room that cost over 3k. If you like frustration and spending far more money than you need, go ahead and order from them and use their subcontractors. Or you can use a company that seamlessly bids, orders material and does the work from start to finish until you are 100% happy with the product. Up to you. Note, we still use the subcontractor because they do really good work. Dont use FWF for product and project management. If I could a 0 star rating, I would.

I called all over town to anyone listed on Google looking for someone to do a relatively simple install of 2 skylights. As it turns out, it's damn near impossible to find a reliable company that is willing to sell you the skylight and complete the installation. I must've burned through 8 companies before I finally checked the Velux website for certified installers in PDX. Sure enough, Green City Skylights and Solar were one of only TWO companies on the list. I called and got Shawn, who owns the company. He responded promptly to my call, showed up to my house on time, and got me an estimate in less than 6 hours. This may not seem like much, but he was the only one of 5 companies to do all of these things right. His estimate wasn't the cheapest, but he was by far the most knowledgeable and likable of the lot. We signed with Green City 2 weeks ago and I'm already the proud owner of two freshly installed skylights. They did the work in less than a day, the crew were all good guys and obvious pros, and they didn't leave the place a total mess. I even volunteered to vacuum the schmutz that they did leave behind. If you're out looking for skylights, I feel your pain. Just do yourself a favor and make sure Green City is in the mix. They'll take everybody else to school.
