My friends that live in the area like to tempt me with food pics occasionally to show me what I'm missing out on, and one of them likes this place a lot, so I decided to give it a shot. Well... the burgers look better than they taste. The patty does not have enough beef (or maybe not good quality beef?), which was dry for some reason and somewhat crumbly. Also, I'm meh with most beer, which I feel is the main pro of this place. There are TVs around for those who want to watch the games and drink beer, so I can say I'm most likely not the crowd this place is trying to draw. There are other places to chill with friends that have better food imo. Oh, and the ranch is watery. The chipotle ranch too. Choose a different dipping sauce unless they've changed it since I've last been. I know it's my bad for choosing boneless wings, but if Korean fried chicken places can keep them juicy, so can every other establishment. The ones here are dry. Kind of stumbled upon this place, kind of not. I had seen it on my searches before but just hadn't had the chance to venture over to try them. My husband and I were looking for a place that was dog-friendly and had good drinks and food. Well well well, winner winner chicken dinner! When walking in, you're greeted by a friendly host or hostess. They saw our pup and showed us to the patio. It was a nice day so the temperature was wonderful and they even had dog bowls of water sitting out. The patio had TVs but we're not into football and just found something to watch on our phone. The waiter was phenomenal and very attentive but not overbearing. He made suggestions about the drink menu and was considerate to the fact that I drink virgin drinks only. The patio was relatively enclosed with screens to keep flies away. Regarding the food, it's an easy menu with not too many options. This keeps ticket times down and food comes out quick and hot. I had a quesadilla and my husband had the blackberry burger. It was absolutely delicious! The waiter even brought out a piece of bacon for our dog on a little platter. It really is the little things. She makes the best ever smoked old fashion the best we've ever had! We come specifically to see her and have them! We came for Mother's Day and sat at a table because it was more than just us this time and Monica was our server. It went terrible. She seemed to be annoyed to be serving us. We needed drinks for a long time. I asked Becky on the bar for napkins and straws and another server for silver ware. Hard to get the check or find her and will not sit at a table again only bar. The night time bartender Tyler served us once too he is also nice! Becky is our favorite though we come just for her! Her service is amazing even during times when it's very busy. This place is fabulous. Located by the movie theater, it's easy to find and there is plenty of parking. There are lots of TVs and lots and LOTS of beer! Seriously, there are probably 100 on tap. I'm from out of state but I've come here at least twice and I've enjoyed it both times. There have been 5 of us each time and they have several tables that would accommodate us. I have not sat outside yet but I bet it's absolutely beautiful when it's nice outside. The serves have been friendly and helpful. We all get a burger and either a flight or a beer. This time we went on a Sunday and there were drink and appetizer specials. We got the fried pickles with the jalapeno dill sauce and I highly recommend them. I really like chocolate stouts, blonde ales, and some ciders. This most recent time I got two that I really enjoyed...KBS Hazelnut Fudge (straight up like drinking Nutella...but be careful, it's 12%!) and Original Sin Black Widow. I was thrilled to find both of these at the Total Wine in my town, 2 states away. The burgers and sides are really good. My mom loves that she is able to substitute any burger with a garden burger. And my sister is a huge fan of their onion rings. The interior is really cool with awesome art work and the taps are a display of their own. It does have a tendency to get a little loud, but I think it's worth it. If I lived locally, this would be my go to spot. read more

Service, food and 50 available drafts provide for a nice location to wind down after work or to watch a game. Plenty of stools at the bar. Enclosed patio seating for children, or to enjoy a nice weather while dining. I would not recommend indoor seating for a group if you have more than 10. Location isn't wide enough to put too many tables together. 10 max. We did manage to seat 13 people (unplanned & thankfully due to our timing chairs were available), yet a couple of people dealt with eating at the corners of the table. It gets pretty packed on wing Wednesday evenings ($1), so I would suggest you get there by 6pm to get a table. Make a reservation for groups as a courtesy. TIP: A veggie patti can be used to substitute a beef burger on the menu. Plenty of parking as it is inside a strip mall. Enjoy the service. Becky is awesome! read more

Stopped by for dinner on one of their Trivia Tuesdays. Inside was a bit full and we had a group of 6 so we sat in the covered outdoor section. Service was good, we were served drinks right away and did were given timely refills. The food was delicious. I ordered a Blackberry BBQ burger and tried one if the Blackberry BBQ wings, the overall taste of the sauce wasn't overpowering so if you have mild tastes its safe to try. Stopped in to watch some of the March Madness games and have dinner. We were instantly greeted by the hostess and given a table. They have an incredible amount of beers on tap scrolling by on a screen or you can scan a QR code to browse through them easier. Our server was friendly and our food/drinks arrived in a timely manner. We started with a beer and cocktail before ordering the nachos. They were actually pretty good and the portion size was perfect for 2 of us to share and still save room for a meal. For my dinner, I went with the Hawaiian Burger with Onion Rings. I really liked the onion rings and the burger had great flavor. My only complaint was the quality of the bun. It seemed to just crumble and fall apart which made it extremely messy and hard to eat. Our other complaint (along with other guests) was that the dining room/bar was so loud. Not loud with music but the room is just a loud room from people talking and not having anything to soften the noise. We saw 2 other groups request to move to the outdoor patio because of the noise. Overall, impressive drink list and slightly above average food. Definitely higher quality than a typical bar menu. read more

This place has very quickly become our favorite place to have wings. We always get a flight of beer to sample what's on tap and we have found a few new favorites we would have never tried before. We have not had to wait for a table yet and the service is always good. The decor is typical bar and pub and clean. Appetizers- we always get the fried green beans and fried pickles. 5/5 highly recommend the jalapeño ranch dipping sauce for both. Yum. My son always gets the rise and grind burger with fries. He says it is one of the best burgers he has ever had and rates it 4.5/5 My husband and I get wings and have sampled a few different flavors. I feel like, when it comes to WR, this spot is a solid cut above the rest. To start with, they have a fantastic beer/cider menu that will pretty much have something for everyone. I was able to find plenty of beers I'd never tried before and gave them a go. They even have different sizes depending on how much you want. The food menu is fairly limited in that, they don't have a ton of variety (mostly burgers and wings). But what they have they do well. And I'm perfectly fine with that. I've had both the burgers and wings and quite like both. I also went with the Brussel sprouts appetizer this past time and it was solid. Last, the environment and service are both great. My servers have been knowledgeable, helpful and more than patient with me and my questions. There are also plenty of TVs in the event you want to watch a game. The first visit we both ordered burgers as well and were not fans of them. The patties seemed a bit dried out and reminded me of a frozen burgers. The wings on the other hand have hit both times. There are many options to choose for the wings and we typically get at least one dry rub. The staff has been friendly, and we have always managed to get there before the crowd. This is the second time I've been to Black Barley and I do believe it's one of the best restaurants in middle Georgia. I'm shocked that so many people still don't know about it. The food is always great and the staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable. I've had the bruschetta burger and the chicken salad with shredded chicken and lemon vinaigrette. The burger was very good and the salad was amazing -- especially with the lemon vinaigrette. The only issue I have is that it needs just a little more chicken for me not to be too hungry later. We stopped for lunch at Black Barley on our way back home to Atlanta. When we walked in there were a few customers but it wasn't packed. There were five of us and we all ordered wings (3 traditional and 2 boneless), two orders of fries and one order of onion rings. After 45 minutes, we still didn't have our food. Our daughter mentioned the sign that was on the door that said they cook to order, so we waited longer understanding that the food is cooked to order. After an hour, we received the order of onion rings, and one order of the fries and boneless wings, all of which were barely warm. A few minutes later, we received the second order of fries and two of the traditional wings. Those fries and wings were hot. A few minutes later we received the last order of boneless and traditional wings. We told our waitress that the onion rings and fries were cold and that, after waiting for so long, we would expect them to be hot. She was very apologetic and asked if we wanted her to put in another order. At that point, we had been there for an hour and 15 minutes and did not want to wait any longer. She took the onion rings and one order of fries off the bill and also discounted the wings 20%, which we appreciated. The food was good but I do not think we will return due to the wait time as well as the food not being hot. We were at the restaurant for an hour and 35 minutes. Also, another customer must have heard us talking about how long we had been there and on his way out, he looked at us and said "good luck", as if he understood and agreed. read more
