Love this area. I would say this trail is easy to moderate. There is about three different or four different trails, beautiful scenery well taken care of and very quiet. There is a small sign at the entrance, but it is across the street so if you're not looking for it, it's hard to find but I would definitely recommend.

Take some bug spray. It's a beautiful walk. Very cool dam. It's a bit hard to find but worth it.

15/10 would recommend! If you're in the area and catch a glimpse of this, do NOT miss out!…read more My partner and I had an amazing time! Our guides were so personable, accommodating,& not overbearing in that "Your a tourist so we have to do the small talk" thing. It was actually cool, like going out to the lake with friends. I originally picked Sup for the Cliff Diving feature, which to me is exactly what is needed during a vacation. My partner wasn't a fan of that idea so we found a more "relaxing" vibe, settling on the Sunset Paddle. Best thing for me is while we did our Sunset paddle our guide suggested doing a cliff jump& I was so excited! It was exactly what I wanted and I valued the suggestion since my partner wasn't interested in it. I was the only person at first who wanted to jump, the guide said he'd jump too. Little by little the whole group, INCLUDING my partner decided to join! It wasn't one of those "Peer Pressure" things. Just good ol' inviting nature coupled with words of encouragement. It was a huge highlight for me. So many options: Cliff Jumping, Sunset paddling, Eco Tours, lounging chairs to relax at the lake in. They pretty much have it all& the cherry on top: PRICE! No price gouging. If you have your own gear it's even cheaper. They sit at $20/Person for the tour when you have your own gear. Small wins in this economy. Yes we could've just went out with our own gear and got to mosey around, but it was so nice to be guided where the sun sets perfectly. It was absolutely perfection. **I wish I had more photos but we had such a good time we hardly took any and our guide took most of them!**

Our 14 year old tried the paddle board with Dillon's help and he did well. The tour was the right choice for our inter-generational, not very athletic group. Water is so clear. Enjoyed paddling and views of sunset and sunrise were stunning. Short ride to Eureka Springs where we hopped on and off the trolley and Thorncrown Chapel is a short drive as well. The bathrooms were clean, bright, spacious, had a private shower, and flush toilets. I would NOT book the campsites that did not back to the river (they are sandwiched between two (minor) roads and had little room. We did not drive to "area 2" which was sites 1-37, but they appeared to be wooded at the bottom of the dam. We stayed in "area 1" which is campsites 38-59, and is almost impossible to find if you arrive after hours (it's another exit off of 187, and is labeled Parker Bottoms) - the signage at this site is very lacking. All in all, a wooded, beautiful campground. We saw armadillos, raccoons, great blue herons, and fish! FYI, there is also a different campground named Dam Site Lake, and it's on a peninsula in the middle of the lake. It offered no trees and looked hot and barren. Due to the lack of signage, we drove around this one for a while, looking for our site (argh!). Dam site lake would be good for a large college group who wants lots of sun and to be right on the water (and who don't care about privacy).

He is really knowledgeable about the area and very passionate about fly fishing, and he wants everyone he takes out to love it as well. He is also very good at his craft -- we watched him pull in 5 trout in 3 minutes at the end of our trip (watching this was almost as fun as the fishing itself). Thanks so much for making a great trip for us, Erik!

Sadly, the loving care that was once evident everywhere is no longer there. The cabins are in serious need of maintenance. I called a few times prior to finally booking online because I couldn't catch anyone on the phone. Our keys were pinned to a corkboard at the office when we arrived around 3:25 pm. When we checked out the next morning at 8:36, there was also no one in the office, although a housekeeping(?) vehicle drove past us to the cabin. It was a very impersonal experience and not at all what I experienced as a child and also when I returned with my own young children years ago. I did text and call Kelly as I would have preferred to give this feedback in person, as well as settle my account. No shampoo or body wash in the bathrooms, but there were some soap bars. Bring a hair dryer - there isn't one. Pro tip: We didn't think there was a bath mat, but it was folded under the tissue holder on the back of the toilet. Water was hot and the pressure was decent. Our cabin (no 2) had gray hairs on one of the pillowcases and the sheets had multiple tiny holes. There was a streak of black on the ceiling of our cabin above the bed that might have been mold but honestly am not sure. The expensive tv ads that run in the DFW and OKC market could be better spent on Thompson's water seal for the exteriors and refreshing the ancient carpet and sheets/beds. That said, if you think of it as a glamping experience it might not be so bad. Sadly, this will most likely be our last visit here. Giving it two stars for the creek and river views.
