This is my favorite drive thru coffee place around! It's too bad it's in the opposite direction of work-or maybe it's a good thing (for my bank account at least!). Hands down the best coffee I've ever had. My sister introduced me to BBCC and this summer and I've been a constant customer ever since. Not only is the coffee good but I really love the owner's work ethic and dedication to her business. She readily accepts feedback and makes a genuine effort to know her customers. I stop by as frequently as the wallet allows lol, this is such a great place to stop for a pick-me-up, all of the employees are friendly and accommodating, I always order the same thing and depending on who's working and the line my drink will already be made when I pull up to the window, my lady's favorite is the orange creamcnickle blended redbull (with smoothie base) and it always makes her day. My all time favorite stand! AND it's less than a minute from my house - not kidding. Too many times have I been late to work or school because I had to make sure I got my fix. Being a barista I'm probably a little too picky for my own good when it comes to coffee. But I'm amazed that this place never ever disappoints me. Drinks are always tasty! I've been coming here for years, even before it was Black Bear, and the popularity has only grown! I can totally see why . The baristas are always quick to get your drink made, and always remember to punch your stamp card. No need to remind them! I'm not gonna go in about the hand comment, because I think others have already done that for me. I used to work as a barista and you get syrups, coffee, mocha, etc. on you, and sometimes it stains. I can only imagine what my hands would look like if I kept going with my job as a barista. I digress. This stand is amazing. I've seen it a million plus times and have never thought to come in. I finally did the other day and I can finally see what I've been missing this whole time! The first three days I went, I was hooked on the Grizzly Mocha, which is a secret ingredient drink that the owner and baristas don't share with the customers. I get it with the syrups cut in half and it's BOMBBB. Today, I went and their espresso machine was down. No problem for these ladies! They offered me a menu with all of their flavored Red Bulls. I tried the Dreamsicle and it was amazzzingggg. They have TONS of other flavors though that I intend on trying on days that I go midday or I'm not feelin' coffee. Prices are fair - I'd say I spend fifty cents less or so than I would at Starbucks, but for creative drinks and amazing, genuine service, I'm already getting a better deal than I would be anywhere else. I have a pet peeve. Well...I have a small book of pet peeves, but some of mine are more strongly present then others. Hands. Dirty hands. Nails. Dirty nails. I once recently had a college/hs student "saleswoman" come to my door selling me magazines, and books. Ok cool. Friendly enough. And then....I saw them..her hands. Dirty. Yellowed nails, chipping, half long, half crooked short, crumbled dirt smoothly rooted under her nails. I was a loss for words. I literally was being nice, maybe even going to buy, but then had to suddenly go because my "oven was going off"....UGH. Look, if you can't take care of the way you present yourself, how can you make that sale? You will not be taken seriously. So that was bad enough of an experience at my door, not even serving food or drink. Now here I am, saw pretty good reviews for this place, I already mindlessly past my fav coffee joint on my way home from grocery shopping, so I yelped and found this coffee drive thru. I was hesitant immediately, as it's not quite pretty looking. It looked like a almost demolished trailer with no signage, or color, or even a flower pot, or neon sign, or anything for that matter that would make it look like a working business. I should have turned around right then, but I saw a biker waiting for his coffee in the window, so I thought, I'm here, let's try it Anyways. The girl working the window was friendly enough, well did her job anyways, and was pleasant about it. No chit chat or smile though. Just straight to business. Maybe the biker was her friend or something cuz I felt a lil rushed. I ordered my simple iced mocha, and that's when I saw it. Her hands. This sounds so mean, I'm not trying to be mean. But come on....I don't care who you are. Wash your hands. Take a moment and scrub under your nails with soap. It won't take more then 30 seconds. It's wrong in any situation, but you are serving food and drinks that I put in my mouth. It's disgusting. She had smears of white, probably w chocolate, dark brown smears and spots all over (prob ground coffee bean), and her nails looked like she was digging in the garden all day. But it didn't look fresh, it was caked around her cuticles and looked like it had been there overnight. Discolored and stained. Why?!?! Please, as a paying customer, tell me to wait a sec and take care of that. Please. I will thank you!! The coffee was bad too. Or just poorly done. Poor customer service!!! I went to Black Bear Coffee in Renton last Tuesday, 2-1-2022. This was my 5th time going there and I liked the coffee and its around the corner from me. During the 4 visits, I noticed that each barista had a different price for the same size drink. I shrugged it off because it was $0.20 difference. Well, the 5th had a different outcome. Her name is Meh. Caucasian woman with brown/blonde hair in her mid 20s. Drink was good but I noticed an extra $1.03 charge on my card. I called the number on the receipt 4 times during normal business hours and leaving 4 messages to call me back with my concern. I am still waiting to hear back from someone. I have stopped going there and found another coffee stand to go to that has better customer service and hire honest people who doesnt steal from their customers. read more

As a current barista, I have a really hard time finding the perfect latte near home. I love frequenting here and my drinks are always consistent, which is truly hard to find in the Fairwood area. They serve Cafe D'arte (common in the area for small stands) and I am never disappointed or feeling like I'm not getting my money's worth. The milk always tastes fresh (never like it's been steamed 17 times before me), espresso shots consistently amazing, and service is always speedy and friendly. Christmas morning I came through with a 12 drink order and the girls handled it like pros; quick and calm!! Not to mention every drink was perfect! I never mind waiting in line when coffee is so consistently good and the baristas are fabulous! read more

This coffee stand is great! It's been a diamond in the rough so to speak because it's hard to find GOOD coffee stands in the Benson Hill area near the Kent/Renton border. Otherwise, I'm pretty much stuck with Starbucks which definitely is not my first choice for coffee. I frequent this coffee stand about 2-3 times per week on average and the baristas that work here are all great. It's always about how good the coffee is and how nice the baristas are! There are stands that I won't go to anymore because the girls that make the coffee just suck. I appreciate good quality coffee with a good attitude. Also, it's always been fast! The owner is very friendly. She seems to know lots of her customers on a first name basis as well as their regular orders, so it feels like a welcoming neighborhood coffee spot. She doesn't have a written menu yet, so you should have a drink in mind, but I'm sure that isn't a problem for Seattle area residents since they drink so much coffee. You can flavor your coffee with 40+ syrups I believe so no shortage of coffee options - seems like she will make pretty much anything you ask. One issue I had was that my Americano had more ice than I'm used to, so next time I'll tell her to add less. read more
