I've come to Black Cloud twice now for a third ear lobe piercing and a small nostril stud. Both visits with the piercers were great!! They have always been friendly and easy to talk to. They make the process as quick as possible and keep everything sanitized. The service and jewelry are all at great prices as well. I would have rated 5/5 stars but I noticed that they frequently tell customers inaccurate waiting times. Of course, a waiting time is never guaranteed but they often under quote the wait. I, along with customers to had entered the store after me, were told that the wait would be about 20 minutes but each time it was at least one hour or more, especially if there are others waiting in front of you. I had a dinner reservation that I was luckily able to push back at the last minute due to this. This was the only con I personally experienced here! I would absolutely recommend visiting Black Cloud for any of your piercings! Just keep in mind that if there are a few others ahead of you, the wait time will probably a little longer than 20 minutes! read more

We were a walk-in for earlobe piercing for my 5yo granddaughter. Sierra (sp?) was fantastic! She was patient and empathetic when my gd was nervous to have the second one done. I would recommend Sierra a million times over! I took off 2 stars due to the other woman that was at the front when we finished. This person was a perfect example of why some people shouldn't work with the public. She had a terrible attitude, was short in her responses to us, and even refused additional revenue for the business by not agreeing to the multiple piercings my DIL wanted....and then offered zero explanation. First let me say, if there was a way to give 4.5 stars I would. I hate having to take an entire star away for one negative part of a generally awesome experience but, I can't give 5 in good conscience. Let's start with the positives: Super easy to find, very clean and decorated in a way that makes you feel warm and really comfortable. The entire staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. Josh, who did my tattoo, is not only incredibly nice but easy to talk to and shows a really high integrity when it comes to his art. We had a few conversations about the factors he considers before each tattoo and you can tell this isn't the kind of place that is in it for the money and doesn't care what they put out there for the world to see. The tattoo I wanted was a simple one but he put a lot of care into making sure it was exactly what I wanted, as well as making sure I was comfortable throughout. The only part of my experience that didn't put a smile on my face was the fact that I had contacted Josh via email earlier in the week to discuss, and make an appointment for, my tattoo. We had agreed to 12:30 on Sunday. I arrived at 12:15 to find he had just taken another customer, thinking our appointment was for 1:30. Luckily I had some errands to run that I went to get done and came back but, overall, I would've appreciated the appointment time been kept. Lesson learned, call before I leave to make sure. If I could give this place a 0 I would just based on customer service. Went in to get a couple ear jewelry pieces changed since I cannot do them myself. The piercer was already hesitating when I said it would be 5 pieces I needed changed (mind you I had my own jewelry)... when she asked me what I wanted to do I was going through them all and said I would do all these ones (specifying which one on my ear) and then said MAYBE this one piercing. Super cool spot!! Roman did an amazing job with my cousin and I. He was so good at keeping my cousin calmed. He was very cool about everything and our tattoos were just what we wanted!! Horrible experience! My daughter's ear was pierced at a severe angle which will need to be redone. I mentioned my concern at the time of the piercing and was rudely dismissed. I absolutely loved being pierced by Zoie and the tattoo process with Josh was good, too. The prices are great. My only complaint would be the dust on most of the surfaces in the shop as well as the spider webs and dead bugs in the lobby. Not the best for a sanitary tattoo shop. Ok so this is my first tattoo, first I went to their first location in Charlotte after reading tons of positive reviews on yelp, they were booked "it was a Saturday and I didn't schedule an appointment" so they referred me to their new location in Charlotte after they called them and confirmed they will be able to do my tattoo, to start with the place was super clean "the place is brand new", I did not know what to expect as it was my first tattoo ever, the whole staff was super friendly and nice, from Roman the owner to the artists, they were very knowledgeable and you feel they really enjoy what they do, I brought the design I wanted with me, which was a medium size tribal chest piece, the tattoo artist who did my piece was Chris, this guy is amazing, super friendly, passionate about what he do and he really did a great job! I got tons of complement from people when they see my tattoo and people keep asking me where I got it. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with Black Cloud. My 6 year old decided she would like her ears pierced for her birthday and (even though it was hard for this mama) we agreed. if I could leave 0 stars I would. i can't say anything about the tattoo portion because I only got piercings but their piercers are horribly trained. They are typically nice but have no idea what they are doing. i went to get my first piercing in December and it bled so so much, and it never healed properly due to the placement and I was never informed that I need to downsize my piercing and I developed a irritation bump. They never informed me the proper way to clean it either, because of the way they told me to clean it, it got infected and made the hump worse. i called multiple locations and they all told me to apply pressure to the irritation bump and try tea tree oil, soaking it and cleaning it more, all of which made it worse. I got a 2nd one, an Orbital. They told me it had to be done with a curved bar and couldn't be started with a hoop and I had to wait months for it. Which I found out is a lie and due to the angle I never would have been able to put a hoop in it. The same situation with the irritation bump occurred again. I found all of this out because I went to other shops and explained the situation to them and they all said the same thing and recommended that I take them out and let the holes heal and hope that the bumps go away. On top of all of this they overcharge, ALOT most piercings should be around $30 not $80+, the only piercer at any of the 3 Charlotte locations that's good is Amanda. read more

I came here at 8:15 it says it closes at 10 online and on their sign it says closes at 9 so I knocked because all the lights are on and there's a worker chilling in the back talking to another worker and he looked straight at me and ignored me so wouldn't say they seem very nice and sure won't be back I'll be staying with green light tattoo in Charlotte they were much nicer and it's worth the further drive. read more
