Everyone was very welcoming when I came in, and checking in was a breeze. The girls put up a privacy screen for me while I was getting my piercing done. Gabriella was my piercer, and she was very kind and professional. She made me feel comfortable even in a very uncomfortable situation lol. I'm so glad I came to Canvas! On top of that, I asked to get some areas redone that were previously marked and they're completely off-center. Now I have dark black circles next to old faded ones across my body. I should've went somewhere else and the artist shouldn't have serviced me when he said they don't even offer brown ink. Now I'm living with ugly marks on my skin.

For starters, the tattoo artist ( Tina) didn't speak English too well and was slightly temperamental. I decided to ignore that red flag and proceeded to get a tattoo with Tina anyway... Long story short, the tattoo wasn't that great because she used way too much shadow on my mothers portrait but I let that slide and moved on to the next red flag After 6 hours of mutilating my arm with her over shadowing, Tina decided she had enough and insisted that I come back in two weeks to finish up... Didn't even realize that was a red flag UNTIL... Two weeks later I go back to the same Black Cloud Tattoos to finish my tattoo but before we could get started Tina began demanding an extra $400 on top of the $800 I already paid her. Even tho we agreed the entire tattoo would only cost a hefty $800 When I complained to the store manager about this unethical bait and switch the manager and owner( Lucy Roman) said Tina could charge what she wanted to charge and that I signed a waiver stating that I agreed to those terms.. I personally never heard of an agreement where switch and bait was apart of a business agreement so I didn't think to look for that provision. In any case, Im looking into legal options to get my money back but in the meantime I hope others take heed to the red flags that I ignored with Black Cloud Tattoos unless you want " sucker " tattooed on your forehead.‍

I had already read rave reviews about her and her work, so I felt super comfortable with her! Not once did I question the sanitation of the environment or any of their methods. She was very informative and knowledgeable and explained everything I needed to know. This is my second nostril piercing, so she took extra time and care into lining up the two piercings as much as possible. She did a fantastic job! Detailed aftercare instructions were provided (LITHA - leave it the hell alone!) I can't be happier and I highly recommend Tee for any of your body piercing needs!!

I was greeted immediately and since I was early he asked if I would wait while he finished up with the lady he was already talking too. They have a large waiting room so I sat and within a few minutes he called me back up. You fill out a quick form, pick your jewelry and Russell takes you right back. He is fantastic and his personality will quickly eliminate any nerves or fear you have. He takes the time to explain his process step by step and then it's over! I was in tonight to get my industrial pierced. I don't know who the man is who pierced me but he…read morewas shaking uncontrollably from the moment I got to his table. He spent over 40 minutes marking up my ear to find proper placement. The entire time he was shaking, he would erase a mark he made and continue to do the same thing over and over again. He told me to lay down on the wrong side the piercing was supposed to be on. I told him that was the wrong side and he replied "oh yeah duh I forgot". He wasn't making sense with his vocabulary. I was very scared and that's coming from someone who has had many piercings and tattoos from your establishment. He finally got around to piercing the top part of the industrial, and he then walked away from the needle still visibly in my ear to then mark the second hole which took him another 5 or so minutes. I knew something wasn't right. I thought he was done with the entire piercing to be honest. Turns out he was no where near being finished. My friend got up to look and there was a huge pool of blood on the table under my head and coated in my hair. He then proceeded to say he needed to try again with the piercing. I was confused as to what this meant. I then asked if he was going to re pierce a second hole and he became confused and argumentative. He said he needed to re angle it. I was shaking and felt very nauseous. I asked him to please stop the service and he got more argumentative. I was so uncomfortable and quite frankly, traumatized. I ended up leaving with my entire ear bandaged up. This is completely unacceptable that you would have someone that inexperienced and rude working there. It's a a complete safety concern for all other at this establishment. Also, there were no wavers signed and zero accountability for his actions. He was very cold and seemed like he was on something. I am going to let people know, not to come here for their safety. I would like an apology. His apology and I quote was..."I'm sorry bro, but it happens"... I am completely traumatized. This is what I sent to their IG and have not heard anything back. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! They obviously don't care about the safety of their clients

Ultimately all the reviews led me to Tattoo Me Charlotte. My first I worked with Sami to craft up the perfect tribute to my two kiddos, and my baby that never was. It incorporated their nicknames in a beautiful way that I get compliments on all the time with a mix of flowers, bees, and watercolors. My second was on a whim with my husband after celebrating our 8th anniversary. My husband has also gotten two tattoos here as well that are stunning. His Starry Night one other shops didn't think was possible, but Stacy crushed it. The location is clean, the artists are all so fun and dedicated to their craft, and all around the vibe is perfect. Only wish that some of the artists would do more back and forth prior to the appointment to nail down the design draft rather than while you're in the shop - would cut down on the wait time, especially if there is a lot of initial back and forth.
