WOW - it was the most incredible workout I've ever had! And it was so much fun! I haven't felt motivated to workout in months (and have never boxed before), but I couldn't wait to come back here as soon as I left. The community here is also wonderful. I was feeling old and soft and desperately needed a kick in the ass. I was introduced to Juan Funez by a family member that had been boxing there for years. Since I started boxing I have dropped 25lbs and am in the BEST SHAPE I've EVER been in and that includes my time as a college football player. Boxing is not only THE BEST cardio I have ever done but it also helps build muscle, burn fat and give you more CONFIDENCE to attack anything life may throw at you (especially punches!). I've worked out with many trainers at many gyms but none compare to Juan and his ability to switch up the workouts when he sees you getting comfortable. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting your sweat on at Ten Goose Boxing Gym and letting Juan be your guide. Also, have to give a BIG SHOUTOUT to RICKY who always keeps everything positive. This review is specifically for the kid/youth classes, but I will be able to leave another for…read moreadults soon. My wife has been taking our 5 year old to boxes classes at Apex for a few weeks. We heard from some friends that it was a great activity and gym, so we gave it a go. I had seen some photos and videos she had taken, which looked fun/cool, but today was my first chance to see the classes live. From the first few seconds, it was clear our son was already part of a community. He just turned 5, and it was so cool to watch him walk into the gym with confidence, fist-bumping and high-fiving other kids and the coaches. I thought I was going to have to coax him into starting the session, but as soon as we walked through the door he ran away from me/into the gym and was ready to go. The class had a mix of ages - my son was probably the youngest - but they all were able to do the class together seamlessly. Every single kid got individual attention, and each set of exercises were customized/adjusted to each kid's abilities. I properly met one coach, Constantine, but not the other one yet. They both were so good with the kids (and both are seasoned boxers themselves - some pretty cool photos/posters around the gym). It was also a legit workout - my son was sweating and completely locked-in/in the zone. It was so ridiculously cool to see. The coaches also are clearly teaching control, focus, and discipline in their practice, but in a subtle, sustained way. It was so impressive to see. While not necessary, the gym and equipment were also immaculately clean. As a side note, the other parents were also so kind. I had my 2 year old daughter with me as well who, understandably, wanted to wander and go up to everyone there, and I felt so welcome as she was met with nothing but smiles and parents in a playful mood. As the class wrapped up, they were prepping for the adult class, which I'm stoked to try out soon. Looks like an incredible workout and a great way to get in better shape. Very much looking forward to it. All that to say, I now get why my wife signed him up and was so adamant about how great of a place/class it is. It's unusual to see ANYTHING that has such high ratings as this place, but now it makes sense. Will be back next week.
