This gym could have been really great because the actual training received there is good, but the owners are criminals, steal your money and are disrespectful behind your back. Writing this review to help warn any innocent potential customers. I went in and spoke with one of the trainers and evaluated everything very carefully before deciding to join the gym. Among the things factoring into my decision was the fact that they have a sign posted up saying that they offer refunds for months paid in advance that don't get used. (I'm including a photo of it for reference. It's right there posted up on their wall) Because of the peace of mind that came with the offer for a refund if need be, I joined and paid $1,200 for 12 months up front. After only 6-8 weeks , I lost my job and couldn't cover rent for the upcoming month as a result. I loved training at the gym, but needed to pay rent more than I needed fight training so reluctantly went in and asked one of the owners (He identified himself as such) for the refund of my remaining months that I hadn't used yet. He refused, and said the gym doesn't give refunds. When I told him the sign said they do and that that's one reason I made the decision to pay for a whole year up front, he didn't care and said he wouldn't return my money. Then he went back inside and, thinking I had left, started talking badly about me to one of the trainers without knowing I was still standing just around the corner and could hear everything. He said, among other things, that he has no respect for people like me. A couple of minutes later as I was trying to figure out what to do, because I had just gotten $1,000 stolen from me, one of the trainers rolled up on his bike and greeted me. I then told him my situation and asked if he could help refund my remaining months and he also said that that won't be possible. Funny how when people sign up, the owners have no problem advertising refunds and feigning peace of mind and security of your investment, but the second you need to cash that in, they will steal from you directly to your face and turn their backs on you without a second thought. I never expected to be treated that way by people who I trusted and considered to be friends. But what can someone like me do? Force them to return what legally belongs to me? They'd literally beat me up. Sue them in court? How can I hire a lawyer when I can't even afford rent? So they just got away with stealing $1,000 from me and yet go around pretending they're decent people to everyone else. It's disgusting and illegal. So be warned. They are theives and their word has no honor. All they care about is your money. Don't trust anything they tell you, even if it's in writing. Good luck read more

O wow I didn't realize this was still in my draft and I never posted it. This review is long over due. My sons old boxing coach used to train here when he was in high school. Outlaws has been around for a long time. This isn't ur 24 hour fitness boxing class. This isnt a fancy gym , but rather the real deal hardcore boxing gym with hardcore passionate coaches, and members!!! My son started training here after his coach stopped coaching and I'm very glad he recommended him to this gym to continue his training. The coaches here are very knowledgeable in the craft. Members are very nice and welcoming. My sons been coming here since he was 8 years old (for about 5 years now) and have no plans to slow down. What he learns in this gym is not just about boxing but life lessons as well. Highly recommended. Edit: after reading the bottom review, it's not a fair assessment to the business and owner. It seems like the bottom reviewer wants a 2 miles not a foot. Coach brandon is very reasonable and has always worked with me on my son's bill. I pay a year in advance for my sons training for the discount instead of monthly. when we left out of town for a month he put it on pause for me so I don't loose a month. what owner would do that? I called up Brandon to ask about trying boxing out, and he told me I could work out there for the first time for free. Awesome. I was there 30 minutes later. The place is small but not tight. There are about 20 people working out there comfortably at once. They have everything necessary, from a boxing ring to speed bags and heavy bags and weights and kettlebells. Brandon had me do three rounds of jump rope to warm up, then someone who works for him (who's been doing this for almost 9 years!) taught me basic punches and jabs, shadow boxed with me, and then had me box on the heavy bags. Then I cooled down with kettlebells. It was seriously a good time. I can't wait to sign up and start going regularly. I love that this is a real no-frills gritty boxing gym. You're just there to box and train alongside both pros and beginners. It seems like a real family feeling. Best part is that you get to choose your pricing deal according to what you want. read more

After working out at LA Fitness for a few years, I was just totally over the whole idea of going to a gym. Who wants to walk on a treadmill with some girl trainer who could care less staring at you for an hour each day. I was looking for something different and then I heard about Outlaws Gym through Facebook. I decided to give it a try and I really loved my experience working out at Outlaws Boxing Gym. My trainer had me do so many fun exercises and really paid attention to me. After my workout I felt great and was excited to go back again to see what other things he had in store for me. This is the place to go to if you really want to learn how to box. I've been to other gyms and the training here is better. The coaches will put you through the boxing drills and you will sweat buckets. This is a real boxing gym, not a cardio boxing class you find at 24. A typical work out will start with three rounds of jumping rope to warm up, a couple rounds of shadow boxing, a few rounds of heavy bag. Then the trainers may have you do a couple of boxing drills that simulate sparring or some medicine ball exercises. You will learn footwork, offense, defense, how to bob and weave, counter, etc. Then some open gym ( maybe speed bag, double end bag), then when you think you are done, it's strength training time. And this is when you are just a novice like me. Eventually, when you're in good enough shape, and the trainers think you are ready, you will need a mouthpiece because you are going to get in that ring and spar. But don't let that make you nervous, you will spar with someone your skill level, or a pro that will take it easy with you. The coaches will supervise the sparring session and offer encouragement, and tell you what you're doing wrong. Owner Brandon besides being a golden gloves champion, also has a degree in kinesiology, so he has not only a vast knowledge about boxing, he also has a wealth of knowledge about human body mechanics and function. After looking around the valley for boxing gyms, found only cardio boxing classes and private's which didn't fit into my schedule and wasn't what I was looking for. I saw the owner of outlaws on esnews YouTube channel. He is very knowledgeable in the sport of boxing and strength and conditioning. I decided to try out his gym and I've been at outlaws for almost 2 years now. This gym challenges you everyday. Everyday you will leave with your shirt soaking wet(unless you refuse to put in work) It's not a class schedule, You start when you arrive. You will learn how to box without the pressure of having to compete. (This is also a fighters gym for those who are interested) Since joining the gym my boxing has improved and I lost 30 pounds along the way. i would recommend this gym to anyone/everyone. My friend introduced my to Outlaws a couple months back and I really enjoy it there. I don't have much of an attention span to work out for the sake of working out, but boxing is something that you workout while learning and it makes you work that much harder. At first I thought I'd run into some of the more experienced fighters and they'd have an ego about me using the heavy bag, or speed bag, or working with one of the coaches, but I found exactly the opposite. Everyone is really humble and they know they're students in an art too. There are others willing to give advice, be your training partner or just let you be at the gym so it makes for a very comfortable experience. Brandon has a degree in kinesiology, and is well versed in how the body works and functions. His advice has been instrumental in helping me improve specific areas during my sessions at the gym. I can't give enough praise for this gym and all the coaches who work there helping people out. Your first session is free and you'll be sold after that. During warmups and training, you have at least one coach walking around helping you adjust your technique or whatever you need. Compare this to a fitness gym where you don't have anyone helping you out. I honestly felt like I was getting personal training for my 2 hours there and even now after going for a few months, I still receive that personal attention. I'd recommend this place to anyone because the coach's knowledge can help prepare people at any age. I've seen gentlemen 60+ years old in there who could pop my head faster than shaving a balloon, to kids under 15 who could run circles around people twice their age. I first attended Outlaws because of how much my roommates and bf raved about it! I've never been a gym person. I hate the thought of working out or touching stuff that other people have sweat all over, but here, I don't seem to mind it. The encouragement and skills that you learn are so much better then running on a treadmill and using an elliptical while watching teen mom on MTV with no sound! The owner and trainers all seem to really care about your well being. They'll push you till you think you're going to break (or until you do), then they tell you what a great job you did. Every time I go to Outlaws it feels like I'm getting my own personal training session, whether it be with one of the coaches, one of the fighters, or just another gym member. The owner/trainer Brandon is extremely knowledgeable, very passionate about boxing, and an expert in his craft. As mentioned, this isn't your typical "gym," like 24 hour fitness or Equinox. It's a boxing gym. And they have legit trainer who will teach you proper technique. You're not getting the cardio boxing classes you see at 24 hour or equinox. You're getting the real deal. They have one boxing ring, heavy bags, double end bags - it is small inside. The place is only about 2000 square feet, so space is a commodity. It can be difficult finding a spot to warm up or jump rope when it's packed. There's only one bathroom (don't expect it to be glamorous). Remember why you're there - for fun, fitness or to learn how to fight. Tuition is affordable. I came into the gym looking to get in shape and find a hobby that would challenge me and take me out of my comfort zone while also helping me manage my stress. I found exactly what I was looking for and much more. This gym isn't just a gym it's practically family. Every one is extremely supportive and friendly. Everyone works hard and cares for one another. The gym has the right members and the best coaches a gym could have. Brandon is a very honest, strong and knowledgeable guy who has a passion for the sport and you can feel it when he trains you. Jay always makes time to help everyone and make sure they get what they want. I wanted to focus more on strength than boxing and Jay did exactly that. Six months later I'm stronger than I ever thought I would be and it's mainly because of how Jay has trained me. Cliff is very knowledgeable and down to earth. He pushes you to exceed your limits and is always so positive. The pro boxers at the gym are very humble and approachable. They are always ready to help everyone even if it means taking a little time off of their training. If you are looking for a place to grow as a person, to grow physically, for an awesome hobby or career and to meet great honest people this is the place to come. I recommend it 100%. You will learn so much about yourself and you will learn and perfect your boxing technique as well, to the point that you will want to be the best and with their help you probably would be. I had my first boxing workout ever here and it was great. The equipment there is solid--they have a boxing ring, speed bags, heavy bags, jump ropes, weights, a rower, and all of the other equipment needed to get a quality workout. The trainers are solid too; they gave me an overview of the form and technique behind boxing, then lead me through a boxing workout that was very challenging. I got some cardio, some strength training, some technique work, and I left the workout feeling tired but not drained. The gym has a good atmosphere to it too. I have been a member of several different kinds of gyms and athletic clubs over the years, and I liked this place because it has a good vibe to it with a focus on boxing and working out without the snootiness or intimidation that I've gotten off of some of the other gyms in the LA area. Overall, this is a solid place; I recommend it to anyone who wants to box, learn to box, or just get a great workout. read more

It's not limited to a 1 hour workout. You can do the daily training and stay as long as you'd like or do the training again at no extra cost. For anyone who has been to a proper boxing gym (not cardio or HIIT) a monthly membership usually implies that you receive access to the gym and that's it. Just like a 24/LA Fitness you pay to use the facilities and any additional coaching or training comes at an additional cost. This is not the case as Outlaws. Whether you are paying for the daily rate or monthly rate, you will receive high quality coaching every time you go in. Whether it's running mitts, being instructed for partner drills, bag drills, or weight/cardio training you will be getting those drills and workouts from a staff member. I have trained in gyms all over the US and the world and no other gym has ever offered anything remotely close. This is a boxing gym. Of course they want customers but they also want people there who are going to be a part of a team. I tried Outlaws a few months ago, and was hooked on the first visit. This is a real boxing gym; not an aerobics class with boxing gloves. They train amateur fighters here, and also folks like me, who don't have any plans to actually box, but who want to learn how and train like a fighter. They will push you as far as you want to go, but never pressure you to do things you don't want to. The coaches are friendly and knowledgeable, and the fighters are remarkably friendly. The facility itself can best be described as "gritty" and "utilitarian." No air conditioning. Nothing fancy. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect a real boxing gym to be like. If it had a shower, it would be perfect, but they don't. Update: this was posted when they were in their old location. The new place does have a shower! So I guess they are perfect now. read more

I took my son to this gym and I thought that the prices were very high but I though that meant great training. After 1 week my son learned nothing new and just told me they were working the body nothing else. After he started getting rashes on his skin and I took him to the doctor and he had fungi all over his skin. I returned to look at the gym and noticed from a second glance that the gym it was filthy. Later I learned that they were not even licensed boxing coaches. I am very upset with this and will never return. read more
